I am looking forward to this drama. I love both the Japanese and Korean versions.
Episode 1
The leads are so likable.
Jelly Lin is adorable very different from the Japanese and Korean versions where they are sort of somewhat mentally unhinged. Lived in their own world.
I think I am going to like this drama.
Anyway, Li Zhenyan is a very fastidious guy, almost ocd in his cleanliness.
He is studying piano but his real passion is conducting. He was influenced by his idol Mr. Fisher.
His friends were encouraging him to transfer to conducting but despite his zest for conducting, he declined to transfer. This might have to do with his phobia of flying.
When he was a little boy, a child prodigy, on their way to Europe, they had a tumultuous flight that caused his mother’s death from a heart attack right in front of his eyes.
His piano teacher had given up on him after a music score was found in his notes yet again. The teacher said that Zhenyan is the best pianist in their school and yet his heart was not in piano playing 100 percent.
One day, he heard someone playing the piano in one of the music rooms. Though he thought it was not perfect, the pianist seemed to be able to keep with the music tempo.
He was curious to see who was playing but he got waylaid.
Zhenyan lives in an apartment building a floor below Fang Xiaowo’s flat.
Fang Xiaowo has been giving him many causes of irritation.
Anyway, one day he was rather depressed so he went drinking. He got so drunk that he climbed into the floor where Xiaowo lives.
He was in her way as he was sprawled in front of her front door. She dragged him inside and put him into her bed.
The next morning, Zhenyan woke up to a wonderful feeling listening to Xiaowo’s piano feeling.
His happiness did not last long as he saw the state of her apartment. It was absolutely filthy with unwashed clothes, unwashed dishes, and pans, litters scattered in every available space.
He can’t wait to get out.
Zhenyan found another piano teacher to accept him, he was the last one willing to mentor him. He was surprised when he found Xiaowo as the other student to learn with him.
He said he can’t be with her but the teacher said that Zhenyan can no longer be choosey because he had to repeat the year as no one would accept him willingly anymore.
Anyway, he started playing piano with Xiaowo and he was impressed but he can’t help nitpicking the way she plays.
Xiaowo has a photographic memory and a good ear. She can play the tune without looking at the music sheet.
He was at home by his balcony when a rug fell on his head.
He went to Xiaowo’s apartment to complain but she was not answering. Her apartment unlocked so he let himself in. He just can’t help himself. He just had to tidy up. He cleaned her apartment. Brought down all her rubbish. (Don’t you wish you have a neighbour like him?)
When Xiaowo got home, she was confused, she had to double-check that she was on the right floor. Her room was clean but she got upset when she can find her red toy piano, her most treasured possession given to her by her mother.
She went to the rubbish dump to look for the toy, which she found. Zhenyan also went to the dump and found her MP3.
Their love of music started to bond them.
