Episode 1

I loved the first episode and will be loving the second episode more as per the trailer.

Anyway, Cha Chung Sook is now in her forties married Seo In Ho, a Chief Surgeon of a university hospital. They have two almost grown-up children.

Cha Chung Sook went to her friend, Baek Mi Hee, a dermatologist to have her freckles removed.  Baek Mi Hee told her that she had to look after herself because she can see that Cha Chung Sook was jaundiced.

Cha Chung Sook said that she was ok and told Baek Mi Hee that she should look after herself.  She had been so workaholic she had no time for herself.  Cha Chung Sook teased her friend that she could not be a virgin all her life.

Baek Mi Hee teased back saying that Cha Chung Sook could talk when she was like a virgin herself.

This was because Seo In Ho had opted to have separate bedrooms after a few years in their marriage.

What Cha Chung Sook did not know yet was that her husband was having an affair with Choi Sung Hee, also a doctor at the university hospital.

It looked like Seo in Ho was both dating Choi Sung Hee and Cha Chung Sook back during university but ended up with Cha Chung Sook because she got pregnant.

Anyway, Cha Chung Sook was a certified doctor as well but had not been practicing for 20 years as she had been a homebody and a dogsbody to everyone: her husband, her two children, and her annoying mother-in-law.

While in a bus one day, a guy collapsed, her medical training kicked in but then she hesitated.  She commanded the bus driver to stop and call an ambulance.

The man was taken by the paramedics but asked her to go with them to see to the patients on the way to the hospital.  A passing man overheard the other passengers saying that Cha Chung Sook did not look like a real doctor.

He showed his ID to the doctor and went with them.  It was a good thing too as he had to perform a tracheostomy on the patient which Cha Chung Sook would have not done.

Anyway, the guy doctor was Roy Kim who asked her if she was really a doctor.

Cha Chung Sook said that she was and her the certificate and diplomas for it but she had not to practise for 20 years.

Within days they met again because Cha Chung Sook collapsed while shopping for a pair of sunglasses for her husband who was away on a business/leisure trip with his mistress.

She had undergone tests and she knew what was wrong with her after finding out the result.  The man who confirmed her diagnosis was Roy Kim himself.  He told her that she had to be admitted to the hospital and needed a guardian with her. Her husband was away and when she called he was not overly bothered that she was in the hospital.  Her mother-in-law was attending a school reunion while her children were in their most crucial time of studying.

So she called her mother who she did not want to worry.

It was found out that Cha Chung Sook had damaged her liver because of the defective herbal elixir her mother both in the market for her.  Now needed a liver transplant.

Her mother and in-laws are too old, her children are too young so her husband is the perfect donor.

The mother-in-law would not have it and the mistress was upset as well and begged him not to do it.

But the surgery happened anyway with Roy Kim doing the surgery.

When Cha Chung Sook woke up, she saw her children and her husband by her bedside.  She whispered to her husband, “You little bastard.” This shocked everyone.

Trailer showed that she became a different woman.  She went on a shopping spree and told everyone to start fending for themselves instead of her because she was going to live her own life.

Love it.

Episode 2

Yes, love the second episode.

Cha Chung Sook received her new liver from a dead patient rather than from her husband.

Anyway, as soon as she got well, life was back to her normal almost immediately.  She was back from doing the thankless job for her mother-in-law, husband, son, and daughter,

Now, she finally developed some backbone when after her doing her chores, her mother-in-law asked her to pick her new branded bag from the shop.

For lack of a choice for now, she agreed but then she started shopping for herself, she even asked if there was another stock that was the same as her mother-in-law when she was told there was another one, she bought it.

Seo-in-Ho was getting palpitations every time there was another expenditure on his card.  He called Chung Sook if she had misplaced the card but she told him that it was her who was using it.

She really bought a lot and her friend, Mi Hee could not help but admire her because at last, she was being a ‘[woman who shops’.  Chung Sook said that she will not wear and use the cast of her mother-in-law anymore.

They talked about how she ended up with Seo-Inho who was known to be dating Seong Hee back in college.

Chung Sook said that it happened during a school excursion.  She said that they were on a trek in the mountain when she twisted her ankle.

For some reason, Seo In-Ho, who she barely said hello to at school, stayed with her and helped her back into the inn.  It was so hot at the room and he smelled so gorgeous so one thing led to another and few months later she found out that she was pregnant.

Seo In-Ho took responsibility which made Seong Hee so enraged when she returned from abroad.

Anyway, that night, Chung Sook went to Seo In-Ho’s bedroom and gave him a few resounding slaps which woke him up.  He saw Chung Sook looking rather belligerent.  He said that he understood what she was feeling.  She had a life-and-death experience so her brain is getting used to it.

Chung Sook took the moment to tell Seo In Ho that she will no longer be the family slave and she will start doing her own thing.

The next morning the family woke up with their breakfast, not on the table. When they asked she told them that they can do it themselves.  She then looked at her husband who said that Chung Sook is too tired.

Chung Sook went to visit her mother.  She told her mother that she wanted to do something but did not know where to start.

Her mother said that the thing that she loved and excelled at most was studying.  She loved it since she was a little girl.

So Chung Sook began to self study for the resident exam.  She was competing against her son.  She study so much and was greatly rewarded for it.  she got 49/50 while her son got 45/50.

She had an interview at the university hospital where So Inho works.

Seong Hee was almost scandalised when she found out.  During her interview, the doctors who conducted it commented about her age and health a lot.

Later on, she got a call that she did not get the internship.

Episode 3

I am loving this drama.  It is my favourite kdrama so far for the year.

This is because I love the characters, they are all well-defined.

I love this drama so much because the story development is so fast-paced.

Seo Yi Rang found out that  Eun Seo was her half-sister.

Kwak Ae Shim, Seo In-Ho’s mother found out that she has an illegitimate granddaughter the same age as Yi Rang. She was so annoyed with her son.

Seo Jeong Min found a text from Choi Seung-hi to his father asking to meet up.  He got curious so he went to spy on his father and found Seung-hi back-hugging Seo In-ho.  Later on, he got nauseated when he found out that he has a half-sister after he insisted that his father stopped seeing the other woman.

Kwak Ae Shim said that it would not be easy because of the other daughter.

Now everyone in the family knew that In Ho is adulterous but they told him to ensure that Cha Jung-Sook does not find out.  Seo Jeong Min told his father to not tell his mother for at least three years; until Cha Jung Sook had finished her internship.

Cha Jung Sook was so happy because the family arranged a birthday dinner for her.  Roy Kim told her that he has a very important thing to say to her.

She stopped him thinking that he will confess to her as per what the fortune teller had said that she was a babe-magnet.

But there is no secret that won’t come out especially if it has been going on for 20 years.  She saw the Instagram of Choi Seung-hi and all the dates tallies when In-Ho was away.

She had been suspecting them but now she knew for sure.  She was on the warpath when she turned up at the restaurant.
