Hylotelephium telephium – Sedum telephium
This plant belongs to the succulent plants. Sedum telephium is absolutely beautiful amongst the border plants but it could also be planted anywhere; in some sunny position or under shade, in tubs, under trees, just anywhere and everywhere.
Apparently sedums are Eurasian in origin, i.e. can be found from Eastern Europe to China.

Autumn Joy, a variety of sedum telephium is my favourite. They have beautiful bluish, greenish leaves and flowers in late summer and early autumn, just the plant to give colour to the garden when all the summer flowers are fading away. It produce dense heads of tiny pink, read and white flowers.
Sedum are self sufficient. They need minimal care. They tolerate the sun and drought and also the wintry weather. The flowers are held by a more than a foot tall stems which die down during late autumn. These should be cut to make way for the new growth, which can be carefully devided to make more plants.
