Episode 1
An official was murdered and the Royal Cat of Kaifeng Government Agency led the investigation.
Lu Xi was duly arrested as he carved his confession of murder on the desk where the dead official was found
Mo Yan came to town to rescue her brother. Mo Yan is very intelligent and very intuitive. Her forte is chemical, i.e. poison.
To get to her brother, she went to see the Royal Cat who she ended up having a fight with. They seemed almost equal in martial arts that is why their floating, jumping, and running went a tad too long, it got rather boring.
The script is not really good because how can the topmost guard of the Kaifeng Government Agency whose mere mention of his name sends shivers to criminals had a hard time apprehending a girl?!!!
Anyway, in the end, the Royal Cat proved to be a better fighter, just, so he was able to subdue Mo Yan. 😜
When he asked why she was there to see him, she said that she came to rescue Lu Xi, her brother.
Immediately she was led to the Kaifeng Government Agency office to undergo interrogation by Bao Zheng, the lead Kaifeng prefect.
Mo Yan said introduced herself as the 7th Sister of Evil of Shengzhong that her Fifth Brother could have not done the killing because he was not a good fighter as being too lazy, he was a thief, not a murderer, She also added that would a murderer leave a confession at the scene of the murder.
She evidenced that her brother is not a murderer by providing the ledger she found.
Bao Zheng was interested to see the ledger because it is evidence of the corruption in Kaifeng.
Despite her evidence, her brother was taken back to jail until further investigation if he was not connected with the real killer.
Mo Yan wanted the ledger back but they would not give it back to her.
So that night, she sneaked into a well-secured courtroom and found the ledger.
But she got found out by the Royal Cat.
Again they chased each other. The Royal Cat almost fainted when he pulled her shirt revealing a shoulder. So he turned his back so she could make herself presentable. How stupid is this script?
But when he turned around, she was gone so the chase resumed until Mo Yan noticed the real culprit watching them from the rooftop. They chased after him as well. Moyan wanted to catch him to prove once and for all that her brother was innocent of murder.
But the culprit was a brilliant martial artist and was able to snatch the ledger from Mo Yan. When she tried to run after him he threw a poisoned dart which got her in the shoulder.
She would have died from falling if the Royal Cat did not catch her.
He took her to the doctor who said that she had several poisons running in her body. This seemed not able to stop her because the next day, she asked Bao Zheng if she could become a government agent and help investigate where the real ledger is.
Bao Zheng was impressed with her keen intelligence and tenacity he told the Royal Cat to make use of her talent.
