Quick Precis
Gao Liang and Gu Yiye are friends and rivals. They even fell in love with the same girl, Jiang Nan Zheng.
But later on, Yiye gave up and married A Xiu instead to look after her when her father died. Her father was their commander.
Gao Liang Yiyi and Nan Zheng worked together to reform the Blue Army make it the Ace Troop.

Episode 1
Gao Liang was aboard a train full of new army recruits. His short nap turned into the same nightmare of the death of his brother who used to be a soldier as well. It also included the death of his mother from heartbreak because of his brother’s death.
The raucous atmosphere inside the train woke him up. He then saw a girl weaving through a throng of uniformed soldiers waiting outside the still stationary train.
The girl saw the guy she was looking for. It was Gu Yi Ye who was leaning against a pillar reading a book.
The girl, He Yang (Bai Lu) begged Yi Ye to go home with her.
He looked at her and said that he had only ever seen her as a sister. He said that he wanted to be a soldier.
The sound of the soldiers singing stopped He Yang from asking Yi Ye to come home. Instead, she hugged him tightly and bit him hard on his shoulder.
It pained him but he did not stop her until the tannoy announced that every soldier must board the train.
Immediately, the difference between Yi Ye and Gao Liang is palpable.
Yi Ye is studious, observant, quiet, and a rather anal know-it-all kind of guy.
Gao Liang, on the other hand, is boisterous, confident, loud and a bit of a trouble-maker.
He even challenged Yi Ye to a fight.
Yi Ye accepted and Gao Liang found out that Yi Ye was even good at fighting.
Finally, they got to their destination. While getting out of the train, they noticed that there are female soldiers as well.
But Yi Ye is rather a misogynist and said that they were not really there for arm-to-arm combat. They are more there for nursing or cleaning🤣
One of the girls immediately sneaked out into a nearby field.
She was Jiang Nanzheng.
Yiye saw where she went. He went immediately to the female army leader to snitch on the girl. He then volunteered to bring back the girl. Some of the girls wanted to go with him but he dismissed their offer by saying they would be more of a hindrance rather than a help because they can’t run fast and walk with small steps🤣
Anyway, he was on the field when he was ambushed by Gao Liang.
They found Nanzheng in the middle of a field of flowers.
Gao Liang wanted to know what she was doing there.
Yi Ye very matter of factly said that she was cleaning herself after having been cooped up aboard a train for two days.
Anyway, they met the girl. Gao Liang fell in love with her at first sight while she was interested in the nerdy Yi Ye at first sight.
Song Jiang She, the leader of the new recruits was tasked to be brave and dive into the action immediately. He said that he had only been in charge of soldiers who till the land, the farmer soldiers.
His commander told him that he is now in charge of 234 which is an ace command.
The new recruits were given their first test. They were asked to surrender to a group of soldiers.
