Commemorative Ceramic WWI Poppy
We finally received our commemorative poppy last Friday! We were very pleasantly surprised as we were expecting to get it towards the end of January or early to mid February this year. It was one of the 888,246 that stood in silent tribute to the fallen as the Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red.
When we went to visit the site of the blood red sea of ceramic poppies at the Tower of London, we can’t help but admire how spectacular they looked, and we were overwhelmed that each and every poppy represented a life cruelly snuffed out too soon of those British men and women who went to battle during the First World War.
Anyway, the poppy we got was a perfect one which came complete with a very rusty steel stalk.
Peter had fun photographing the poppy. He took it in the garden and under the glow of the wintry sun, he artistically created shadows 😉 and different poses with the poppy.
