Episode 1
A commander was tasked to launch a rocket against a target. It took a great personal effort for the commander to personally fix the malfunctioning mechanism. In the end, he was able to fix it but instead of getting a commendation, he was judged as a failure because he launched a rocket without the proper authority. He just listened to his higher-ups.
Next seen this commander was demoted to running a rocket school.
Four of the new batch of recruits were university students, Xia Chu, Ou Yang Jun, Yi Zimeng, and Lin An Bang.
The recruits were gathered into the hanger where a rocket was going to be launched.
Xia Chu was a walking computer, very clever and tend to question everything which annoys his friends especially Ou Yang Jun.
But Xia Chu can’t be stopped.
The commander found him interesting.
But Ouyang Jun started challenging Xia Chu and ended up competing. They tied.
Ouyang Jun was made the temperory platoon leader.
A high-up brigadier came to the camp to observe. In order for the recruits not to treat him warily, he asked that he was introduced as a military journalist.
He started observing the boys but a real military journalist came to the camp and told a 3 star general that the man was not a journalist but a brigadier.
Love this drama. It has that American Hollywood feel about it concerning army recruits films and dramas. Love the guys as well.
Episode 2
The Veterans are feeling the heat. Technology and new recruits are fast encroaching into their turf and they can’t really do much about it. After making the military their lives, they are slowly being retired.
The new recruits have been transferred to a new location to prepare for war. The new location is built in and carved within a mountain.
A new military doctor had come to join but she was shun by the veterans for being a woman. They said that no woman had been allowed into their military base.
Dr Huang said that she would then be the first. They just brushed her off.
The Brigadier was on his way to a meeting when they encounter a vehicle, which seemed to have broken down and blocking the road.
When the military driver went to lend a hand, he found himself facing the man with a gun.
Episode 3 & 4
The brigadier and the commander were kidnapped by the men and soldiers who were blocking their way.
Xia Chu and Ouyang Jun were allowed to stay and watch the strategy unit. They were working on how to stop a missile.
Xia Chu had an idea of intercepting the missile by working on the magnetic field.
He told Ouyang that he was going to draw up his plan. When he went to submit it, he learned that someone had already submitted the same plan which is more simple. He then learned that it was Ouyang who submitted it.
Xia Chu was so annoyed with Ouyang but he said that he was prepared to to overlook it if Ouyang apologises.
Ouyang said that he had nothing to apologise. He admitted that Xia Chu was brilliant but he was as good as well. He told Xia Chu to go look at what he submitted and he will know the truth.
To look at what Ouyang submitted meant that Xia Chu had to go to the restricted area which he did.
He did find out something but he was arrested and confined in a cell.
While alone in the cell, he started thinking about the collision of the rockets and knew for sure that it was all a show. The Brigadier and commander were not kidnapped. It was all part of a training.
He tried to tell this to the generals but they did not believe him and put him back to his cell.
Thinking that he needed to get out, he climbed into the circulation vent and ended out of the compound.
He was just resting to take a breath when out of the save vent out Zi Meng his friend.
Zimeng is not sure about staying in the army. He said it was not for him. He felt so homesick.
Zimeng thought that Xia Chu was going AWOL as well but Xia Chu said that as he was already in the army, he was going to do his best and he was about to find out the truth about the training.
They were both taken by soldiers with blue arm bands.
