Admin Team

Welcome to GlobalGranary.org. also known as GlobalGranary.Life 🙂

Those who have visited us when we were still GlobalGranary.com, we would like to invite you to come and see us here often too. The new site is in a different format. We are now WordPress based, therefore the kind or style of posting is slightly different from back when we were globalgranary.com. We have continued to post interesting and edifying articles and commentaries as before.

If you happen to require a topic for discussion, please let us know and we will see if we can do it for you.

If you would like to become a member of this site, kindly let us know and we would be happy to add you.

Let me introduce the crew:

I am Jean Morton born and bred in the Philippines, ergo the rather large amount of Filipino oriented articles and news here. I graduated in the Philippines with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in English. I taught at the Technological Institute of the Philippines for a while and then came down to the UK.

I have been living here in London for 32 years and I must say that it has been a wonderful experience. I have made friends and the family is growing which helps alleviate homesickness for the Philippines, although UK is home now. 🙂

Growing up in the Philippines was completely different from the UK.  It does not mean one is better.

Read my blogs about my life in Marag and in Manila to glean what I mean. 😉

I like posting quirky and informative articles because I love to learn new things all the time and would like to share this new knowledge with like-minded people.  I absolutely adore poetry and quotations, probably you may have noticed that as well! LOL

I am married to Peter Morton, whose expertise is in science as well as history and it shows!!!  Thanks to him the site is bursting with weird and wonderful blogs.

For past post, please scroll through the archive/category page/area.  I am sure there is something which would interest you.

If Peter is left alone, he would probably spend his days just reading.  He reads and reads and reads and reads some more.  Probably why we click because I like reading too.

Peter has been tireless in his blogging.  His articles are fun, interesting and informative.  His space and cosmos knowledge is astronomical 😉

We love blogging because we do talk a great deal on many subjects and we would like others to join in with us.

Peter is also extremely able with the camera.  He has been taking photographs in a big way ever since I came to know him.

GlobalGranary.org is very lucky in this respect as we have accumulated many wonderful photographs through Peter’s effort or rather a hobby!

If you want to see more of his photos please follow his flickr link: https://www.flickr.com/photos/125221717@N08/

And last but not the least of the Admin team is James Morton, no one is more technical than James himself, thank you, James.  He is very patient in answering and troubleshooting any problem when it comes with the techno bits here.  What I have learned regarding computers, I’ve learned from James.

His blogs about computer problems have been perennially popular from inception.

We are so proud of him.  Most of his computer/internet know-how are self-taught (& self-thought 😉  yeah really).

Every technical problem we get, he solves effortlessly.  Where would we be without him?!!!  HTTP 404 perhaps! 😉

……………….

Please join us.  We would really appreciate your comments especially to point out typos.  😉 (Must learn to proofread before posting)

Hope to see you here with your comments on the various blogs and articles.

Thank you!

Cheers from all of us and hope to see you here again.

  4. We must apologise to our regular visitors. The site was off the grid for most of yesterday and earlier today. Apparently there was a nasty virus in our main server.

We are back as you can see.

Hope this incidident has not put you off visiting us.

  5. WHAT IS GLOBALGRANARY.ORG?

I just found a very apt word that I hope would describe GlobalGranary.Org.

    CYCOPEDE
Cycopede is all but unique to Webster, who defined it as both a variation of cyclopedia (as in encyclopedia), and as a term for the entire “circle of human knowledge.”

    Thanks

    1. GlobalGranary.org is also a compilation of chapbooks.
A chapbook is an early type of popular literature printed in early modern Europe. The tradition of chapbooks arose in the 16th century, as soon as printed books became affordable, and rose to its height during the 17th and 18th centuries. Many different kinds of ephemera, popular, or folk literature were published as chapbooks, such as almanacs, children’s literature, folk tales, nursery rhymes, pamphlets, poetry, and political and religious tracts. When illustrations are included in chapbooks, they are considered popular prints.

  11. OMG!  It has been torturous few days.  I did not know that I would be suffering from blogging withdrawals in such a big way.

I have missed all these.  I have missed reading comments.  I have missed thinking what to blog and most especially I was so upset that I was missing the chance to blog some current good materials.

Often I find myself saying, I wish I could blog that….

But anyway the globalgranary.life is back.

    Thanks for your patience.

    Cheers
