Episode 1

I am very impressed with this first episode.  It is well made with lots of intrigues.  It is so intriguing I am not sure what was happening. Seriously! 🙁

Anyway, apparently The Eight are superbeings from the underworld who wanted the 10 Walkers Scroll so they can go legit and live a normal life.

The Eight are currently seven (?), LOL, because there is a vacancy for a leader, the holder.  The predestined holder is a scholar.

Master Ba Xin, who was in disguise as a storyteller in a wheelchair, is the King of The Eight.  He had been waiting for 20 years for the scholar to appear.

Meanwhile, our hero, Hua Min Chu was on a train from Japan to Beijing.  He had been studying in Japan for the last three years.

He was with his engineering major junior, Ke Shu, on the train when chaos started to happen.

It began with Hua Gu, the eldest disciple fo the Queen of Thousand Hands.  Hua Gu with her lightning speed hand was able to steal valuables from the first-class carriage passengers without anyone seeing the culprit.

Hua Gu, however, was waiting for the police to arrest her.  After some blah blah blah, Hua Gu again disappeared.  The authorities searched for her from carriage to carriage.

They got into the carriage where Hua Min Chu was. Hua Min Chu was chill but his junior Ke Shu got really distressed so Hua Min Chu protected him.

The head of the guards was about to punish Hua Min Chu but a policeman said that Hua MIn Chu is the adopted son of a bigwig in Beijing.

So the police continued to search the train until they got to the last one occupied by  Lady Jin Xiu and her female retinue.

Lady Jin Xue is very famous for her beauty, thus she is the so-called Queen of Beauty and Queen of Entertainment.

The police asked for permission to search the carriage, which Lady Jin Xiu granted after a fashion.  Meaning, she may have allowed them to enter but she used her fan and hairpiece to emit a powder that made the searchers think that they had done their duty.

The powder only affects men.

When the police had gone and were puzzled but somehow satisfied with the outcome of their search, Hua Gu came out from her hiding place at Lady Jin Xue’s carriage.

Hua Gu and Lady Jin Xue went to search for YiFang, the King of Assasins who was being held in the cargo bay.  When they got there Yi Fang was no longer in the cell but some policemen came barging in.  Suddenly a figure in black annihilated the police, it was a very masculine Yi Fang.

Hua Gu, Lady Jin Xue, and Yi Fang went to the carriage where Hua Min Chu was.  Apparently the 10 Walkers Scroll was somewhere in Seat No 15.

The search got heated and then there was a bomb that was ticking and had only 3 minutes until it explodes.

Hua Min Chu volunteered poor Ke Shu to stop the bomb.

Even knowing that the bomb would not explode as it was only the first episode where most of the Eights will die if it did, LOL, still, it was quite exciting to watch.  It has an edge on seat feel to it.

Everyone was relieved but when they looked at seat 15, the two occupants were dead, one with arsenic poisoning and the other stabbed in the heart with the Japanese dagger owned by Hua Min Chu.

So soon as the train stopped in Beijing, everyone hurried to leave.

Lady JIn Xue told Hua MIn Chu to go see her at her place.

Meanwhile, Hua Min Chu waited for his sister Zhong Yao to appear.

Zhong Yao was his adopted sister but he does not realise yet that they had been matched to get married to each other.

Zhong Yao held a welcome dinner for Hua Min Chu to introduce him to various business partners. Each of the partners offered him a position in the company.

One by one, Hua Min Chu turned down the offers with an insult of their companies’ corruption and lack of empathy with their compatriots.  He told them that he was going to find his own job.

And he did, he went to Lady Jin Xue and was offered a job as a drama director.

Hua Min Chu, tried to turn down the job at first because he does not want to work in a brothel.

Lady Jin Xue immediately corrected him that she does not run a brothel. She has a legit drama production stage shows.

Somewhere out there was Zhang Yu who is the King of Deception.  He was being convinced by the Commander of the Garrison to turn into the dark side.

Wow!  That was a long summary for just an episode.

Episode 2

Hua Min Chu started working at Qingyai House (Lady Jin Xue’s theatre) but was arrested immediately for the murder of the man in the train.

Qi Ming tried to intervene but was arrested as well.

Zhong Yao got to hear of it and asked Uncle Xuan to bail Hua Min Chu out.

Hua Min Chu was not at all grateful because he really wanted to court and prove his innocence, instead, everyone would think he paid for his freedom.

As it is, he went back to Qingyai House who has a VIP night.

It was attended by all the elite and the most powerful was the Superintendent Luan.

Hua Min Chu and his troupe presented an exciting drama that involved maps and fightings.

The prop map was secretly changed to the 10 Walkers Scroll by Bai Xian.

It was immediately recognised by those in the know during the play.

Commander Fang immediately went backstage to get the scroll but Lady Jin Xue was an able martial artist.

Though she got a pummeling she was able to throw back the scroll into the stage where the play was still going.

Hua Min Chu picked it up and Lady Jin Xue appeared, her mask was removed showing her stunning face.

Everyone was in awe.

Apparently Lady Jin Xue is a highly praised courtesan.  Each VIP night she would choose a man to spend the night with her and Superintendent Luan assumed that she had picked Commander Fang as he was already backstage.

Commander Fang left with the rest of the audience as he was sure he was not going to get any joy from Lady Jin Xue after beating her badly earlier.

Anyway, some of the Eight gathered on the stage when Gua Dao Ren appeared and tried to snatch the scroll.

Yi Fang battled it out with Dao Ren and then Hua Gu gave the scroll to Hua MIn Chu for safekeeping for three days until The Eight Assembly.

Yi Fang instructed his assassins to guard and keep Hua Min Chu safe.

Hua Min Chu was getting ready for bed when Dao Ren appeared before him.

She was ready to kill him for the scroll when she grabbed him from the back revealing his birthmark.

Instantly she turned lovey-dovey towards him.  Apparently his back has the mark of the Sword Gate, which means to her that he was from her clan and they had been promised to marry each other one day.

They were in a very compromising position when Zhong Yao found them.

Hua Min Chu ran after his sister and explained that it was a misunderstanding.  He does not even know the girl who told him about the mark on his back.

Zhong Yao told him that he was a magnet for people like the girl because he was so innocent and trusting.

Meanwhile, Zhang Yu was planning to completely take over being the master of Deception.  He was intrigued though about Hua Min Chu and had the old story investigated.

Apparently, the child of Yu Zhi, the real Eight, master of Deception had died at the age of three but when they examine the skull of the buried child, it was from fifty years ago rather than 20 years.

Ba Xian was napping in the street when a man in black appeared.

The man asked Ba Xian why he gave away the scroll he entrusted to him 20 years ago.

Ba Xian told him that he found a successor, Yu Zhi’s own son.

Episode 3

Zhong Yao had been kidnapped by Zhang Yu which coincidentally happened almost at the same time that the ladies at Qingyin House had all been arrested.

So Qingyin House and the Eights with Hua Min Chu decided to join forces to rescue Zhong Yao and the Qingyin girls.

Episode 4

The ransom for Zhong Yao was the appearance of Hua Min Chi with the scroll at the Royal Plaza Hotel.

Lady Jin Xue went with him.

Hua Min Chu and Zhang Yu started playing Russian Roulette.  He was advised by Ke Shi to take the first shot according to Newton’s Law of probability.

Hua Min Chu was forced to sign a confession letter fo killing those two men on the train.

Zhong Yao was very worried because the murder would carry capital punishment.

When Supt Luan held a press conference he said that the murder was a gang work by a group called the Eight, he was quizzed about differing evidence and accounts from those people who were on the train during the murder.

Episode 5

It was the Eight Meeting which happened only every eight years.  The venue was at Zhang Yu’s mansion.

Master Ba Xian started to announce the attendees: Jin Xui Niang, the 69th Queen of Entertainers, Hua Gu, the 72nd Queen of Thousand Hands – Disciple of Master Lang Ting, Xi Shui, the 75th Queen of Poison, Yi Fang, the 97th King of Assassins, Zhang Yu, the 82nd King of Deception, Liu Er, represented by a bird, is the 68th King of Spies, all previous Kings of Spies had chosen to remain incognito as tool of their trade, thus they send representation and surprise of all, Ke Shu as the 71st King of Mechanics.

Hua MIn Chu was flabbergasted as Ke Shu seemed the scaredy-cat type.

So the eight are actually 10 leaders including Ba Xian, the King and Hua Min Chu, the Holder.

Ba Xian was giving the scroll to Jin Xui as the new holder and be in charge of disbanding the Eight when Zhang Yu grabbed the scroll.

Zhong Yao said that the meeting has nothing to do with her and her brother so they have to leave.

But Zhang Yu disagreed.

He told Hua Min Chu that it has everything to do with him.  `He asked if he wanted to know the secret of his parentage.

Zhang Yu said that 24 years ago the Queen of Poison, Liu Yan from Kunming came to Nanjing and met Yu Zhi, the King of Deception.  They fell in love and had an illegitimate child.

It was against the Eight’s law to fall in love with someone from another faction so Yu Zhi and Liu Yan killed themselves and also their child.

The authorities had only found two bodies but never recovered the child’s body so he was presumed alive.  Being a child of the Poison Queen, the child would have a sword Gate birthmark.

They found Hua Min Chu with the birthmark and as Zhang Yu said, the members of the Eight have a duty to kill him.

Xi Shiu protected him but finally, Hua Min Chu had had enough and told them that he was very disappointed with the group because his situation is a trifling matter compared with what was happening around them.  The corruption, the despotism, the lawlessness in their country was rampant.  With the Eight’s combined power they should be fighting for justice.

Suddenly Master Ba Xian interrupted and said that Hua Min Chu was right.  He then flicked the scroll out of Zhang Yu hands into Jin Xui.

She is the new holder but then she said that she’s now weak and would like to pass the role to Hua Min Chu.

Hua Min Chu continued to decline but his sister knelt down in front of him begging him to accept.

Zhang Yu was so annoyed being bypass for the holder position, he signaled the waiting police to attack.

By the way, Xi Shiu passed a love buy through a mouth to mouth into Hua Min Chu.  It means they have to constantly stay together. 🙂

Hua Min Chu also learned that he was expected to marry his ‘sister’ 🙂

Episode 6

After getting caught up in with university students demonstrating against racism or was it imperialism against the current government, Hua Min Chu got shot in the arm.

He was rescued by children belonging to a shantytown located in a forbidden city.

But the soldiers/policemen were relentless in locating Hua Min Chu who finally caught up with the rest of the Eight.

Again, Lady Jin Xin offered him the scroll as its holder but Hua Min Chu was having none of it.

They begged him, they pleaded with him, some on bended knees, but he categorically refused to tell them that what has the Eight ever done to him except destroying his family.

They the police were almost upon them in the forest.  Finally, Hua Min Chu took the scroll.

Meanwhile, his sister went to see Superintendent Luan regarding going to America with her fiance from an invitation from Eleanor Roosevelt.

Zhong Yao tried bribing Supt Luan with fighter planes from the US.

I have to say that Ci Ci Wang is absolutely gorgeous and elegant as Zhong Yao.

Episode 7

Hua Min Chu told Zhong Yao that he had always seen her as his sister and marrying her now was uncomfortable for him.

Zhong Yao however said that she felt the same when she was younger but over the years she had come to terms with it and even looking forward to being married to him.

Episode 8

Hua Min Chu and the Eight tried to plot how to save the students and teachers from the firing squad.  And against the opinion of the other Eight members, Hua Min Chu also mentioned that it was only right to rescue Zhang Yu from being publicly hanged.

Commander Zhang made Superintendent Luan so mad that it was decided that he will leave Beijing and be transferred to another police force.

Deception, the first of the Eight has been disbanded, or have they?

Episode 9

Xi Shui overheard Hua MIn Chu asking Zhong Yao if she had found a doctor to remove the love bug within him.  Xi Shui became very upset and ran off.

Hua Min Chu found her in the dining room.  She asked him if he liked her at all.

Hua Min Chu can’t say anything but started crying.

I have to admit that these two have no chemistry at all.

Seven Tan’s role is just too hyper and too random. It is hard to imagine how a sophisticated university student would fall for an immature jester-like character.

There was more chemistry between Lady Jin Xue and Yi Fang when he hoisted her across his shoulder to carry her to safety and this was just a brief moment only.

Anyway, Commander Fang was not only transferred but also demoted to Kunming by Supirendented Luan.

Zhong Yao left for America, leaving Hua Min Chu behind.

Episode 10

It turned out that Zhong Yao never left the country because she was much too busy being Master Liu ‘Er the King of Spies.  A big surprise!  She is one of the Eight.

As Hua Min Chu was a bit of a fugitive, they needed someone to help them crossover to Kunming.

Lady Jin Xue recommended a retired hairpin entertainer, Miss Feng Min, who is a sister of a powerful military officer who has had just passed away.

Miss Feng Min proved to be a very important person as she was invited by every military officer to the point that she was kidnapped.

The External Eight had to help keep her safe.

Episode 11

Hua Min Chu brought Miss Feng Min at the place of the Thousand Hands as being the safest place to be,

Meanwhile, Hua MIn Chu allowed Xi Shu to take her to the Poison village because he was desperate to have the love bug take out from him.

He had a surprise when he received such hatred from the Master of Poison who was supposed to be his mother’s living sister, her auntie.

But her auntie blamed him for his parents’ affair and the ultimate death of his mother.

Episode 12

Hua Min Chu and Xi Shu were returning back to the Thousand Hands village when they were assaulted by a man in black who was so good in martial art, Hua Min Chu ended up cold on the ground.

When he came to, Xi Shu was gone.

Episode 13

Hua Gu had to dress in her girl’s dress when she was at Qian Yang Mill with Master Qin and she looked very pretty as well.

Commander Fang, who purposely shot himself in the arm, suddenly showed up And Qian Yang Mill, asking to see the Holder for help.  He said that the Holder had to save him because it was because of the Holder having brought Feng Min to KinMing that everything started to go wrong for Commander Fang.

Most of the Eight told Commander Fang to piss off because he had been trying to kill and disband the Eight at every turn.

But Hua Min Chi ordered that they should take Commander Fang at the Poison Cave to cure the commander of his poisoned injury.

When they got there they can’t get in through the first entrance so they got to the other side where they met Xi He who cured the Commander.

Xi He told them that the Commander will get better after he had a rest but they can all leave.

As they were leaving Hua Gu and Ju Yue were both sick and poisoned.

Hua Min Chu started shouting for Xi Shui for help.

She of course turned up and Hua Min Chu was happy to see her.

She made for Hua Gua and Ju Yue to be more aware but she said that it was only temporary.

She has a Golden Pupa with her to cure one.

Hua Gu and Ju Yue started arguing to cure the other.

In the end, Ju Yue grabbed the golden pupa and forced it into Hua Gu’s mouth.

Apparently the effect of not having a pupa cure was a permanent muteness so he confessed his true feelings for Hua Gu before he becomes mute.

Xi Shui was so moved it made her brain function and told them that there is another golden pupa at the butterfly valley.

I thought it would be a rather perilous journey but they went to get the pupa and got back to Hua Gu and Ju Yue immediately. He was saved.

Episode 14

But the real drama was just starting.

Finally, Hua Min Chu found out that sister Zhong Yao is one of the Eight, she is the Queen of Spies.

He was disappointed that he did not tell him but she reminded him that it was protocol for spies to tell no one.

But the Master of Poison was determined to create a friction between the two. She told Hua Min Chu that Zhong Yao’s mother was a vile and deceitful woman who was so jealous of Min Chu’s mother that she instigated the prosecution of Hua Min Chu’s parents leading to their deaths.

Suddenly, Hua Min Chu can’t bear to be with his sister, as if he does not know him anymore. She is full of secrets and lies.

He did not give poor Zhong Yao a chance to explain that she did not know what her mother did to his parents until now.

Anyway, the Master of Poison said that they can’t leave the cave.

Suddenly, Xi Shui was on her bended knees in front of the Poison Master begging her to left the others go. She offered to give up her queenship of poison as well as a promise never to see Hua Min Chu ever again.

Hua Min Chu did try to stop her but so briefly.  No chemistry at all and he knew it too.  LOL

Commander Fang met the Black Bob, who told him that he must become the Holder but to do so he needed to get both the 10 Walkers Scroll as well as the Mountain and River Scroll.  Combining the two scrolls would mean world domination.

Hua Mn Chu and the gang were on their way back when they heard that Qing Yang Mill is under attack.

Soldiers went inside Qing Yang Mill to abduct Feng Ming pretending that Commander Yang sent them.

Master Qin overruled the Eight with Feng Min from surrendering. She wisely said that whether they surrender or not the soldiers were there to kill them all.

It was a tense moment when Commander Fang finally arrived.  It turned out that it was commander Ding who was the culprit.

One of the soldiers was determined to carry out his order and reached for his guy to shoot Feng Min but Master Qin covered her and got shot instead.

In the wake of Master Qin, Ba Xian turned up and said that there is a rat in their vicinity.

Hua Min Chu looked at all the people around them and trying to fathom who could be the spy.

Episode 15

Hua Min Chu started investigating the Eight and companions who were around Feng Min.

Zhong Yao said that she had never betrayed him.

To smoke out the spy, Hua Min Chu gave each an envelope to look after which contained different fragments of where General Xu’s legacy was being kept.

Inside each of the envelope was a pawnshop ticket from various pawn shops.

Hua MIn Chu reckoned that the one who opened the envelope and went to the pawnshop will be the spy.

What he found was none of the Eight is a spy.

Because the real spy was the He Yun, the young boy who wanted to be the leader of the Thousand Hands.  He was very upset though that what he did cause his master’s life.

Anyway, who he was spying for promised him that he will become the leader of the Thousand Hands soon.

Meanwhile, Commander Fang had become indestructible.  Under General Ding Tian Ci’s command, they bombed the apothecary and then invaded the Sanye Hill Poison Cave where they killed every poison maiden but kidnapped Xi Shui.  The master of poison got away, though fatally injured, and was able to tell Hua MIn Chu what had happened.

As she was dying, she asked Hua MIn Chu to bury her in the water.

She does not want to be cremated like her sister, Hua MIn Chu’s mother, who died in a fire.  She also told him to look after Xi Shui and the Poison Sect.

Feng Min gave General Xu’s legacy to Hua Min Chu to read and look after.

Hua Min Chu got a ransom note asking for Feng Min and General Xu’s legacy in exchange for Xi Shui.

They prepared and plotted to fight back.

Meanwhile, Ba Xian and his weird black wooden ventriloquist puppet warned that 3rd of March is coming.

Episode 16

Sanye Hill is gone.  They had to completely flood it to kill General Ding’ army.

Xi Shui was obviously very upset.

Seeing her depressed, Ke Shu asked her what she wanted to eat as he was going to the night market.

He bought her yummy barbecue but he was not able to give them to her as he got kidnapped.

Ba Xian had told Hua Min Chu that the Ruyi (Mountains and Rivers Scroll) combined with the 10 Walkers Scroll during the summertime would bring treasures, a lot of it that it can build countries.

It is the 3rd of March, the Flower Festival as well as the day that General Xu’s Legacy was going to be read.

The Eight found Ke Shu bound and unconscious.  But as soon as he was awake, he told them that there is a bomb planted at the festival.

The bomb was under the seat of Feng Ming.  As soon as she stands up it will be activated to blow.

It was a race against time to defuse the bomb.

Episode 17

The bond was a bit tricky to defuse even by the master mechanic Ke Shu because it is interconnected to 8 to 13 currents.

Hua Min Chu asked the External Eight present to look for General Ding.

Yi Fang got him and Hua Min Chu announced to the crowd that General Ding did a lot of good and that General Xu thought highly of him so he should be on the stage.

General Ding was sweating in fear because he planted the bomb on the stage and if Feng Min gets up from her seat, the stage with everyone on it would blow up to smithereens.  So he himself told Feng Min not to get up and he also advised Ke Shu how to disarm the bomb.

Finally Feng Min got up from her seat and read General Xu’s legacy.

It is about giving up military rule and give back the power to the people.  One by one the generals confirmed that they will support General Xu’s legacy to bring peace by giving back the power to the people.

Even General Ding was shamed into saying the mantra.

After the death of Master Qin, the Thousand Hands was disbanded.

The Eight’s next mission is to find the Mountains and Rivers Scroll.

The Spies send a message that the M&R Scroll was in Bai Jin in Guagzhou.

So next destination is Guangzhou.

Guangzhou was a lot different from Beijing and Kunming.

Guangzhou is ruled by two powerful corporations, the Laoliquan, whose manager is Bai Jin; the other is Yunmen, whose manager is the newly returned Yu Bu Tang.

Laoliquan and Yunmen hated each other so much they go to skirmishes at any given opportunity.

The Laoliguan are the black suited gang while the Yunmen are the Red Tang suits.

Bai Jin was told by her board of directors that they should up their ante now that Yu Bu Tang is back in the country.  They said that they should take over a mechanical underground workshop so they can control their new inventions and creations of arms and ammunitions.

The board said the Mechanical is under the Eight and the holder is just about to arrive in Guangzhou.  He is Hua Min Chu.

Immediately a photofit of Hua Min Chu was being circulated for his warrant.

Yu Bu Tang was intrigued.

Meanwhile both Lady Jin Xiu and Qi MIng were in Guangzhou,

Qi Ming had opened a new theatre which he named JinMing after his and Lady Jin Xiu’s.  Awww

Qin Lan is really drop-dead gorgeous in qipao.

Episode 18

Hua Min Chu, Xi Shui and Hua Gu finally arrived in Guangzhou.

Hua Min Chu immediately noticed that there is something amiss. One look of him, people seemed to stay away almost in fright.

Then the Laoliquan appeared before him and then the YunMen at the opposite side.  It seemed the two factions were more interested in fighting each other because Hua Min Chu was able to get away.

But not for long because he was kidnapped by three brothers: 2nd Bro is called Four Blessings, 3rd Brother is called Three Scholars and 4th Brother is called Thirteen Wonders.

Hua Min Chu asked it seemed there were four brothers, who was the first brother?

The oldest brother was Master Ba Xian with his strange ebony puppet.

Meanwhile, Hua Gu advised Xi Shui to have a makeover so Hua Min Chu would look at her seriously.  She should dressed like Zhong Yao.

The character of Xi Shui really doesn’t make sense because she did take Hua Gu seriously and went to a boutique where she tried different clothes.

She then ran off without paying.

The clothes shop vendor followed her at JinMing Theatre when a few minutes before, Hua Min Chu did notice how lovely she looks but turned into dismay as she got into trouble again for stealing.

She was so upset that she ran away.  Hua Min Chu did not run after her.

Xi Shui, feeling hungry went into a restaurant and sated herself with wine and food.  And then she can’t pay and would have gotten into more trouble if Bai Lin did not intervene to offer and pay for her food and wine.

Seriously, surely Xi Shui would have known you have to pay for things after all she had been in Beijing and Kunming and had not been permanently enclosed in a cave.  Her storyline does not make sense. Seven Tan is so pretty and usually a good actress but the script is letting her down here.

Anyway, Bai Lin sort of taken her under her wing when she heard Xi Shui ranting about Hua Min Chu.

Xi Shui knew that the wine Bai Lin gave her was drugged but she pretended to be drugged because she remembered that Bai Lin was supposed to have the Mountain and Rivers Scroll.

Episode 19

Hua Gu tried to get into the warehouse of Laoliquan but it was armed by the mechanic which got her in trouble, almost her death.

Lanliquan had ordered to do a catalogue of what was in the warehouse.  They ascertained that nothing was missing, infact they know that their potential burglar was almost fatally harmed.

Bai Lin does have the Mountains and Rivers Scroll.  She was intrigued by it but had no clue what was it because to her, it was just a picture.

Anyway, she was still smarting from being summarily dismissed by the Master of Mechanic. She reckoned that only the holder could order the mechanic to provided her of the guns and arms she wanted.

To get Hua MIn Chu to come see her, she sent him the necklace of Xi Shui.

Hua Min Chu did turn up and told Bai Lin that he can’t do anything to help her because he came to Guangzhou to disband and dissolve the Mechanics but ordering them to create arms was defeating the purpose, he then left her fuming.

So she sent him another letter advising him to turn up to her place otherwise Xi Shui is history.

Meanwhile, Zhong Yao was also in Guanzhou and met up with the Bob Man (Abandoned from Deception).  He confirmed her suspicion that he, father to Hua Min Chu, was not dead but he was so disfigured it was impossible to show his face agin.

However, he said that he had been protecting Hua Min Chu over the years and he reckoned that he and she are the only ones than can really protect Hua Min Chu.  He can’t wait to see Hua Mn Chu and Zhong Ye get married.

Bai Xian went to the Master of the Mechanic to ask for his help regarding Lanliquan.

So when Hua MIn Chu went back for dinner at Bai Lin’s place, the Master of the Mechanics had also turned up.

The master suggested a gave for Hua MIn Chu and Bai Lin to play.

The Master said if Bai Lin wins, the Mechanics will be at her beck and call.

Bai LIn said if Hua Min Chu wins she was betting the scroll.

Episode 20

With the help of Ju Hue, Ke Shu was able to save Xi Shui from the Five Dial Lock.

Hua Min Chu was helped by Zhong Yao and to a certain extent by Yu Ba Ting of Yun Men who is not as power crazed as Bai Lin.

Bai Lin surrendered in the end and gave the Mountains and Rivers Scroll to Hua Min Chu.

Xi Shui ran into Hua Min Chu’s arms and promised to not be so disobedient anymore.  Still to chemistry whatsoever.  LOL

Poor Zhong Yao saw their mini-reunion and chose to just leave quietly.

Zhong Yao was not the only one heartbroken with the reunion of the two without chemistry, lol, Ke Shu was upset as well as he has a crush on Xi Shui.

Episode 21

Bai Lin was not ready to give up on the Mechanics so she had hired elite mercenaries to attack Guangzhou and Mo City.

Mo City was a circular building that is protected by 23 mechanisms that were perfected a thousand years ago.  Mo City is currently led by four masters who are very confident in the protection of the city.

Ke Shu brought Hua Min Chu and Xi Shui to the city.  They were warmly welcomed but their warning was frowned upon.

Hua Min Chu cannot really do much against minds that were so closed up to new ideas.  So they decided that they will protect the city from the background against the imminent attack from Laoliquan and Bai LIn.

Bai Lin had already planted a turncoat mechanic in her pay within the city.

Episode 22

It was the Assessment Day at Mo City.

One by one, the apprentices, including Ke Tu (Ke Shu’s father) showed off their inventions.  The four masters were unimpressed.

Then the renegade Feng Ben Nuo appeared with his machine gun.  He passed the machine guy to one of the masters to assess.

Everyone was aghast that Feng Ben Nuo had come back.  He had been exiled several years ago for producing gunpowder and armoury in secret.  It goes against the Ancestral Aim of Mo City to never produce anything that could harm humans.

The masters and the holder could really not do anything to immediately contain Feng Ben Nuo because he was able to bring in him armed men and infiltrated the city.

As a last recourse, the Holder challenged Feng Ben Nuo to a game of Three Axes.

Feng Ben Nuo agreed and declared that if he wins he will be the new master of Mechanics.

The one to play against him was Ke Shu but his father worried for him so much, he tied him down.  Ke Tu when put his new tile invention on him to act as a vest.

Ke Shu was aggrieved.  He was begging his father to let him go and that his tile will not protect him.

Xue Ying, a mechanic helped Hua Min Chu and  Xi Shui to leave Mo City to get to the Spy.

Hua Min Chu and Xi Shui saw where Bai Lin and her gang her hiding.  Hua Min Chu had ordered Xi Shui to find a way of capturing Bai LIn.

Then someone jumped over them.

Episode 23

It was certainly eventful at Mo City.

The mechanics certainly knew their stuff.

Without using an arsenal of arms, they were able to contain every single one of Bai Lin’s Lanliquan gang members and mercenaries.

Ke Shu, though bereaved from the death of his silly father, Ke Tu, did the Mechanics proud.  He was a good leader.  He was inventive and calm.

Episode 24

Having been able to defend themselves, the Mechanics had been disbanded to lead a normal life.  Some though wanted to still live together and luckily Ke Shu had just the place for them to move to.  They were going to start a school where they will share their knowledge to those who wanted to learn.

On their way to the newfound place as they were getting on the train, Fang Yuan Ji showed up with soldiers, ready to arrest and create mayhem.

Fang Yuan Ji was determined to get the two scrolls now in Hua Min Chu’s possession as holder.

Fang Yuan Ji threatened to blow up the train if the scrolls were not given to him, Hua Min Chu was no match for Fang Yan Ji.  He got the scroll but still wanted to finish off Hua MIn Chu but Xi Shui showed up and stopped Fang.  This is were it got silly.

The assassins were supposed to protect the Holder but no one was around not even Yi Fang.

Fang Yuan Ji got more annoyed when he found that the scrolls given to him were fake.

Zhang Yao found the real ones with Ke Shu.  She grabbed them and went to find Hua Min Chu.

Min Chu saw her coming with the scrolls and begged her not to give it to Fang but she ignored him.

By this time Min Chu was beaten badly on the ground, and Fang had garroted a bleeding Xi Shui and holding the rope with one hand and then pointing a metal pole at Zhang Yao.

Fang was enjoying the moment, humiliating Hua Min Chu.

Hua Min Chu asked him who was the mastermind of the whole thing.

Fang Yuan JI enjoyed telling him that it was the person closest to him, Black Bob, his father.

Fang asked Min Chu to kneel down and to make a choice.  Which of the two ladies would he like to save?  Xi Shui or Zhang Yao?

Min Chu refused to make as a choice at first but Fang started to hurt both girls more.

So he pointed at Zhang Yao.

The very weakened Xi Shui put her last effort to grab the metal pole and then stabbed herself which went through Fang Yuan Ji as well.

Min Chu was heartbroken and rather suicidal by now.

Yi Fang finally turned up and stopped him killing himself.  He assured him that Xi Shui was not dead yet.

She might not be dead but she was on the point of dying and both the scrolls were gone.

Meanwhile, Black Bob was with his disciple, he had created a new Eight which is currently five.  And Fang Yuan Ji is the new holder!

This is the most exciting episode so far.

Episode 25

Xi Shui was grievously injured and was said that she may be brain damaged.

Hua Min Chu was taken this hard and drinking himself silly almost every day.

Ke Shu gave a jade token to an unconscious Hua Min Chu. The token tells the whereabouts of the Mountains and Rivers Scroll.  The one given to Commander Fang was a replica.  The real was under the care of the master of the mechanics.

It turned out the Qi Ming was not the good guy that he was.  He had been playing as the ever-helpful admirer of Lady Jin Xui, who owes Qi Ming family her life and that of her family.

So they had been working in connivance with each other.

Qi Ming is contemplating of joining forces with Commander Fang.

The group had now moved to Shanghai.
