Episode 1

Young Guo Jing was protecting another boy from being attack when he got hit himself.  He would have been beaten to death if the seven mysterious men and a woman had not suddenly turned up.

His saviours asked who were his parents as the leader looked at Guo Jing’s dagger.

Guo Jing said that his mother was Li Ping and his father was Guo Xiaotian.

The men and woman introduced themselves as the Seven Heroes of Jiang Nan and they had been searching had been for Guo Jing for six years.

The Seven Heroes were Ke Zhen’e, the Flying Bat of Seven Freaks of Jiangnan.  Quan Jinfa, the Hidden Hero.  Nan Xiren, Southern Hill Woodcutter  Han XiaoYing as the Yue Maiden Sword.  Zhang Asheng as the Laughing Buddha will help to seek revenge.  Zhu Cong Marvellous-Handed Scholar. And Han Baoju as the Horse Deity.

They took back Guo Jing as their new disciple.

There were a lot of upheaval at the desert of the martial art’s world. Mei Chaofeng, the demoness killed Zhang Asheng as he protected Guo Jing.

Guo JIng felt so much remorse of causing the death of his master.

Ke Zhen’e assured him that living and dying is a natural order in the martial world. It is their fate.  But he said Guo Jing must do his best to perfect his martial arts to avenge his master as well as his parents.  The boy was only too willing to learn but his masters could only shake their heads because Guo Jing is hopeless. 🤣 It has been ten years and Guo Jing had not really improved despite really practising enthusiastically.

He later overheard his masters talking that Guo Jing was not ready for the contest that was about to take place.

Feeling rather ashamed, Guo Jing secretly pratised some more in the woods. Someone sniggered at his effort.  He said his masters had been teaching every technique possible and yet Guo Jing had not learned.  Guo Jing was asked why was that.

Guo Jing honestly said that because he is stupid.

The man said that he could not take Guo Jing as a disciple as he was already affiliated with more than capable masters.  What he could do was to leave Guo Jing something to think about.

Guo Jing started to practise the mantra the shaolin master had told him. The mantra somehow unlocked his inner qi so the next time he practise with his master, they were flabbergasted at how improved their disciple was.

They became immediately suspicious that Guo Jing had been practising with Mei Chaofeng.  She had turned him against them.  The masters agreed to end Guo Jing’s life before he could do damage to them.

That night, they followed him as he walked into the forest.  They attacked him and would have killed him but to their surprise, Guo Jing did not make a move, he remained still awaiting his fate on their hands.They accused Guo Jing of colluding with the demoness.  The mystery man turned up and said that it was all a misunderstanding.  Though he had not taught Guo Jing any martial art, he helped him unlock his inner qi.

Right that moment, the demoness turned up.  The masters were unable to do much damage against the demoness.  The only person that could come near the demoness prowess was Ma Yu of the Seven Immortals of Quangzhen.  Guo Jing helped him and stabbed the demoness.

The demoness decided to escape but warned them that she will be back.

Because of the possible return of the demoness, the Seven Heroes decided to stay at the desert while sending Guo Jing to go to the contest alone.

They told him to remember the 24 of March meet up at the Zuixian Restaurant in Jiaxing.  They would find him there.

Guo Jing arrived in town and immediately met a begger, Huang Rong.  Huang Rong was a runaway who felt so overwhelmed at the kindness of Guo Jing.

Then Guo Jing came upon a contest in the plaza.  He was not the only intrigued with the contest, Yang Kang, the Prince of Jin went to see what a martial duel for spouse was about.

It was explained to him that Mu Nian Ci who is of marriageable age refuses to marry anyone unless the potential groom could defeat her.

Yang Kang decided to have a go despite Mu Nian Ci’s father telling him that it would mean marriage if he defeats Mi Nian Ci.  He said that the contest was for the commoners.

Anyway, Yang Kang and Mu Nian Ci fought.  It was a good fight but Yang Kang was the much better fighter.

He later said that it was just a game.  He was not marrying anyone.  Poor Mu Nian Ci and her father were humiliated.
