Lucky Lady Bird

Today at lunchtime, as usual I went for a short perambulation around the locale of my work. After eating my sandwich, I like to get away from the office even for a short time to clear my head.

I normally visit  a local library or a good bookshop. If the weather is OK I, like some other fellow workers,  like to sit on a bench located in a quiet square surrounded by elegant( and premium expensive) four storey Georgian town houses. Today being nearly mid November was unusually not too cold, with warm sun breaking through the clouds. As I sat reading my book, an unusual and unseasonal little visitor landed on my arm, a tiny Ladybird insect.

I looked at it and I guess it looked back at me, I raised my arm slightly and it opened its wonderful spotted red shell to display wings and demonstrate use as it flew away into the sun light. I wistfully watched it wend its way into freedom of the sky as I headed back to the office!

Having a Ladybird land on you is regarded as a lucky omen, maybe I will do the lottery this weekend  heres hoping!
