Episode 1

13 July 2001, Beijing.

Guan Zhi Zhi and Zhou Shi Hui were registering their wedding.  There friends waited outside but they got concerned that the couple were taking too long just to sign the marriage document.

After a few more minutes, Zhou Shi Hui ran out of the building followed by a very irate Guan Zhi Zhi.  She told them that Zhou Shi Hui decided at the last second that he did not want to marry her.

Guan Zhi Zhi beat up Zhou Shi Shi and the other female friends joined in hitting him.

Huang Zhen Hua, who is Zhou Shi Shi’s best friend rescued him and drove him away.   Zhou Shi Shi confessed that he thought his seven years relationship with Zhi Zhi was just going in circle.  He also added that he fell in love with someone else.

Huang Zhen Hua was shocked at the audacity of his friend but then he became furious when he found out that Zhou Shi Shi dumped Guan Zhi Zhi because Shi Shi had fallen in love with Rosie, Huang Zhen Hua’s sister who was interning in their architectural firm.

Huang Zhen Hua assigned Zhou Shi Shi to mentor Rosie because Shi Shi is the most sedate amongst the men in the firm as well as about to marry Guan Zhi Zhi.

Zhou Shi Shi confessed that it was love at first sight for him with Rosie. Rosie was bright and luminous.  She glows.

Huang Zhen Hua dismissed it because Rosie attracts attentions all the time, every single day.  Their parents were used to it after being called at school when boys would fight over Rosie all the time.

Zhou Shi Shi however said that it was actually mutual.  He went on dates with Rosie.  Huang Zhen Hua started beating Zhou Shi Shi and left him stranded.

He got home and phoned his sister to come down from the house.  Rosie was unrepentant.  She said that it was nothing to do with her that Zhou Shi Shi had to cancel his marriage.  She added that Guan Zhi Zhi was lucky.

Guan Zhi Zhi at that moment turned up at the house looking for Huang Zhen Hua to quiz him over the reason why Zhou Shi Shi dumped her.  She then realised that it was because of Rosie and she became absolutely mental despite Rosie denying that she was even remotely interested with the old Zhou Shi Shi.

Huang Zhen Hua ushered Guan Zhi Zhi out who was going out of control as she was slightly drunk.

In the house, the parents told off Rosie for leading a man and breaking up a marriage.  Rosie could not really understand that it was her problem.  Her mother ended up slapping her when Rosie sarcastically admitted that she was into Zhou Shi Shi.  They all know it was a lie but still Rosie was locked in her room.

The next morning when they allowed her out, her room was already empty.  Rosie climbed out from the window to go to work.

Episode 2

The start of romance is the end of wisdom.

Because of what happened with her mother, Rosie decided to stay at uni and refused to go home.  Her father visited her at uni with braised shrimps cooked by her mother. This apparently is Rosie’s favourite.

She asked her father why a romantic man like him would marry her mother who is strict and can be tempetous.

Her father quoted Bouhot and Bacon (see above).  But Rosie wanted to hear his reason from his own words.  Well everything about love has been quoted before like love is blind, love has its own reason which reason does not know. Or love make stupid of us all.

Her father said that love is like an abstract painting, you see what you want to see.  Anyway the idea of a braised pork was too tempting for Rosie so she went home with her father.

She hugged her mother tenderly and tightly as if nothing had happened.

She then announced her goal of getting a job rather than studying for her Phd.  Her mom was against it at first but she did see her point that she had to study to get a job but then if a good job is available now, why still study and miss her chance.

Her mother gave her a proviso.  She can work if she pass her interview and if she can also pass her internship.

Meanwhile, Guan Zhi Zhi walked out with her head held high from Zhou Shi Hui after realising that seven wasted years with Zhou Shi Hui is better than a lifetime.

Episode 3

Rosie asked her father to get her a mobile phone for work.  She managed to secure a job of an assistant to the General Manager of Cyan.

Again, because she is so luminous and bright, everyone loves her.  Even her new boss, Jiang Que Joing saw her great potential.

Rosie was so proactive at work that Su Geng Sheng who first spotted her during the interview was impressed.

Epiosde 4

Of all people, Huang Zhen Hua, her brother who had been lovelorn for ages was giving love/men advice to Rosie.  Although, he was surprised that Rosie needed advice at all as she had been courted, stalked, loved and admired thoughout her young life.  He teased ther that she must be in love.

He saw that she was indeed in a love bubble so gave her advice which actually worked.

I love her character because at no point – so far – that she had embarassed herself running after a guy.

I love love this drama because it showed the situation with Zhuang Guo Dong and how he feels about Rosie.  Just like most men, he was attracted with her at first sight.

Episode 5

Huang Zhen Hua is rather having an awkward relationship with Bai Xiao He.  It was so awkward they had nothing to talk about.  But Huang Zhen Hua persevered and try to make a go of having a deeper connection with her.  He invited her to meet his parents.

She awkwardly declined then confessed that three months ago she was in a relationship with a guy for five years.  She thought they would marry but he chose to go back to his hometown as per the wishes of his parents. Then she found out that he went on a blind date.  She concluded that she was not ready to commit to another person.

Huang Zhen Hua understood and wished her well.

Episode 6

Rosie went on a business trip with Su Geng Sheng in the role of a curator.  The trip was a success.

Meanwhile, Zhuang Guo Dong was stressed from his warring parents who were about to divorce.  He then texted Rosie to ask her when she was coming back.

Rosie then knew she had him hook line and sinker. She was excited but told him that when she comes back she will not be returning to their team because she had been transferred to another department as a promotion.

They ended up chatting on the phone both giddy with their mutual attraction.

When Rosie finally got back to Beijing, Zhuang Guo Dong was waiting for her at the airport.  They were straightforward with each other.

Zhuang Guo Dong took her to his home and to his bed.  She stayed with him until past midnight and when she finally got back home, Huang Zhen Hua was waiting for her and scolded her staying out so late.  He then got suspicious when he could smell men’s collogne on her.  I thought he could smell the aftermath of passionate copulation🤗🔥

Episode 7

Huang Zhen Hua and Bai Xiao He broke up.

Episode 8

Huang Zhen Hua was surprised when Rosie told their parents that she has a serious boyfriend.  Her mother asked to see a photo of her boyfriend.

The mother was suitably impressed with Zhuang Guo Dong but Rosie’s father was not convinced that Rosie should be dating at all.

Anyway, the parents asked Rosie if she could bring Zhuang Guo Dong for a meal at the house so they could meet him.

Rosie did ask Zhuang Guo Dong about meeting the parents but he was far far from being enthusiastic.  In fact, he said that he wanted the relationship just to be between them.

Because Rosie pouted prettily, Zhuang Guo Dong gave in but he said he was about to go on a business trip.

On the day of his return, Rosie went into his appartment. She saw an email about Paris and assumed he was arranging a holiday for then together.

When he called, she excitedly mentioned about the email.  He was rather shocked at first that she was reading his emails but she told him that she did not.  She just happened to see the subject line of the message.

He then told her to read the email as it was in English.

Rosie read the email and she got more upset as she got to the end of the long message.  It was a confirmation of his new job in Paris as an Assistant Director.

Rosie asked him if he was taking the job. He said yes.  She got upset that he did not discuss it with her.  He told her that he had applied for the position long before he knew her.

Rosie wanted to know if they were breaking up.  Zhuang Guo Dong said that they were not. They were going to be in a LDR.  Rosie said LDR means the same country but just different state not completely a different country.

She got more petulant and hysterical.  Because Zhuang Guo Dong was going on a meeting, he cut her call off and turned off his mobile phone.

Rosie got so depressed, she drank the wine in his house.  She got so drunk she started thrashing his house as she can’t contact him she was venting her frustration on to his house.

With the noise she was making, the police was called and so was Zhuang Guo Dong’s father who was very symphatic to Rosie.  He told her to break everything in the house but just not to harm herself. Su Geng Sheng also turned up.

She cried and cried until Su Geng Sheng took her home.

That night Rosie decided that she and Zhuang Guo Dong were over for good.

The next morning Zhuang Guo Dong was waiting for her outside her house.  He tried to hug her but she told him to get off.  She told him that they were over.

Zhaung Guo Dong tried to ask her if she was really sure. She smiled at him and said yes.  He tend told her that he hoped she made the right decision.

Her passionate first love is over.

Episode 9

They reconciled and had a very passionate making up.  They agreed to try LDR but they had to video call each other as often as possible.

Meanwhile, the lonely Huang Zhen Hua and even lonelier Su Geng Sheng started a cute but awkward friendship.  Actually it is more of a frenemy relationship.

Episode 10

Huang Zhen Hua had the most unlucky feet.  He tripped, then he dropped a dumbbel over it that he bought from Su Geng Sheng.  He blamed Su Geng Sheng for giving him the dumbbels on a not quite secure box.  He emotionally blackmailed Su Geng Sheng to become his unofficially nanny.  They are so cute.

Rosie saw off Zhuang Guo Dong/Eric to the airport for France.  Their goodbyes were so passionately sad.

Despite it, life has to go on and Rosie was doing well at her job.  She was especially congratulated for a job well done.  She wanted to tell Eric about it but he was too busy at work.  Rosie got a bit jealous because Eric did not call he as promised but saw a photo of him in a bar with his colleague which includes Naomi, his boss.

Episode 11

Being away from each other was bringing them both stress.  Instead of Eric pacifying Rosie, he started shouting at her about having to report everything that he does to her.

He did realised that he had to sort out their problems.  He video called her again and apologised.  He told her that he was absolutely exhausted with getting to the job, training and socialising with his new colleagues.

Rosie was missing Eric so much she decided to go to France. She resigned from her job despite both Tina and Su Geng Sheng telling her that she was mad to giving up her work/project for a man.  But she already made up her mind.

Huang Zhen Hua managed to convince Su Geng Sheng to be his exercise trainer.

With her yellow cabin suitcase which seems like a TARDIS as it can contained all her beautiful dresses and accessories, Rosie surprised Eric in Paris.  After an initial passionate interlude, Eric became busy with reports and had hardly time for.  But he told her that his salary will double soon and they will be able to rent an apartment in Paris.

Rosie was shocked that Eric was thinking of moving to France permanently.  She said tha she could not leave her parents but Eric was not sympathetic at all.  He said tha ther parents still got her brother at home.  As she studied art, Paris is the best place for her as it is the centre for art.  Rosie was annoyed that Eric was making plans for them both again and not consulting her.

They made up again and Eric toured her to Louvre to imbibe art.  But he was just too busy he was always on his mobile.  They went ot a restaurant and he suggested to just get some sandwiches to make it quick. He then took her to see the Eiffel Tower but again, they just took the standard photo together in front of the Eiffel and that was that.  Rosie feels she does not belong and more of an inconvenience.

Episode 12

Eric took Rosie to a party hosted by his mother.  An ex-friend was there who looks chummy with Eric’s mother.  More than ever, Rosie feels redundant.

She knew it was time to go home.

Rosie went back to work.

She was surprised to find out that Tina was actually married to a Mr Gu who is based in Hong Kong.  Though they love each other, Tina realised that she would like to live for herself and not just an appendage to Mr Gu.

Now, she had decided to divorce Mr Gu but here was a complication because she just found out that she got pregnant the last time she saw Mr Gu.

Her story seemed to have inspired Rosie to break up with Eric and for good this time.

They were both heartbroken, but Rosie was firm in her decision.

Episode 28

Rosie can’t take Fang Xie Wen’s controlling manner so she initiated a divorce.  Her effort was thwarted when it was thrown out of court.  Her lawyer told her that it was normal.  She could try again in six months’ time.

Meanwhile, Fang Xie Wen was making a lot of money but he was not happy.  He got so drunk and when he came home, he collapsed in front of Rosie.

She took him to the hospital and stayed with him with their young daughter, Taichu.  He had alcohol poisoning.

Fang Xie Wen knew that it was really over with her and was suitably grateful that despite their ill-feelings towards each other, she saved his life.  So he finally agreed to a divorce.

Rosie left Shanghai for Beijing. She went into business with Tina to open an art gallery.

Rosie was very hands-on and supervise the renovation of the art gallery. Almost the first person she met was Zhaung Guo Dong who wanted to rekindle their romance and start where they left off.  He said that he was determined to pursue her again,

But then there was Taichu.  It looks like Zhuang Guo Dong is not too enamoured with little children even if there were so cute.  So the relationship was a non starter.

Rosie however is always been a popular girl. Pu Jia Ming had heard about her and was curious to meet her.

He turned up at the opening of the art gallery just to meet Rosie.  But he was disappointed as Rosie was in the hospital with a feverish Taichu.

Episode 29

At the gallery, Pu Jia Ming found a hidden rose puzzle.  He was so curious, he followed the secret signs and ended up in a hidden room where there was painting of the sea.

He noticed that the painting was positioned against the window so that the movement of the light could give the painting various perspective.

He got more drawn to the painting when he noticed that it was signed by Huang Yimei/Rosie.

To make sure that Rosie turns up, Jia Ming told his brother, Fu Jia Min that he altered Rosie’s painting.

Of course, Rosie had to investigate what happened.

What she noticed was that the painting was not changed but music was added to the room that made the painting of the sea more vibrant and almost interactive.

Rosie ended up dancing.  Rosie was so intrigued she wanted to meet Fu Jia Ming.  She was told that he was having a gig at Elephant Music Bar.  Fu Jia MIng is a musician.

They were getting on famously, then ended up having noodles at his studio.  But then she saw that he was looking at a box of viagra.

Rosie called him sick and pervert and run off.  He did run after her telling her that she misunderstood.  He said that he was sick but Rosie was beyond listening.  She refused to talk to him and won’t accept his calls.

But he was determined to correct her misconception of him.  So he stalked her to the kindergarten.  She was aghast to see him and called him once again a pervert, he told her that she was the perverted one.  She willingly went to his house on their first meeting.

Taichu saved the day.  Rosie noticed that Jia Ming has a lot of patience with kids.
