Episode 1

I must admit I am a sucker for food dramas and having Kido Gao as the male lead is an added bonus.  Additionally, I am also rather partial to Jade Zheng so looking forward to how this drama would turn out.

I found a little hindrance in fully enjoying this drama.  It was google translated.  So the first 15 minutes, I am not really sure what was really going on.

Anyway, Yu Hao is the CEO of a food company.  He was often doing cooking shows but his last program, it was finally revealed by eagle-eyed netizen that Yu Hao was not actually the one cooking but a body double.

Instead of being ashamed of what happened, the CEO fired his managers and promoted a girl he hardly knew into directorship, Director of Public Relations, and to sort out the pickle he landed himself into.

The girl was Su Kelan, who is actually a foodie and a brilliant cook.  But she is a 9-5 kind of girl because she has an ailing mother.,

Su Kelan has a boyfriend, who was in connivance with his mother in scamming her.

Her boyfriend was on a blind date with another girl with their parents.  After the girl had left with her mother, the boyfriend started talking about Su Kelan.

The boyfriend’s mother said that Su Kelan is so poor, not a wife material because she has a mother to look after and her money goes straight to her mother’s medication.

The boyfriend’s mother however told her son not to break up with Su Kelan immediately because she brings them lots of good food.

Yu Hao overheard their conversation and was fuming for Su Kelan.

Meanwhile, Han Meng who is Su Kelan’s best friend later saw the boyfriend with his mother by the restaurant.  Han Meng was confused because Su Kelan said that her boyfriend was out of town.

When Han Meng saw Su Kelan, Su Kelan mentioned that her boyfriend was coming back in te afternoon. Han Meng said that she saw Su Kelan’s boyfriend the other day and he was definitely back in town.

Su Kelan said to Han Meng that she was mistaken but she started to think about it.

Su Kelan hired chefs to teach Yu Hao how to cook.

Episode 2

Dinner party ended into a brawl with the food on the floor.

The romance between Han Meng and Gong Wei Xing is so cute.  Apparently, they were fated.  So they had a flash marriage.  One day of meeting ‘again’ and they ended up married immediately.

Su Kelan and  Yu Hao ended up kissing already after eating ostrich egg and tomato and ended up in bed.  But it was not as cut and dried as Han Meng and Gong Wei Xing’s love story.

Yu Hao was evading Su Kelan as if she had a communicable disease.

Poor Jin Yi ended up crashing at Zhang Bi’s hotel room.

Episode 4

Poor Yu Hao fell off a tree after rescuing a cat.  He hurt his back in the process.  Su Kelan told him to go to the hospital but he refused.

His back pain was exacerbated when he fell in his bathroom after a shower.

Su Kelan turned up because a workmate called her to ask where Yu Hao was as he had not been answering calls.

Hotpot, they had beautiful delicious hotpot.

Su Kelan had fallen in love with Yu Hao, who was still resisting.

Episode 5

This episode is full of emotional scenes.

Infuriating, cringey, sad, heartbreaking, lonely, delicious, etc.

Anyway, Su Kelan found out that it was Yu Hao’s birthday.  It was also Jin Yi’s birthday.  Jinyi is the new husband of Mengmeng.

Mengmeng and Su Kelan each made a birthday cake to surprise the men.

Jin Yi loved his surprises from Mengmeng.  She prepared many presents to celebrate the years when they were apart.  In an earlier episode, they found out that they knew each other previously.  They were fated.  When Jin Yi opened the last box, it was Mengmeng holding a cake.

They were loving being together celebrating his birthday when Jin Yi learned that Su Kelan was waiting at Yu Hao’s apartment to surprise him with a cake on his birthday.

Jin Yi was so perturbed and immediately left Mengmeng to go to Yu Hao.

But it was too late, Yu Hao was home and had the most ghastly experience of watching the clueless Su Kelan lighting a birthday cake for him.

Su Kelan who had fallen irrevocably with Yu Hao did not know of his pathological phobia of birthdays and birthday cakes.

When Yuhao was a young boy, his mother presented him with a beautiful birthday cake with lit candles and she jumped off the window to her death.

Su Kelan did not know this so she felt so sad and hard done by when Yu Hao dismissed her effort and was rather nasty about her surprise.

Jin Yi and Yu Hao went for a drink to talk.

When Jin Yi went home, Mengmeng asked why he suddenly left.  He was gone for two hours leaving her sitting in from of his birthday cake which she said she really took time to make for him.

When he would not divulge what was wrong with Yu Hao, Mengmeng got so angry and left the house but then she came back and threw the delicious birthday cake on the floor.  That was so out of order.

Mengmeng met up with the pathetic Su Kelan.  They were in a barbecue eatery where they were drinking and eating Yu Hao’s cake.

Episode 6

Chaos ensued because Su Kelan’s ex-boyfriend and his mother texted the video of Kelan with Yu Hao.

Yu Hao tried to find her but he can’t when he did finally find her, he told her to take 20 days off, paid leave, or until the controversy dies off.

Su Kelan got upset about this as it looks to her that he does not trust her.

She kissed him though and left.
