The waiting is almost over.  The sequel to that fun and cute drama My Amazing Boyfriend is almost upon us.

It is slated for airing this Valentine’s Day.

I have to say having watched two episodes of this second series, I thought the original leads were an adorable duo.  They had a ‘real’ feel to them if you know what I mean.

But having said, these new leads have a charm of their own and making the second series also as watchable.

Episode 1

Back in 2005 Mr Que and some others were mountain climbing when there was an avalanche which caused Mr Que to fall into a mountain crevice.  There he met a strange guy named Yubai, who may not be from this world.

Despite their differences, Yubai saved Mr Que from being crushed by a falling rock.  Since then, Yubai had become a much loved family of Mr Que.

Mr Que is the grandfather of Tian Jingzhi.

Back to 2018, three months after Xue Ling Qiao vanished.

Tian Jingzhi had not been able to get over her breakup number eight.  She is doing everything to forget him including consulting with a psychiatrist.

But Liang Qiao seems to invade her ever waking moments as well as we she is asleep, which is a lot of time.

Lately she had not been feeling well.  She was trending in the internet with her erractic behaviour during television shows.  She once fallen asleep during live broadcast; Dong Feng Feng had to pour water all over her face to wake her up.

There was also that time that she was crying during a show, she was crying too hard she made herself sick.

Poor girl thinks she was hallucinating all time because she sees Liang Qiao everywhere, inside her house, cooking for her, doing her laundry, cleaning for her, putting her to bed.

One day she was in the supermarket when she met him face to face, thinking that he was a part of her dream, not real, she was dreaming, she just sat down propped by shelves and proceeded to fall asleep.

Then she later found out that he was actually back, he is her new neighbour, right across her house, if that is that the worse case, she also finally admitted to herself that she is pregnant, pregnant with his baby.

Also in the scene is a new guy who is the same as Liang Qiao.  He has the same power.

For the last three months, he had been sending Tian Jingshi white roses.

Somehow he found out quickly that she was pregnant and offered to look after her and her unborn baby.  He will marry her and care for her baby as if it is his own.

But Tian Jingshi is not over Liang Qiao yet, not by a long mile.

Episode 2

Another new person has moved into Tian Jingzhi neighborhood.  She is Bai Lu who seemed to be able to guess what Tian Jingzhi’s dress for the day.  She always wears the same style but in a different colour.  They are always twinning.

Liang Qiao also noticed the new girl and wanted her investigated.

Tian Jingzhi went to visit her grandfather with her seventh boyfriend the cop.

The grandfather was telling them that he was very saddened that they did not get it together.  He would be a great-grandfather by now.

She felt guilty that she can’t tell him that she is pregnant.

Tian Jingzhi begged a grandfather to forgive and make up with her mother.  Mr Que thought was firmed that her mother is now an adult and should stand on her feet.

Tian Jingzhi does not know that Liang Qiao already knows that she is pregnant.  She, therefore, is thinking ways on how to break the news to him.

There was a rather random scene towards the end of this episode. They were both being interviewed.

The last question asked of them was who would they like their child to look like?

Tian Jingzhi said Kim Tae Hwan (original Lian Qiao) while Liang Qiao wrote, Janice Wu (original Tian Jingzhi)

Episode 3

Tian Jingzhi cleared the air with Liang Qiao.  She said she wanted to be friends with him as they are now neighbors and anyway, she was friends to all of her ex-boyfriends.

Liang Qiao was taken aback, thinking that Tian Jingzhi was too in love with him.

Speaking of ex-boyfriends, Number 7, the cop, came to visit her as they have decided to go back to being just like brothers and sisters.

He was talking to her when he suddenly noticed that she had fallen asleep.  No matter how he tried to wake her up, she was comatose.

So he called an ambulance.

Episode 4

It was chaotic for a moment as they were trying to prevent Tian Jingzhi being taken to the hospital because of her current pregnant condition.

But as if telepathic Laing Qiao was there to take control and wake Tian Jingzhi up.  He told her to be an actress now and act herself out as if nothing had happened.

Tian Jingzhi has become friendly with Bai Lu, who seemed to be protecting her as she surreptitiously removed a tracker from Tian Jingzhi’s car.

They got talking about liking a cat, Bai Lu said that she doesn’t particularly like them because they die quickly (their life span is short)

Tian Jingzhi ask her if she had heard the poem of Gu Cheng called Avoid?

You said you didn’t like planting flowers

For fear of seeing the flowers fall

Therefore to avoid the end of all

You refused the beginning of all.
– Avoid by Gu Cheng

Tian Jiangzhi has also found out that Liang Qiao already knew of her pregnancy, it was actually the reason for his return.

When she went to confront him about it, he told her to have an abortion because what she was carrying is a parasite, feeding on her nutrients, fats, blood.  No matter how much she ate it would not be enough.  That is why she is anemic now.

Tian Jiangzhi got upset and told him that she would decide wha she will do.

Episode 1-2

This drama has 40 episodes but each lasting just over half an hour only.

I have to confess that I sort of lost a bit of my appetite for Kdramas, well because the last few ones I have watched were not interesting enough and plus the fact that China has really up the ante in their dramas especially the historical ones, which have been beguiling even international fans.

Anyway, enough said.

I was so pleasantly surprised by this drama.  It has the right amount of excitement, action and oodles of charms from the main leads: Kim Nam Gil and Lee Ha Nui (Lee Honey).  There is something rather satisfying, I dare say, about the story.

The Fiery Priest is none other than Kim Hae Il.  There was a quick flashback of a soldier fighting so I reckon that Kim Hae Il before he became a priest, was a former military man, who now suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or Bipolar Disorder.

His symptoms are excavated by the many harrowing, wrongdoings, criminal things that are happening around him and yet no one was taking responsibility or try to solve the problem.  It is frustratingly a ‘dog eat dog world’.

Kim Hae Il has a reputation of losing it easily and he did when he came upon a shaman pretending to exorcise a man for a fee, lots of money.  Kim Hae Il showed the people that everything was a fake to get their generous donation.

Kim Hae Il then asked the shaman who was his mastermind.  He readily squealed that it was a loan shark, who Kim Hae Il went to see immediately.  To get to the big boss, he had to beat up all the guards and then the loan shark himself.

Kim Hae Il ended up at the police station with the loan shark insisting on lodging a case against the priest for landing most of his guards in the hospital for serious injuries.

In the end, his diocese asked him to take a ‘vacation’ and stay with Father Lee Young Joon.

At that moment, Father Lee Young Joon was having a problem with some thugs who have been harassing him to sign contracts with the property developers.

Kim Hae Il was welcomed warmly by Father Lee Youg Joon and by the other priest and a nun.

He was then advised by Father Lee Young to be calm and not to seek trouble.  Just walk away.

During the following Sunday service, Father Lee tasked him to conduct the service.

One of the worshippers was Park Kyung Sun.  It was almost lust at first sight for her.  She found Kim Hae Il just gorgeous. Calm down, woman, he is a priest! 🙂

During his sermon, many of the parishioners did not find him gorgeous then because he was blunt and opinionated.  He said how can you ask God to forgive your sins?  His advice was to seek forgiveness from those you have wronged and then only then that you ask God to forgive your sins.

After the service, Park Kyung Sun immediately went to confession.  She wanted her sins forgiven for being short-tempered with her colleagues.

Kim Hae Il asked if she had sought forgiveness from her workmates?  He then ended the confession time abruptly.

Kyung Sun was not happy but one look at the priest handsome face and she was mollified.  She then asked if Father Lee had perhaps talked about her.

He said no but he saw her on tv; copying her look of rolling her eyes.

There was a press conference by the property developers which is being backed by the police.  The conference was interrupted by strikers and ordinary citizens whose housing and livelihood are affected by the development.

The Chief of police signaled to the police on duty to turn a blind eye and go and leave the thugs working for the property developers to beat up the people.

At that time Kim Hae Il and a young priest were passing.  They notice the brawl, as well as the posse of police marching away.

Kim Hae Il was thinking himself not to interfere as the advice from father Lee was still fresh from his mind

But the Powers that Be sent thunder.

Episode 3-4 (2)

In this back to back episodes, so many things are coming out.  Hai Il was a soldier and he carries the guilt of throwing dynamite to an underground room where children were hiding.  He was obeying orders from the platoon leader.  He did try to reason that they have not properly searched the room for any possible casualty but he was told to obey orders.

This incident had him so guilt-ridden that has resulted in PTSD.

There was also an incident at the church where the thugs once again harassing Father Lee.  It was turning violent when Hai Il turned up.

The thugs ended up in the police station but were released immediately as the case was decided as so minor it was not worth the ink on the paper.

Hae Il went to the station and created such a fuss.  Telling them that they are only affirming their reputation with the public as corrupt and can’t be relied upon for justice.

Hae Il woke up feeling at peace when she saw the breakfast hangover soup Father Lee had already prepared for him.

But where is Father Lee?

He had vanished, they cannot contact him on his mobile.

They were then alerted that Father Lee had committed suicide.

Everyone was sad, including the parishioner.

Hae Il was sure that Father Lee was the last one to commit suicide.  Being a Catholic, suicide is a mortal sin.

He went to the morgue for the autopsy and found evidence that he was dragged by his armpit.  It was not a suicide.

But the police said that it was because his shoes were arranged neatly by the cliff before he jumped down.

Hae Il was determined to find out the truth. He consulted Kyung Sun, but even she said it was a suicide.

Then it was reported on the news that Father Lee committed suicide because he cannot face a pending case of sexually harassing little girls.

This is obviously a smear campaign from the property developers that even Kyung Sun thinks they have gone too far.

  • Genre: Semi-Autobiographical, Romance, Youth
  • Release Date: TBA
  • Origin: China; Based on the novel of Qiao Yi
  • Cdrama: 35 Episodes

  • Janice Wu as Qiao Yi
  • Zhang Yu Jian as Yan Mo

If you had watched An Oriental Odyssey and was rooting for the characters of Janice Wu and Zhang Yu Jian to get together because they did have lovely sweet chemistry, then the powers that be have granted fans to enjoy a second drama for these two.

I heard the book is a sweet romance.   It is the author’s own love story which started in high school.

Yan Mo apparently was a brilliant student while Qiao Yi may be on the lackadaisical side.  Just before graduation, they promised one another to further pursue their studies abroad but due to Qiao Yi’s family situation, she had to renege on their deal.

Four years later, they are back in touch and Qiao Yi started her sweet assault to get her man back but he was already taken!  Oh No…

So this will be a treat.

Another treat is that it looks like Viki will be subbing this when it finally grace the screen.

Touch Your Heart (KDrama Review & Summary)

  • Origin: South Korea
  • Kdrama: 16 Episodes

  • Lee Dong Wook as Kwon Jun Rok
  • Yoo In Na as Oh Yoon Seo
  • Lee Sang Woo as Kim Se Won
  • Son Sung Yoon as Yoo Yeo Reum
  • Jang Ki Yong (guest ep 1)
  • Shim Hung Tak as Choi Yoon Hyuk
  • Lee Joon Hyuk as Yeon Jun Suk
  • Kim Hee Jung as Kim Hae Young
  • Jang So Yeon as Yang Eun Ji
  • Park Kyung Hye as Dan Moon Hee
  • Oh Jung Se as Yeon Joon Kyu

I have been looking forward to a collaboration between Lee Dong Wook and Yoo In Na since the Goblin.  Their chemistry crackled and her it is.

Diving in, watch this post!

Episode 1

Yoo In Na is just adorable in this drama,  I love her acting as an inept actress.  Her scene with the gorgeous Jang Ki Yong, who was a cameo role as an actor, is so brilliant,  Based on this first episode alone, which I enjoyed thoroughly, I can totally recommend this as a joyful Kdrama to watch.

Anyway, Oh Yoon Seo is the goddess of Korean entertainment but her brilliance had somewhat deemed because of she was involved in a drug use scandal.

Suddenly no one wants to know her. Because her persona was of being sweet and pure, her lack of acting prowess was ignored but now with the scandal, no one really wants to hire her services as an actress.

Her manager though brought a script when he was visiting her.  The script was not meant for her but for another actress.

Oh Yoon Seo grabbed the script and started reading it and in her mind eyes can see Jang Ki Yong, tall and gorgeous playing the lead.  The scene playing in her mind complete with theme tune was pure Descendant of the Sun.  This scene is so hilarious.

She suddenly decided that the role was made for her, the lead was her.  After all, she did study law in college.

Oh Yoon Seo called the writer and arranged a meeting.  She badgered the writer to give to the role to her.  She promised her everything.  The condition by the writer was that she had to work as a secretary in a real law firm for three months.

And here she meets a band of zany people, who are nice in their own way, which I like.

The CEO of the law firm was her number one fan.  He chose Kwon Jun Rok to be her boss.  He is quiet and rather taciturn.  And told her off for wearing party clothes, completely inappropriate for the office.

Oh Yoon Seo though has guts, so she turned up next morning prepared to tackle the secretarial job, having researched the role and duties of one.

Episode 2

Oh Yoon Seo is one determined lady.

Even the cold Jun Rok is beginning to thaw.  He realised how hard it was for Oh Yoon Seo to just overcome the constant gossips, criticism, and failures in her life and not to show negative emotion to the public.

He was also impressed that Oh Yoon Seo was not just a bimbo or scatty celebrity.  She has grit and was willing to blend in and learn.  He told her that they should start again.  He will treat her as his real secretary.  He extended his hand to shake on it and she was running back towards him when she once again about to fall on the ground but he saved her this time straight into his arms.  There was frisson there which they both felt.  ahhhh

Episode 3-4

Jun Rok is finally giving Oh Yoon Seo a chance to prove herself.  He is getting to know her and what he found is someone far from flakey woman as he first thought.

She intrigues him.

Oh Yoon Seo is getting involved more in his cases and she had been quite helpful and rather instrumental in making a taciturn client talks.

Their case on episode four is about a girl who thinks she is being stalked by an ex-boyfriend who refuses to accept that they have broken up.

Oh Yoon Seo offered to accompany the girl to her apartment to get the SD card or something but she found more than she bargained for.  The girl’s ex-boyfriend was hiding under the settee which surprised Oh Yoon Seo so much, it made her scream.

The boyfriend became violent as well, thank goodness, Jun Rok listened to his gut instinct and followed the girl to the apartment.

Actually Jun Rok found out a bit more of Oh Yoon Seo’s history.  She was a victim of a stalker, who was from a very affluent family.

When Oh Yoon Seo reported it, it was covered up.

And it looks like the case is not over as someone is still monitoring Oh Yoon Seo’s texts to Jun Rok.
