Mayweather Vs Pacquiao
Pacquiao Vs Mayweather
This is potentially the most exciting match in years.
Today, as I was attending a really interesting and fun training course, I got talking to the other attendees. We discussed everything under the sun as one does including got to discuss what is happening around the world. What excite them most was the much awaited and was speaking to some training colleagues discussing the BIGGEST Boxing match for decades and the consensus was that Floyd Mayweather has a slight edge over Manny Pacquiao, but they want Manny to win the game.
Mayweather is a rock solid bruiser, unbeaten since he turned professional in 1996, Pacquiao the underdog is a whirlwind who can wear down an opponent. If Manny can sustain his high octane style he may get the drop on Mayweather.
Well done Manny Pacquiao!
He showed his Filippino ‘True Grit’, bouncing back from his defeat to Juan Manuel Marquez; he fought with all his might and earned unanimous points victory over Brandon Rios in Macau to claim the WBO international welterweight title.
Age does not wither the 34 year old who dedicated the fight to his compatriots back in the Philippines affected by typhoon Yolanda/Haiyan.
Unfortunately Manny’s hero turned to zero overnight. His win is overshadowed by a claim of unpaid tax amounting to 2.2 billion pesos (HK$390 million) Manny has to pay or risk having assets seized.
Pacquiao’s fight promoter Bob Arum, has insisted that allegations of unpaid taxes from US bouts in 2008 and 2009 are false, Arum’s Top Rank agency made certain the proper money was paid to US authorities just to avoid such problems. Philippine Tax Commissioner Kim Henares stated that if Pacquiao paid the 30 per cent tax rate in the United States, there would still be extra charges due in the Philippines because it had a higher rate of 32 per cent.
With the current Napoles, PDAF Pork Barrel corruption scandals We can wonder what happens to the tax and any windfall from Manny, where will it go..to the deserving, or to fill the pockets and coffers of the corrupt officials 🙁
The BIR should have waited for at least a few weeks to let the people and Manny savour the victory for the Philippines!
BIR, you are so out of touch!
