Episode 1

The first episode is really interesting.

It was Spring Festival as well as the birthday of the family matriarch, Qiao Hai Yun.  Everyone was expected to attend.  There were the three sisters: Meng Ming Wei with her husband, Li Cheng Qi, Meng Wang Qing with her husband, Tao Da Lei and their daughter, Tao Shu Na (Nana) and Meng Yi An with husband, Qiu Ya and young daughter, Qiu Qi.

The only one missing was Li Yi Jin, the daughter of Ming Wei and Cheng Qi.  Apparently, without telling enyone that she was not going, Yi Jin went with her boyfriend of seven years to his hometown.

Ming Wei was not very happy at all but not as unhappy as Li Yi Jin who was put through so much by the quirky old traditions and superstition of her boyfriend’s family.  Zhou Dao did try to protect her when the eccentric grandma ordered Yi Jin to step over a burning embers to enter the house.  She then had to drink a concoction with chicken blood for fertitlity.  Li Yi Jin suffered it all but despite these trials, it all went wrong when she started giving presents to each of the family member.  She also had a present for Zhou Dao’s mother but when the family heard her mention Zhou Dao’s mother, they all went ballistic and told her to leave and never to return.  Poor Zhou Dao can’t do anything as his grandma had fainted and needed to be taken to the hospital.

Poor Yi Jin had to leave, walking alone in the falling snow.

When she returned to her family’s house, she got more depressed when her mother pretended to be understanding but she had the look of ‘I told you so”

The second daughter, Wang Qing, had lost her libido and would not share the bed with her husband who could not understand why she does not fancy him anymore when she did all the running so they could get together.  Wang Qing told him that she regretted it.

The third daughter, Yi An, who looks like had the ideal marriage left the house the next morning with her cute daughter Qiuqi and doting husband on a taxi.

They were not far from the house, when Qiuxia got off the taxi and told Yi An that he would look after Qiuqi soon.  It seems that they are amicably separated.

Episode 2

Whoa, so much happening and it is only the second episode.

It turned out that Ming Wei is a control freak and rather abusive towards her daughter.   She was forcing Yi Jin to eat the pork blood stew to increase her stamina, which is rather motherly, but it reminded Yi Jin of the chicken blood she was forced to drink by Zhou Dao’s grandma, the thought of it made Yi Jin threw up.  Immediately Ming Wei suspected that Yi Jin was pregnant.  She slapped Yi Jin, who could not take anymore and decided to return to Shanghai.

Back at the apartment, Zhou Dao had also returned.  They ended up breaking up when she heard from Zhou Dao that he had no plan of marrying her.  He did not tell her the reason which was that his mother was in prison for killing his father.

Yi JIn went to stay with her aunt, Yi An and cousin QiQui.

Yi An pretended that Qiuxia was too busy that he had to stay at university to finish his dissertation.

Meanwhile, Nana had gone back to university.

Episode 3

Nana heard that her crush had returned from abroad.  She convinced her mother to let her board out rather than stay in a dorm.

Her mother was very understanding and fully support Nana in her pursuit of her crush, thus, Nana is a happy and loving daughter which makes Ming Wei so jealous as she keep comparing Yi Jin to Nana.

Ming Wei is frustrated that her and Yi Jin are not close like Wang Qing and Nana. She does not get the fact that she was too repressive to Yi JIn that is why they don’t get on well.

Anyway, Yi Jin temporary lodged with Yi An and was looking for a new apartment.  Yi An suggested that Nana and Yi Jin share an apartment.

Out of Nana’s earshot, Yi Jin explained that it would be more trouble for her as her mother compares her to Nana all the time.

Yi An understood and said no more about it.

But as luck would have it, Nana and Yi Jin bumped into each other while they were each viewing apartments.

Episode 4

If Yi Jin’s mother is bad, her father is hardly better. He got addicted to investing so he took the family’s savings and cash in hand to invest.  He was not doing very well.  Now he demanded that Yi Jin send him a monthly stipend of 1500 yuan.

Episode 5

Nana finally reconnected with her idol/crush, Zhang Xiaoyan.

But she got distracted when she spotted her uncle being rather familiar with someone younger.

She told Yi Jin about it but Yi Jin mentioned that their Aunt Yi An was also rather intimate with another man.

Episode 6

Yi Jin and Nana confronted their Aunt, who calmly admitted that no one is cheating and there is no open marriage because there was no marriage anymore. She and Qiuya had divorced a year before. She told them that what was so good when there were dating was vastly different when were married.  She had not told the family as she was worried how her mother would react.

If Yi Jin had committed matricide, I would have not blamed her.  Her mother was so horrible. She kept questioning why Yi Jin can’t progress in her job when she was not helping at all.  She was always on the phone to her busy daughter.  Poor Yi Jin was made helpless by her mother’s demands and attitude.

Now, her mother had contacted Zhou Dao to order him to leave Yi Jin alone.

Episode 7

Meng Wang Qing went to Shanghai with her boss, Mr Zheng, for a business trip and to visit Nana as well.

Nana saw them and found that Mr Zheng was way too attentive to her mother.  As a straight forward girl, she directly asked Mr Zheng if he fancies her mother.

Mr Zheng did not deny it but he was so embarrassed and so was Wang Qing.  She scolded Nana for being so immature.

Nana was so upset about it because it was her first time to have a really big fight with her mother.

Episode 8

As Yi Jin had blocked her mother on her contact list. So Ming Wei went to Shanghai to create more mayhem.

Nana realised how hard it has been for Yi Jin as she found that her Aunt is so rigid to live with.

Despite being almost 30, Yi Jin is treated like a child by her mother.  She insisted giving Yi Jin’s fringe a trim which made Nana laughed so hard when it was done.

Nana heard from her friend, Liao Zhe, that Zhang Xiaoyan is going to marry his girlfriend, Jenny.

Meanwhile, little QiQui was upset that her mother was not there for her ballet recital.

Episaode 9

Poor Nana can’t get over the fact that Zhang Xiaoyan was getting married.  Yi Jin and Meng Ming Wei were worried about her.

Ming Wei called Meng Wan Qing to contact Nana.  Meng Wan Qing at that moment was having a stressful time with her husband who came home dead drunk.

Qiu Xia scolded Yi An for failing to turn up at their daughter’s first dance recital.  He told her that she had not changed at all after the divorce.  She was even more neglectful of Quiqi.

Mr Cui was sexually harrassing Yi Jin at work.

Ming Wei went to visit Yi An at her house and found the divorce document.  She asked Yi An about it.

Yi An told her that she had been divorced for almost two years.

Episode 10

Ming Wei could not wait to tell Meng Wang Qing about Yi An’s divorce.

Nana gatecrashed a dinner celebration for Zhang Xiaoyan.  She got drunk and for the last time she confessed to him in front of his school colleagues, she also told him that she will not bother him anymore and not appear in his vicinity.  She wished him best luck on his marriage.

Everyone was surprised if a little amused but not Zhang Xiaoyan who was shocked because there was a misunderstanding.

He run after Nana who was leaving but she was beyond listening as she get on Liao Zhe’s car.

Zhang Xiaoyan sought her the next morning and showed her a wedding invitation.  His girlfriend was marrying someone else.

Nana was back to being her bubbly self and asked Zhang Xiaoyan why he took the time to explain the situation to her.

Zhang Xiaoyan said he does not want to be misunderstood.

Anyway, Nana said that she wanted to be part of his team and will apply to Professor Huang for the internship.

Zhang Xiaoyan did not discourage her but told her that it would be hard because Professor Huang only accepts those who were already studying for their Phd.

Yi Jin offered to take her mother and show her around Shanghai.  Meng Wei said that she wanted to go to the park.  Yi Jin went with her to the park but her mother said that she wanted to have a look around and it so happened Yi Jin wanted to see a play nearby.

It became apparent why she wanted to go to the park, she wanted to go to the blinddate corner and add her daughter’s details.

Yi Jin found out about and suffered some indirect insult because the parents of prospective partners were saying that Yi Jin is too old for their sons or not successful enough.

Episode 11

Meng Wei would not be defeated. She enrolled Yi Jin to a dating agency.  Meng Wei was really unbearable.  Yi Jin was so annoyed especially when Meng Wei tried to throw Yi Jin’s glass collection. She told Meng Wei that her collection is the only thing that was hers.

Meng Wei pretended that she was upset and was going home.  Yi Jin did not stop Meng Wei.

So Meng Wei said she was not leaving.

Nana went home to her mother and found out that her parents were battling and discussing divorce.

Poor Qiuqi ended up in hospital and Qiuxia immediately blamed Yi An for not looking after their daughter well enough.

But when he went back to Yi An’s apartment and into Qiuqi’s bedroom he found a noticeboard where almost minute by minute schedule for Qiuqi was pasted.  He realised that he was wrong about his ex-wife.  He immediately called her to apologise.

Despite trying for Yi Jin to go on  blinddates, Meng Wei seemed not to like Yi Jin to get into relationship with anyone.

Poor Yi JIn suffered more sexual harrassment from Mr Cui.

Liao Zhe found Yi Jin so depressed so he took her to a taekwando practice.  Yi Jin started really letting go of her hidden fury mostly about her controlling mother.

Episode 12

Tao Da Lei was refusing to divorce.

Meanwhile, Qiuxia seemed to be falling in love with Yi An again and was jealous and saddened that Yi An has a boyfriend who gets on with Qiuqi.

But then Qiuxia has a girlfriend as well who was rather clingy.  She was the ballet teacher of Qiuqi.

The girlfriend hinted that she wanted to get married and took him to a bridal shop but when Qiuxia saw the wedding gowns all he could think of was Yi An on their wedding day.

Liao Zhe told Yi Jin that he likes her.  Yi Jin was amused.  Unfortunately, Meng Wei saw them and when she had a chance, she quizzed Yi JIn about it.

Yi Jin was more stressed because she was taken off her project with Cranberry by Mr Cui.  Commander Feng of Cranberry however was not happy about it.

Nana was back at university a rather subdued girl so when Xiaoyan appeared he was surprised that she actually was not excited to be with him and even told him to go away as she was busy.

Yi Jin confessed to Nana that she was scared that she was turning into her mother.  Nana suggest to send back Meng Wei home but Yi Jin said that her mother won’t go back home until she has a boyfriend her mother approves of.

Episode 17

Poor Xiao Ru had to be rescued by Yi Jin from the perverted Mr Cui.

Zhou Dao met up with YI Jin who told him to leave her alone.  But it turned out he was useful when he save her from the agressive Mr Cui.

The sweetest thing, Nana and Xiaoyan are finally official.  They are the cutest.

Seriously, I’ve lost any sympathy for Yi Jin.  She is enabling her deranged mother to behave more outrageously.  She could easily tell her mother to butt out as she is almost thirty but instead she encourages her mother to be more clingy and was contented that her mother got to fetch her after work.

Anyway, Xiao Yao begged Yi An not to tell Qiuxia that she was a part-time hostess.

Yi An assured her that it has nothing to do with her as she was already divorced from Qiuxia but she did say that Xiao Yao should be honest with Qiuxia.

Xiao Yao later asked Qiuxia to marry her.

Qiuxia was not expecting it because he was really still hang up with Yi An.

Episode 18

The storyline of Ming Wei and her daughter is getting more ridiculous by the minute.  How can Ming Wei continue to be mentally tyrannical to  her daughter when there are strong feisty aunties in their lives and a cousin and a grandma as well.  Wouldn’t they scold Ming Wei for her unreasonable behavior and expectation towards her daughter?!!! What kind of relatives were they when they are being shown as having a close bond.  Does not make sense.

Then Yi Jin advised Xiao Ru to stand for herself when she can’t do it herself when she is nearing 30.

Anyway, Ming Wei announced that she was not going back home unless Yi JIn agree to a marriage with Liao Zhe.

Qiuxia found out for himself that Xiao Yao was leading a double life.  He saw her go on dates with an older guy.

Episode 19

Qiuxia did not break up with Xiao Yao directly. He just ghosted her after sending her a package of all the things she had at his house.

As she can’t contact him, Xiao Yao went to Yi An’s company and created a mini-scene thinking that it was Yi An who told Qiuxia about Xiao Yao’s real situation.

Yi An assured her that she had not said a word.

Anyway, Yi An advised Qiuxia to meet up with Xiao Yao.  He broke up with her and would not change his mind.

Nana and Xiaoyan are getting along fine but Xiaoyan is always going on a business trip just like when they were about to see a sc-fi movie, he got called away.

Though she was disapponted, Nana was understanding.  She was just about to go see the movie alone when Xiaoyan appeared and hugged her.  He then gave her a copy of his apartment keys and told her that she could go there anytime.
Nana could not be more excited.

Episode 20

Finally, it happened.

Anyway, Meng Wei was so excited of marrying Yi Jin to Liao Zhe that she asked Wang Qing to look for venues for a wedding.

Yi Jin found out about and told Nana that it was getting out of hand.

Nana told Meng Wei that Liao Zhe was not a good guy. He was a playboy with many girls on the go.

Meng Wei was shocked and went to the gym owned by Liao Zhe and created so much fuss. Yi Jin found out about it and hurried to the gym,.

She had to stop a mother beating Liao Zhe.  Everyone was watching so Yi Jin begged her mother to go back with her and they will talk about it.

Meng Wei was not having it.  She likes confrontations so Liao Zhe was forced to admit that he has no real relationship with Yi Jin.  It was all fake.

Meng Wei really went to town with her screeching and askerd Yi Jin to confirm it.

Yi Jin said that Liao Zhe was telling the truth.  This really set off Meng Wei as Yi Jin lied to her.  She slapped Yi JIn hard a couple of times.

Finally, the slap woke Yi Jin from her years of being bullied by her own mother. This was the catalyst.  She told her mother that she lied just like how her mother lies to her sending her to blinddates she did not know abou and more.

Anyway, they got back to the apartment and Yi Jin started packing her mother’s things.  Meng Wei was so annoyed and told her daughter that she was so disappointed with her.  She almost died giving birth to her.

Yi Jin cannot be bullied anymore.  She said that she always know that her mother looked down on her but she said she looks down on her mother as well.  Yi Jin then wrote an IOU to pay off every cent her mtoher spent on her.

Her mother tore the note and finally said she was leaving not because she was being pushed out but with her own accord.

Her mother got home but did not wait to tell her sycophantic mother and sisters how bad Yi Jin was.  Of course, they told her that she had to forgive her daughter; that was being a mother was.

Yi An came to see Yi JIn the next morning and told her that she should try to understand her mother.  Seriously, I lost respect fo Yi An. 🤣🤣🤣. She knew how her sister was like as a mother!

Anyway, Yi Jin was not bending.  She had a make over, she cut her hair and looking like a cool girl.

She went shopping and later had coffee with Zhou Dao.

Meanwhile, Nana confessed to Yi Jin that she was unhappy not because Xiaoyan is always going on business trips, she was concerned that she will become an appendage.  She wanted to be working as hard as him on a project.

Yi Jin told her that if she works as hard as Xiaoyan, they won’t really have time to be together.  Nana was okay with that she said that as long as she was in Xiaoyan’s heart, she was fine not seeing each other often.

Episode 21

Mr Cui’s sexual harassment on the female staff had been rambled.

Meanwhile, Yi Jin started sending money to Meng Wei to pay for her upbringing.  This really annoyed Meng Wei so she intended to sent the money back but her bank card was with her husband who refuse to return it to her.

So she sneaked into his private room and search for her card.  As soon as she found it, she went to the bank and found that there was hardly any money on it except for the money sent by Yi Jin.  She retuned it back.

She also remembered how mean her husband been over the years.

Episode 22

I reckon Meng Wan Qing has breast cancer but she was taking her time having it checked.  There was also a hint that her husband might start a relationship with a young woman who fancy him something rotten.

Meng Wei has found new friends but she might get involved in some sort of pyramid scheme and investment scam.

Meanwhile, Zhou Dao waited for Yi Jin outside her work as he wanted to talk.  He told her that he will tell her about his mother.

Yi Jin ignored him and told him that there was no point.  They don’t have any connection anymore and carried on walking away from him.

He followed her to the train station but she told him not to follow. So as she went down the escalator, he blurted that his mother was in prison for killing his father.

Yi Jin was shocked and went to a cafe with Zhou Dao to hear the full story.  He said that he hated his father since he was a boy because he habitually beat him and his mother.  They were on the point of running away when his father beat his mother again.  She had had enough and ended up killing him.

Yi Jin felt sorry for Zhou Dao but she can’t really say much as she was in shock.

Nana and Xiaoyan are getting on like a house on fire.  They were both too scientifically and mathematically inclined that they calculated the meagre amount of time that they were together. Xiaoyan suggested that they should live together to maximise the time they were with each other.

Nana was happy with the idea but she asked for time because she cannot really leave Yi Jin in the lurch as she shares the apartment rent.  Yi Jin would not be able to affored it all by herself.

Qiuxia and Sang Yunfan were both vying for Yi An’s attention. Yi An is secretly enjoying it and pretending nothing was happening.🤣

Episode 23

Yap, Meng Wei became a victim of the pyramid scheme.   And it is true, that Yi Jin is her punchbag because with other people, she is as gentle as a lamb.  To the end, she was refusing to believe that Mrs Gao was a con artist despite evidence.

Wan Qing was so good with farsightedness in rescuing her.  She had to call Mr Zheng to help her look for her sister as her husband was busy dancing with his young dance partner.

Yi Jin was worried about her mother but when she spoke to her mother, all she got was snide remarks.  Her father was no different when Yi Jin called him.  He told her to stop pretending to be filial.

It is true, that Yi Jin is Meng Wei personal punchbag because with other people, she is as gentle as a lamb.  To the end, she was refusing to believe that Mrs Gao was a con artist despite evidence. She also allowed her husband to confiscate her bank card again.

Episode 24

Mr Cui attacked Yi Jin but Zhou Dao turned up and beat up Mr Cui and would have gone on turning Mr Cui into a pulp if Yi Jin did not stop him.

Mr Cui promised not to bother Yi Jin again.

The issue about Zhou Dao aggressive behaviour was like a shadow of his past between him and Y|i Jin.  He assured Yi Jin that he was not like his father.

Yi Jin believed him and told him that she wanted to make up.  So they reconciled.

Nana saw them in a rather intimate situation so Zhou Dao left telling Yi Jin that he will contact her via wechat.

Nana asked Yi Jin if she was really sure getting back with Zhou Dao as Meng Wei is throw such a strop when she finds out.

Yi Jin said that she was planning to tell her mother everything including Zhou Dao’s past.

Nana broached the subject of her moving in with Xiaoyan.

Yi Jin was all for it.  She told Nana not to worry about her as she will ask Zhou Dao to move in with her.

So Xiaoyan and Zhou Dao did the lifting for the move which is only a few floor above as they live i the same apartment building.

Nana was surprised to find that despite living together, it does not mean they will be sleeping together because Xiaoyan told her to take the big bedroom while he sleeps at the study room.  Nana was rather disappointed but fell in love all over again at the sleeping face of Xiaoyan on the couch.

It was the death anniversary of the Meng sisters father. Eveyone attended including Nana and Yi Jin but Yi An was not there.  Meng Wei and Wan Qing wanted to know when Yi An would ever reconcile herself on their father’s death.

Episode 31

Mr Zheng got the brunt of Wan Qing’s ire when she found out that he contacted Nana and gave her a hint of Wan Qing’s condition.

Mr Zheng was unrepentant. Instead, he made it appear that he would do anything if she does not schedule a surgery as soon as possible.  As a tester, he went to visit Wan Qing’s mother in the hospital.

Yi Jin had dinner with her mother and father.  She then broached the subject of divorce.  Her father would not hear any of it.  He refuses to divorce.

So Yi Jin did some plotting to get him to see her grandma to talk some sense into him.

Finally, the father agreed to a divorce after Grandma told him that he could continue to live in the apartment for his lifetime and she would pay his debts or she will throw him out of the house with nothing as the apartment he and Ming Wei was living in was actually in Grandma’s name.

I must say Yi An has the most boring, inconsequential storyline.  She found out that her boyfriend was into dirty dealings so she decided to break with him not only in their business partnership but also in their personal relationship as well.  This made Quixia rather elated.

Episode 32

Nana was all packed to go visit her mother.  Xiaoyan said that he will take her to the train station but before hand, he told her that he really wanted their relationship to work so he thought they should really get to know each other thorougly.

He then gave her a missive of what her good points were as well as her bad points.

Nana read that according to him she has 12 good points but she has 4 pages of things to improve on including her snoring.  She denied that she snores but he said he knew she would say it so he recorded it.  He was about to play it when Nana lost her temper.  But he was calm and told her that her snoring can be treated.  She hurriedly told him that he was going.🤣🤣🤣

Poor Xiaoyan was left clueless of what he did wrong.🤣🤣🤣

Ming Wei was waiting at the Civil Affair Bureau with Wan Qing when Nana called that she was on a taxi to the hospital.  Wan Qing told her where she was.

Meanwhile, Wan Qing called Yi Jin what was keeping her father away.  Yi Jin had to confess that her father had locked himself into the apartment refusing to come out.

So everyone came into the apartment and Nana kicked the door open.  Still, Li Cheng Zhi refuse to divorce but then Yi JIn expected it so she already called the two men who were hunting for Li Cheng Zhi for debt payments.

Yi Jin told her father that he had two choices: be taken to the police station or divorce her mother and she will pay his debts.

So the divorce finally happened.

Yi An also showed up.  The family thought that Li Cheng Zhi will be a constant problem living in the same building, they decided that Grandma should move to a bigger apartment afterall, she will also be living with Ming Wei

Episode 33

It was rather problematic to move Li Cheng Zhi out of the apartment but in the end Grandma gave permission to the real estate agent full control.

Li Cheng Zhi knew that he was defeated.

Yi Jin pitied her father so she rernted an apartment for him and gave him 2000 monthly living allowance.

Grandma had a talk with Yi An who confessed that she was already divorced from Qiuxia.  Grandma said that of all of her son-in-laws she thougth Qiuxia was the keeper.

Yi An supervised the purchase of a new apartment under Ming Wei’ name as decided by Grandma so Ming Wei could have a property of her own.

Episode 34

Wan Qing went for her surgery without telling her immediate family.  Only a concerned Mr Zheng was there despite Wang Qing telling him to leave as she does not really want him there.

Yi Jin took her mother to the hospital for a check-up.  It so happened they saw Mr Zheng who Ming Wei recognised as Wan Qing’s boss.

She approached him and asked him why Wan Qing went on a business trip when she was supposed to go with him?  Ming Wei was getting more hysterical because she thought Wan Qing was missing.

Mr Zheng was forced to confess that Wan Qing was in the hospital and currently being operated as she has breast cancer.

Ming Wei almost fainted.  Yi Jin, Ming Wei and Mr Zheng went to find out what was happening to Wan Qing who was just being wheeled back into a room.

Mr Zheng left Ming Wei and Yi JIn to see to Wan Qing.

When Wan Qing came to, she was grateful that her big sister was there.  She remembered a time when she was still in middle school how embarrassed she was on her disabled sister who used to bring her packed lunch.

Ming Wei understood then and used to just leave Wan Qing’s lunch near her classroom without disturbing her.  Wan Qing felt a wave for love for her sister.

Meanwhile, Nana was having another domestic with Xiaoyan, it got so bad, she asked him if he was breaking up with her.

He was shocked but he intimated that it looks like she was attracted to him because of the privileges given to him.  He thinks that she would have not looked at him twice if he had been ordinary.

This made Nana really sad that she had to leave and go for a walk.

She met Zou Dao who told her to call Yi Jin to talk with as he saw Nana crying.  He said that it was good to share her troubles with someone else.

She did call Yi Jin who blurted out that Wan Qing had been hospitalised and had had surgery for breast cancer.  She assured Nana that Wan Qing’s operation was a success.

Poor Nana was gutted but Yi Jin told her to keep calm and come down the next morning.

Nana and Wan Qing had a happy reunion.  Wan Qing told Nana that after going through the operation, she decided to make a few changes in her life.  For one thing, she would divorce Da Lei.  Nana was sad but she understood.  She said her mother should do anything she wanted and she will support her.

Nana met up with Xiaoyan.  They had a heart to heart.  Xiaoyan told her that he really did not mean to break up with her it was just he felt that Nana pushing him to persevere in his career and studies was no different from his parents pressuring him to do better and yet they never told him that he was doing it well.    He said that he realised that everything comes rather easy for him because of his parents but he was rather sick of it.  He wanted to do what he likes now at his own pace.

Nana finally understood.

Ming Wei attended a Cranberry play and she was very proud of Yi Jin as the theatre manager.

As Yi Jin was was otherwise engaged with her staff, it was left to Zou Dao to take Ming Wei home.  It was unfortunate at first that the lift was broken and poor Zou Dao had to half-carry Ming Wei on the stairs to the Eight Floor.  This seemed to have really broken the ice between Ming Wei and Zou Dao because she told him that he was not really responsible for his parents’ faults and criminality🤣 and as such she has no longer disapprove his relationship with Yi Jin.  All she asked of him was to treat Yi Jin well.

Yi Jin overheard what her mother said which made her so happy.  And when her mother decided to go home, it was the first time that Yi Jin was actually sad to  see her mother leave.

Ming Wei came home to a rather stressful situation.  It turned out that Meng Xiaorong, their father had another family.

His son with his son and grandson had come to see Meng Xiaorong because his original wife had died but had left a will wanting to be buried next to Xiaorong.,

Everyone was shocked except for Yi An who had also turned up to help with the move of her mother to another bigger apartment with an elevator.

Episode 40

Everything was wrapped up well,.

Meng Xiaorong had always felt guilty of his first wife so he used to send her money and as she would return the money, Meng Xiaorong put it to good use by doing charitable work.  Though, he was a good husband to Qiao Ha Yun and a father to Ming Wei, Wang Qin and especially to Yi’an, Xiaorong was more on the arty side so it was left to Ha Yun to earn money for the family.

Anyway, Ming Wei and Wang Qin and their mother had always wondered why Yi An never attends memorial of Xiaorong who doted on her.

Yi An finally said that their father was not calling for her on his deathbed but his first wife.  So she was not really surprised ot learn that he had another family but she was quick to point out that her mother was the legal wife while the first wife was an arranged marriage without having it registered.

Qiao Ha Yun was so gutted to find that her husband kept secrets but she finally said that if his first family wanted him dug up and transferred to his hometown then she was ok about it.

YiAn and Qiuxia reconciled but Qiuxia knew that Yi An was not ready to make their relationship legal and official.  He said he will give her time.

Ming Wei told her sisters that she was not comfortable having the new apartment put in her name afterall she was only adopted.

Both Wang Qin and Yi An assured her that she was their sister and that is all to it.

Wang Qin finally got a signed divorce paper from Tao Da Lei.  Their scene was something really poignant.  Tao Da Lei let her go because he admitted he was stupid to realise how important she is to him.  He gave her a hug which was so heartwarming then he quickly walked away.

Meanwhile, Nana told Zheng Bin that she had not problem with him being with her mother,  Only to really treat her mother well.

Nana was on a date with Xiaoyan.  She laughingly reminded him that the day was actually an anniversary for her first ill-fated confession to him.

He smiled and reached something from his backapack and gave her a replica rocket.  He then told her that he loves her.  He really loves her.  She hugged him and confessed that she loves him too.

Yi Jin had also a happy ending because Zou Dao proposed to her and she said yes.

They the family gathered together for a photoshoot at the new apartment.  Grandma, the three daughters, and the three granddaughters.

Zhou Dao was taking the photo while Xiaoyan watched.

The Yi Jin was at the beach with young girls who asked her about the lands on the other side.  She told them that they are islands, though they are separated, they are also connected.
