This drama started all jolly. The creme de la creme of society were dining at Ristorante Roccabianca, the foremost Italian restaurant in Japan.
The award-winning chef and owner of the restaurant suddenly suffered a brain hemorrhage which led to a coma. Whilst he was in that state, the restaurant began losing customers and the sous chefs started to leave one by one.
The maitre ‘d, also the manager, happens to be the daughter of the owner. It was left to her to look after the ailing restaurant.
What was she to do?
She had to hire another head chef, who she hoped would galvanised the sous chef and staff who were beginning to lack motivation.
I love this kind of dramas. The food preparation is so interesting; awesome. It makes you want to go and try some cooking yourself.
The ending is slightly sad. But then again Ezaki often said that he lives and breathes food and cooking and love doesn’t come into the equation. Without his ability to cook and create new recipes he might as well be dead. That is why as much as Saori would like to have a relationship with him, it was not going to happen. Ahhhh they would have made such a cute couple.
