Binay: One Law for Public Servants In the Philippines

Apparently there was an incident last month where Mayor Junjun Binay of Makati and his convoy of cars were prevented by zealous security guards in entering restricted area of Dasmarinas Village, a posh, élite residential area in the Philippines.

Binay: One Law for Public Servants In the Philippines

Bravo for the security guards, you would  think, wouldn’t you?  Right action to prevent terrorism or loitering.  They are doing their job that they are being paid for.  They should be commended for their action.  The residents of Dasma can live in a safe environment knowing that their security guards bulldoggedly guarding them.    You do get what you pay for (for a premium)!  But alas, Mayor Junjun BINAY carted their sorry asses to the nearest police station to answer for their disrespectful attitude and discourtesy.

Under some pretext that the security guards have lapsed licensed guns, they had to go to the police for inspection and humiliation!

No one messes with a Binay!   The public servant Binay is not a servant – certainly not for the people.

Your votes made him earn that special protocol of respect and courtesy whether you think he is a prat, a twat  and rather with delusions of grandeur, which seems to be a family trait.

Senior Binay, Philippines’ VP said that the guards disrespected little Junjun, he is the Mayor of Makati, you know!

Good old sister Nance said the story was old history.  A matter of humiliating security guards who were only doing their jobs is non-news as far as old Nance is concerned.  I suppose that is understandable for Nance to say this, after all she is all new to this public servant malarkey.  Nance is after all a senator, who is still on the job training, wearing her ‘L’Plates.  She is still trying to practise her speeches.  By the way If we leave things to Nance the matter of Philippine national language, I bet without a doubt, it would become  TAGLISH.  Nance seems to have trouble speaking in either Tagalog/Pilipino or English. 😉

Anyway the Binays seem to think that their position in society makes them cut above the rest!  They are public servants with a difference!  It is just a word because they are actually Lords and Ladies of Misrule, along with the other élite family dynasties in positions of power!

Onli in da Pilipins 😉

SONA Ternos and Barongs

I thought perhaps the ‘Freeloader’  blog is really getting hot and it seems fit that we should have a bit of a breather, a respite if you like! 😉

Mind you, here in Global Granary, we appreciate all your comments; after all we are trying to be a granary of ideas, topics, news, views, etc.

It is good that it is stimulating much interest!

Some of the comments received especially from those who, in their kindest possible way, tried to bring in a reasonable defence for Jeanne Lim Napoles’ cluelessness about the whole malarkey are equally appreciated.

Our Blog item was to highlight an allegation and the fundamental wider issue which asks what happens to all the potentially life changing (Pork Barrel) funding doled out, can it be rigorously accounted for and shown to be spent on what it was was meant for ?

Why is there such mass mis-appropriation of money with these annual pork barrrel fests?!!!

Anyway as I’ve said let us pause for a moment.  Let us all have some time to catch our thoughts and rejoice with what PNoy’s 2013 SONA has to offer to all of us.

Ooops that is another controversial topic in itself, so let us focus on the beautiful Ternos and Barongs worn by the famous and who would like to be famous and powerful.

Let’s talk clothes!

I thought the Aquino girls were beautifully turned out.  I was slightly disappointed with what Kris was wearing though.  Even with my fertile imagination I can’t see it as in any way a Filipiniana gown; nevertheless she was gorgeous as always, in Morticia-Adams- in- red-sort-of-way, if a bit out of place among her sisters, who were in varying shades of the family’s adopted colour of yellow.

What about the new senator, Nancy Binay, she scrubbed up well 😉  I like her very eye-catching terno, it brings out her very morena skin.  Good inspiration to us Filipinas who have been blessed with darker skin. (I say throw away those skin-whitening stuff.  Embrace your inner morena.  You are lovely as you are.  White women pay a fortune, sometimes even dicing with their health, to have the same colour as our skin.)

Grace Poe’s gown was lovely and simple.  I like the embellishment of gold flowers across her upper body and sleeve.

Heart Evangelista was drop-dead gorgeous in her well fitting terno.  She looks like a modern Filipina who is modest but not averse to having fun.  Lovely jabby, chocolate squeezy or should that be chiz squeezy? 😉

Jinkee Pacquiao’s terno is beautiful but rather too dark.  It was too heavy, it sort of engulfed her a bit.   If it had been in the palest of blue, she would have had a real winner.

Alfred and  Yasmine Vargas came as Ken and Barbie.  Sweet!

Dawn Zulueta got it to a T.  She looks like a Filipina goddess. Jose Rizal’s Maria Clara would have looked like Dawn, I think.

Sorry but I thought Loren Legarda did not put much thought to what she wore.  Her skirt looked like a last minute job.  Something, she picked up from the back of her car, her dog blanket perhaps?!!! Miao ;).  She just then tied a belt or pinned it  to keep it secure, SONA was not an event to have a wardrobe malfunction. LOL

Let see how some other Filipinos marked the SONA day.

THE BEAUTIFUL

Despite having little or no money and a quality of existence the below carry on and show the rest of us resilience of life!

No heirs, airs or graces- what you see is what you get!

Nancy Binay – The Senator – Taglish Queen

Nancy Binay

Nancy Binay

Nancy Binay is showing some balls already. She did not attend her own proclamation because it does not mean much to her. She wanted confirmation that she’s in before she starts dancing the jig, so to speak.

But isn’t this a prima donna attitude? Would she be having that tunnel vision mentality when attending or refusing to attend Congress? She does not have anything to say at that time, so it would be a waste attending Congress?!!! She can’t be asked! 😉

By the way, is Nancy fluent in Tagalog and English? Or is she one of the pidgin/Taglish speakers? The National Language killers?  But then again, do we have a national language?

Actually I do feel a bit sorry for her. She has received a lot of racist remarks because of the colour of her skin. Nevermind them Nancy, your dark skin only highlight your beautiful teeth! Bravo!

Allegedly Nancy Binay and her staff will be attending a crash course in governmental policies. Who will be paying for this UP week-long course?

If the money will not come out of her own pocket, I propose that it is only right to send every Filipino of voting age to UP for a crash course of how to choose leaders. Make them aware how governments in progressive countries are run.

Thinking about it more, it should be made mandatory to teach people that their vote counts that they are ultimately the lawmakers for electing their representatives in the lawmaking bodies of the country. They get the people in Government that they deserve as they put them there!
