Li Su Su was tasked to go back in time as a mortal, Ye Xi Wu, the daughter of a general.  Her mission was to kill Tan Tai Jin before he turns into the demon lord who killed many.

Episode 1

Blurb: The devil god is the origin of all sins, and the bringer of calamities, disasters, and deaths.

Whoa, Luo Yunxi is charismatically gorgeous as the devil god complete with reddish eyes and black leathery hanfu. Wow.

The first episode is impressive, the CGI is good and the pacing is exciting.  At first, Bai Lu’s acting concerned me a little bit but she improved.

Apparently, 10,000 years ago all the immortals were killed together with the devil god but then all of a sudden, the devil god turned up out of nowhere stronger and more powerful.

This devil god has a mission of killing all the mortals and started with the various sects.  He was looking for the legendary Divine Mirror which he found out was the only thing that could defeat/kill him.

Li SuSu heard that her father and uncle went to battle it out with the devil god.  She followed them and saw them almost crashed by the devil god.

Her father threw the divine mirror which is a Mirror of the past to SuSu.  He told her to go back to the Henyang sect.

Susu complied but she was chased by the devil god who used his special Sky Slashing Sword on her. Susu was saved by Gong Ye Ji Wu, her best friend.

A trickle of her blood fell into the Divine Mirror which activated it and protected her.  She entered into a realm where it was explained to her that she was the Chosen One, the only one that could end the devil god.  She can use the Divine Mirror to send herself to the past and reverse or change destiny,  She must remember the face of the devil god to find him in the past and then break his bone and then kill him completely.

She also found out that Tan Tai Jin, the devil god was not born bad despite being a demon fetus.  He was horrendously and severely bullied when he was just a weak mortal, in essence, he was driven to become evil.

Back at Henyang, she met her father and uncle who she told what she had learned.

They told her that she must do her mission in order to protect the four continents and three realms.  They prepared the ritual of sending her 500 back into the past at the Sheng Kingdom.

Susu was tethered high held by Light Breaching Array when the devil god turned up.  Poor Susu saw every one of her clan killed by the devil god as she was dematerialising.

She was woken up in the mountains by her maid Chuntuo.  Susu pretended that she had memory loss because of the fall.  She does not know who she was.

Chuntuo told her that she was Ye Xi Wu, the daughter of General Ye.  Xi Wu wanted to know how she ended up in the mountains.  Chuntuo said that Xi Wu wanted a bit of a nature walk but they got attacked by the bandits.

The bandits showed up.  The leader seemed to be winking knowingly at Xi Wu but she can’t understand him.  Xi Wu and Chuntuo were surrounded.  Susu was upset that she had lost her cultivation power now that she was Xi Wu.  Out of nowhere, a martial artist turned up and fell the bandits in no time.

Susu noticed that the guy was her best friend, Gong Ye Ji Wu.  She went to hug him but he told her to keep away from him.  He only saved her because it was the right thing to do but he had had enough of her malice.  He said that he will never like her because he would only love Ye Bing Chan in this lifetime.  He then left.

Susu was completely confused when Chuntuo said that Xi Wu had been chasing Gong Ye Ji Wu for some time and would not take no for an answer.

As proof, the bandits came back and asked Xi Wu for their fee.  Apparently, Xi Wu hired them to attack her so she would appear as a lady in distress and Goong Ye Ji Wu would save her.

Susu was beginning to realise that XiWu was not a very nice person.

Back at the Ye Mansion, she asked Chuntuo for help in locating her mission.  She wanted to know if Chuntuo had heard of Tan Tai Jin.

Chuntuo looked at her funnily and said that Xi Wu is married to him as she pointed to a frail-looking man kneeling in the snow.

Susu curiously asked why her husband was kneeling.  Chuntuo said that Xi Wu punished him for saving Binchang who Xi Wu pushed into the pond.  Xi Wu also ended up falling into the water but Tan Tai Jin saved Binchang instead of her.

Susu found it intriguing that both Gong Ye Ji Wu and Tan Tai Jin love Binchang.

Susu could not believe how her mission was going to be so easy.  But then she had to make sure she had the right man so she went to see  Tan Tai Jin face to face and saw his eyes.

She knew it was him but she was looking at him intently to find where his devil bone was. She must destroy his devil bone before she can kill him.

Episode 2

Susu did feel a little guilty of watching Tan Tai Jin knelt on the snowy ground but she told herself that he deserved it being a devil.  But then she realised that at this point, he was still just a weak mortal.

She did go out and perfunctory passed him her own wrap but he refused it so Susu left him to it. It was the fourth day of Tan Tai Jin’s punishment and alas he really almost frost to death.  Susu saw him collapse.  She felt pity towards him but was also concerned that he will die before she could find his devil bone.  If his devil bone is not destroyed this would mean he could just reincarnate once again.

So she took him to her room and warmed him up as much as she can.  Chuntuo was surprised to find them snuggling under a quilt.

Susu ordered Chuntuo to run a hot bath for Tan Tai Jin. While he was half collapsed in the bath, Susu took advantage of the situation. She started fondling him to look for the bone.  The way she was touching him she almost found a boner.🤪🤪🤪. Tan Tai Jin became compos mentis and asked her what she was doing.

She told him to get dressed and rest up.

She went to bed expecting him to share her bed but found him leaning against a wall looking at her resignedly waiting for something.

When she asked him what was the matter, he told her to do what she does to him every night, just get it over and done with.

Susu called Chuntuo to ask her what she usually does to Tan Tai Jin.  Chuntuo matter of factly said that XiWu likes to beat Tan Tai Jin up before she goes to sleep, her whip is under her pillow as usual.

Susu was shocked at how cruel Xiwu was but still, she did whip Tan Tai Jin a few times.  That night she was woken up by Tan Tai Jin.  He was in pain and running a very high fever.

She spent the night looking after him, thus she was sleepless so it was lunchtime when she got up.

Chuntuo told her that the family was waiting for her to share a meal.  Susu was a bit apprehensive, she thought she would be hated but on the contrary, she was much loved and spoiled.  They seemed indifferent to the quiet Binchang but she realised why Gong Ye Ji Wu and Tan Tai Jin were attracted to her.  Binchang is beautiful and kind.

Susu could not help but ask why Tan Tai Jin was not dining with them after all he is her husband.  No one said a thing.

Later on, Chuntuo told her that Xiwu told her family to exclude him because looking at him across the dining table make her gag or lose her appetite.  She asked Chuntuo where he eats his meals.  She was told that he eats in the kitchen with the servants.  She was curious about this and went to check for herself.  She was aghast at how disrespectful everyone was towards Tan Tai Jin but he seemed resigned to his fate though.

Susu scolded the servants but they told her that they were taking revenge on her behalf.

She stopped Tan Tai Jin from serving himself from a bucket of pig swill.  He said that he had no choice.  No matter what it was it is still food and one needs food to live.

Susu dragged him to their villa and served him food. He would not touch them at first.  He said that he learned his lesson the first time.

With her confused face, he elaborated.  Apparently, Xi Wu saw Binchang holding hands with Gong Ye Ji Wu.  She was so enraged with jealousy, she plotted to have someone sleep with Binchang so Gong Ye Jin Wu would not look at Binchang anymore.

She had some food laced with aphrodisiacs.  Somehow, Tan Tai Jin ended up eating one of the cakes and felt the effect of the aphrodisiac.  Before he could collect and control himself, Xi Wu jumped him.  She was drunk.  Their coupling was trending, they were the talk of town so General Ye had no choice but to marry his beloved daughter to Tan Tai Jin, who is a hostage prince of Jing.

The Emperor planned to send back Tan Tai Jin to Jing to create havoc.

Episode 3

This drama is really growing on me.  Loving it.

Anyway, Susu found out from whispers that Tan Tai Jin talks to animal.  Chuntuo asked her if she believes it.  Susu said that as no one had had a time of day for Tan Tai JIn, he could only talk to animals.

Susu began to piece together the sad miserable life of Tan Tai Jin.  The reason why he is so unfeeling and indifferent is that he had no warmth in his life.

Susu felt sorry for him so as Xi Wu, she became kinder which made Tan Tai Jin suspicious.

He was summoned to the palace to have an audience with the Emperor.  The Emperor quizzed him if he wanted to go back to Jing.

Tan Tai Jin said that he does not feel anything about Jing or his family as he does not know them.  He also added that if he gets killed, his family would probably welcome the news.

The Emperor realised that he could not use Tan Tai Jin to create havoc in Jing as he has no ambition whatsoever.  He was just an empty vessel.

Chief Wu thought to use Tan Tai Jin.  He told him that he should spy on the burgeoning relationship between Prince Lin and Bingchang.  Tan Tai Jin refused.

Chief Wu threatened him but a wasp got inside Chief Wu’s ear and he dropped dead.

Prince Lin reported to his father, the Emperor, that there have been cases of people disappearing while sleeping.  He reckoned that a demon was among them.

A demon diviner was summoned.  He was a young bumbling diviner.  Susu had to laugh because he was so inept.

Anyway, the disappearance became more prevalent.

Bingchang was abducted.  The cackling demoness had been abducting people, especially those with grudges because their bitterness and resentment make for good fertilizer to her nightmare blossoms.

The demoness can smell the grudges and the sweetest of all was from Tan Tai Jin.  She went to grab him but Xi Wu saw the demon trail and went to save Tan Tai Jin.  The demoness decided to abduct both.

At the nightmare garden, Susu was cocooned in plastic blossoms and was feeding in her nightmare,  She dreamt that her family and sect were asking her to wake up.

She woke and found Tan Tai Jin standing in front of her.  She asked him to release her, which he did.  He said that he can’t be cocooned because he does not dream.

Xi Wu was shocked at the many people cocooned as fertiliser.  They found Bingchang and Yue YingXing.  They realised that the darker the nightmare the more the victim is enclosed into their cocoon.

Episode 4

Yue Yingxing’s nightmare dust overcome both Xi Wu and Tantai Jin so they ended up in the nightmare of Yingxing.

Tantai and XiWu saw that the Emperor of Jin had taken a woman from the grassland.  She was Concubine Rou, much beloved by the Emperor.  When Concubine Rou got pregnant, the Emperor could not be happier and even sewed infant clothes for the coming baby.

But then Concubine Rou had a hard prolonged labour.  The Emperor ordered to save his wife rather than the baby.  Concubine Rou, however, begged Lan’an to save the baby instead.  She died giving birth and those assisting the birth screamed that the baby was a monster.

The grief-stricken Emperor ordered to have the baby be left to die but Lan An begged the Emperor that Concubine Rou would surely be upset.  The Emperor ordered that Lan An and Yue Yingxing will have full care and control of the baby.  So with their meager savings, they lived frugally.  They did find the baby strange.  His first drink was not milk but the blood he sucked from the finger of Lan An.  He grew up being bullied.  Lan An who really cared for him had to leave to ask for money from the Emperor.  But she never returned so Yingxing was the one who left looking after him.  She was fearful of him.

The demoness turned up in the nightmare and spirited Tantai Jin away.

XiWu continued to observe his fate which got much worst; betrayed by everyone he knew, and abandoned.  When Emperor Jing was defeated, Tantai became a hostage prince of the Sheng.

He was treated worst at the palace.  But the princes, except little Prince Lin, who was a favourite of the King. Tantai began copying Prince Lin but when Prince Lin was sent to learn martial arts for a couple of years, the beating, bullying, and torture began again.

Later on, Tantai finally realised that he could absorb the power of evil and use it.

Episode 5

Bingchang confessed to Xiao Lin (Prince Lin) that she loves him.  He counter-confessed that the feeling is mutual.  He promised to ask the Emperor to allow them to marry.

The Emperor was not enthusiastic because Bingchang was from a prominent military family and might usurp his throne when married to Prince Lin.

But Prince Lin was insistent so the Emperor granted a marriage but Bingchang will only be a side concubine.

Bingchang was very upset being burdened already with the stigma of being a concubine’s daughter so she wanted to be the legal wife.

Xiao Lin convinced her that he loves only her so the wedding proceeded but it turned into a massacre when Tantai Jin decided to exact his revenge on those who bullied him.  His list even included Xi Wu as he overheard her say that she will never love him, in fact, she hated him with such a passion that she even dreamed of killing him.

One by one the crows attacked the name on the list but when it finally came to Xi Wu, Tantai had the compulsion to stop.

He could not kill her.  Then she went to look for him and protected him when she thought he was going to be attacked by crows.  She covered him with her body and he was surprised.

When he asked why she would save him, for lack of something to really say, she blurted that she loves him.  They were both shocked.

He then said that if she really loves him then she should teach him cultivation.

Episode 6

Ye Qingyu, XiWu’s brother came home from guarding the border.  He received a hero’s welcome.  The Emperor admitted that Qingyu was as outstanding as Prince Lin.  Qingyu and Xiao Lin are best friends.

Anyway, Qingyu was very unhappy with his sister who he thought was spoiled.  He punished her to kneel in the memorial chapel.

Anyway, XiWu and Tantai Jin were like a house on fire.  They went shopping in town but spied Qingyu with a prostitute, Pian Ran.  Qingyu was so enthralled with Pian Ran.  I must say I am finding the romance between these two rather unappealing.

Back to Tantai Jin, he realised that going walkabout in town is the best way to find a monster who he could suck power from.

It looks like Pian Ran is a monster.

Episode 7

Jing Lan’An turned up telling Tantai Jin that she returned as she promised, although a bit late.  She had now the resources for him to go back to their tribe.

Tantai Jin said that he does not wish to return to their clan but would like to go back to Jing and exact his revenge.

Tantai Jin kidnapped Xi Wu to go with him.

Xi Wu realised that Tantai Jin had really now gone to the other side.  There was a deeper implication and repercussion if she goes to Jing with him.  Her family will be declared as traitors by the Sheng Emperor so in desperation, she jumped off the barge taking them to Jing which shocked and saddened Tantai Jin.

He ordered the guards to find her whether dead or alive.

Episode 8

They stopped at a port where some of their guards had a shrouded woman as a prisoner.  Tantai Jin ordered to make her comfortable and rest but when the shroud was taken of her head, she was not Xi Wu but an assassin who shot a poison dart into Tantai Jin’s eye.

His brother Tantai Minglan then turned up.  It turned out that Tantai Jin had been once again betrayed.  Jing Lan An betrayed him because of her daughter who she said she loved most in the world.  She owed Tantai Minglan for searching for her daughter when she disappeared so she was now paying for debt of gratitude.

Still, Tantai Jin gave her a chance and asked her if she regretted it at all betraying him.  Lan An said no so he killed her.

But Tantai Jin can’t really escape from Minglan as they were in the middle of the sea.  So just like Xi Wu. he also opted to jump off the ship.

Episode 9

The drowning Susu was saved by an underwater witch who created the World Alluring Jade from the divine bones of 10,000 immortals.  The talking voice told Susu that whoever uses the power of the jade will have a short-lived life with the most violent death.

As she staggered prettily by the seaside, she came upon a body, who happened to be Tantai Jin.  She cradled him and told him that he was not allowed to die.

He told her that it might be too late.

She looked after him and he was able to talk, he recounted what happened and that he was poisoned by the darts that blinded him.

During their conversation, Susu accidentally dropped the World Alluring Jade form her sleeve which was immediately pounced on by a curious Tantai Jin.

She told him about its power and what it can do to him or anyone who tries to use it.

TanTai Jin returned the jade back to her.

Mingyan and his men had not given up on Tantai Jin.  They had been looking for his body.

Mingyan’s demoness sidekick told him to go back to Jiing to deal with the emergency which was just reported to him.  She promised him that she will make sure Tantai JIn was dead.

She did have a duel with Tantai Jin after Susu got injured and collapsed from protecting him.  He found the World Alluring Jade and used it on the demoness.  It was a mighty battle but in the end, the demoness got away.

When Susu came to, she found Tantai Ji almost collapsed again and realised that he had taken in the jade.

She used her power to extract the jade from his body.  The witch came to her in vision and once again warned her about the jade.  She asked the witch if she could tell where in Tantai JI’s body is the devil bone located.

The witch told her that she could find her answer at Barren Abyss.

When Tantai Ji woke up she told him that he could go.

Episode 10

Tantai Ji returned to Jing and immediately killed Tantai Minglan.  He was proclaimed the new king.

Episode 11

Ye Qingyu was ordered by the Sheng Emperor, Xiao Yi, to kill Tantai Ji and everyone else at Jing.

Ye Qingyu had a meeting with Tantai Ji who told him war with the Jings was senseless.  He said that his kingdom does not want to really engage in war but if they must then they are ready.  Tantai Ji explained that the Ye cavalry will be wiped out because of their self-aggrandising deluded emperor.

Ye Qingyu saw the enormity of what could happen so he surrendered to Tantai Jin and offered his service and loyalty to the Jing empire.

Episode 12

Tantai Jin followed Susu inside the sleeping dragon’s dream. Xiao Lin also followed.  While Bingchang accidentally fell into the dream abyss.

Within the dragon dream realm, Tantai Jin became, Mingye the god of war and he was in an unofficial relationship with goddess Tian Huan (Bingchang).

Susu had become Sang Jiu, the clam princess of Moye and her brother was Xiao Lin as Sang You.

Sang Jiu fell in love with Mingye when she saw him fighting with all his might but alas, the demon lord came riding in his chariot in the sky.  After a high-definition duel, he gravely injured Mingye.

Tian Huan was in despair as she cradled a dying Mingye. Sang Jiu took them to the most secret and sacred part of Moye to hide while she left to create a distraction for their enemy.

Tian Huan took the Moye crystal, which was the life energy of the Moye people, to keep Mingye alive.  Tian Huan ended up in a coma while extracting energy stone and transfer it to Ming Ye.

Sang Jiu’s father arrived with Sang You and realised what had happened.  He said their people were as good as dead without the energy crystal.

Sang Jiu who had returned felt guilty so she used her divine energy to restart the Moze energy machine.

Without her divine essence, Sang Jiu had lost her chance to become an immortal which she had been aiming for since she was a child.  But she was happy that she could help Mingye.

Mingye recovered but Sang Jiu’s father told him that because of him Sang Jiu is no longer on the road to immortality so the least Mingye could do for his daughter was to marry her and take her back with him.

Mingye agreed but was not as excited as the very in-love Sang Jiu who totally ignored the fact that Mingye was as good as married to Tian Huan.

Anyway, Ming Ye and Sang Jiu had a beautiful wedding but it stopped there as Mingye failed to turn up to consummate the marriage.

He later told her that she was his wife in name only.

Episode 13

Ming Ye could not help but be intrigued with Sang Jiu.  They had an Adam and Eve moment complete with the tree of immortality with apples.

When he saw her on top of the tree, that was it for him.  He can’t keep away from her.  He began seeking her out and even taught her archery and sword fighting.

One time, while they were having lessons, Ji Ze, the god of time, and Chu Huang the goddess of space turned up.

Ji Ze looked into Sang Jiu’s eyes and recognised her as Susu.  He cryptically told her to remember what she had come to do. Chu Huang gifted her with an energy-binding wifi connecting her directly to Mingye. 🤣 Chu Huang, however, told her that she could only use the link once.  Typical of wifi🤣🤣🤣

Without Sang Jiu’s divine essence, her demonic essence was overpowering her.  She went to meet her brother and asked him why she was feeling weird. He warned her that if she does not overcome her demonic essence, it will make her crazy.

He explained to her that Ming Ye should have by now been doing duo cultivation with her to diminish the power of her inner demons.

Sang Jiu diffidently asked Mingye to do the duo cultivation with her.  He was ready and willing and said that he should have realised it before.

They had an exchange of energy which ended up in a flitting kiss then she collapsed in his arms.

This tender moment was witnessed by the newly awakened Tian Huan who was fulminating with jealousy and rage.  Can’t blame her!  She was in a coma for 100 days and when she woke up her almost-husband was married to someone else who was from a lowly order at that.

So Tian Huan began a campaign of separating Sang Jiu from Ming Ye.  She told Sang Jiu that because Mingye absorbed Sang Jiu’s demonic essence, Ming Ye was no longer a god but now a demi-god.  His power is diminished as a fighter.  She then added that she can help Sang Jiu herself to remove her accumulated demon essence.

Sang Jiu was only too happy to listen to Tian Huan who brought her to a hot acid-bubbling brook.  There she advised Sang Jiu to soak herself for 15 minutes.

Poor Mingye who just came back from gathering starlights for Sang Jiu can’t find her.

Tian Huan however told him that Sang Jiu had another helping her with her duo cultivation.

Episode 14

This episode is exciting, I must say.

The major deities have gathered together for a bit of a blue sky thinking.  They wanted to put together a plan that would once and for all vanish the demon lord.

The deities all agreed that killing the demon lord will not be an easy task.  In fact, it would be almost impossible because the demon lord is nurtured and nourished by all the grievances, atrocities, outrages, tyrannies, despotism, bigotry, and all negative actions of mortal beings.

But it can be done as long as precision is religiously observed. Aligning nine planets together at the exact moment was a must. The gods and goddesses knew that it was a suicide mission.  In effect, only Chu Huang, the goddess of space can come out of the demon lair.  She, therefore, will play the most important task which was to take the demon bone. They prepared themselves for their mission.

Mingye sent a letter to Sang Jiu telling her that she was free to go home and be with the one she truly loves.

Sang Jiu ignored the letter and went looking for a very sad Mingye.  She cannot reach him as he had created a divide between them, an energy shield that served as a curtain separating them.  They can hear each but only Mingye had visuals.   He was tearful as he told her that she does not matter to him and she had been such a waste of his time.  He made her hate him.

Finally, Sang Jiu agreed to go home.

She was all packed but suddenly she put on her make-up and her wedding dress.  She then went back to see Mingye, who she found drunk.  He was drunkenly excited to see her but still told her that she should go home.

Sang Jiu said that she will after he had fulfilled his obligation towards her.

She whispered that he owes her a wedding night sex.  She then drugged him to compliance and had her wicked ways with him.

Whoa, one minute she is a naive girl, the next she is an experienced temptress.

When he woke up the next morning Sang Jiu was already gone.

It was the battle of all battles.

Their plan worked initially.  Chu Huang managed to take the demon bone and scurried away from the Barren Abyss.  Unfortunately, Di Mian a former immortal whose gone bad managed to follow Chu Huang out which created an opening for the demon lord to exit from followed by Mingye who was told by Ji Ze to go while he stays inside the Barren Abyss.

Di Mian asked Chu Huang to give him the demon bone.  They have a backstory.  They were former lovers but now Chu Huang was aghast to find out that Di Mian was not really working for the demon lord because he had no choice.  She realised that it was for his own personal gain.  He told her to give him the demon bone so he and her could rule the three realms and 4 continents.

Really exciting.

Episode 15

It was the battle of all battles. Ji Ze was sealed inside the Barren Abyss to ensure that the other demons can’t get out.

Chu Huang used her dwindling power to protect Mingye who was powerless to shield himself from the onslaught attack of the demon god.

The demon god then finished off Chu Huang.  This enraged Di Mian, who still loves his missus, and stabbed the demon god with his own demon sword that the demon god dropped.

Unfortunately, the demon god was indestructible.  He just sealed in Di Mian for all eternity.  The demon god is a shapeshifter who acquired many arms.  He used these arms to throw bombastic energy at Mingye.

So poor Mingye lost his power and the heavenly pillars collapsed.

Mingye had a mind-to-mind conversation with the remaining gods, who used up their power to feed back to Mingye. they told him that they are saying au revoir, not goodbye.  One day, they will meet again as snow on a mountaintop or pebbles in the streams.

They said that they will leave the holy halberd, Yize, with him.  The CGI was so good in this scene.  Mingye indeed looked like a god.

Indeed the holly halberd was so powerful that it unmasked the demon god.  He was Mingye’s doppelganger, knowing that he was spent for now he promised Mingye that they will meet again.  He then vanished.

Mingye started falling down, down, down

Sang Jiu who was with her brother Sang You felt her heart beating eratically.  They then got a message that all the gods had fallen.

Sang Jiu refused to believe it. Remembering Chu Huang’s gift to her, she twiddled her energy string wifi to contact Mingye.🤣

Sure enough, she located him at the abyss of River Ruo.

Right before her eyes, he metamorphosed into his original form as a baby dragon.  She took the dragon to a nearby hut where she nursed the little dragon encasing him into a clamshell and adding a bit of fern and herbal leaf for extra ambiance; she was willing the little dragon to turn into its human form again.

Sang Jiu was gathering more herbs and when she returned she found Sang You inside the hut but the bowl of clam was nowhere to be found.  When she asked Sang You about it, he told her that he has put it in the kitchen to boil.

She immediately removed the pot with the clam from the stove.  She told Sang You that she was busy with her cultivation and would like to be left alone to concentrate.

Sang, You promised to return in 15 days’ time.

Almost as soon as Sang You left, she heard a crass and found that the little dragon had now taken a human form of Mingye.

She looked after Mingye and when he was awake, they both realised that he was blind

Sang Jiu told him that she was Mozhu, a bamboo fairy.  They got on so well.

Episode 16

Finally, Mingye recovered his sight but he did not tell Mozhu/Sang Jiu.  This was because Sang Jiu said that as soon as he can see, she will leave.

Mingye enjoyed the kind of life they were having, simple, basic, and easy.l

Anyway, while Sang JIu was away at another herbal gathering trek, Tian Huan turned up.  She told him that she had been looking for him practically in all four corners of the world.

He told her to return as he would like to stay at the little cottage for a few more days.  Tian Huan had an ace card under her sleeves. She told him that the Bone Refining Seal was very unstable.

MIngye understood immediately and said that they don’t have much time but sort it out.  He went back inside the cottage and left a rather loving note to Sang Jiu, telling her the urgency of his mission and that he will be back for her.

Unfortunately, Sang Jiu won’t be getting the letter because Tian Huan got to it first and burnt it.

Mingye went to work immediately in removing the bone refining seal and stabilise the plateau so it does not become a demon party zone.

The job was much too big so he had to use and apply everything he has got including the most vital scale of his dragon self that covers his heart something.🤣

He took the now more manageable bone refining seal.  From it, he realised he could cure Sang Jiu, he can give her divine essence back.  To do this he had to work overtime: 4 days and 4 nights of meditation.

While he was meditating, Tian Huan wreak her vengeance on the water people/Clam Tribe.  It was a massacre, total annihilation, and Tian Huan personally killed the king. They then kidnap a lone survivor, Sang You.

Sang Jiu was concerned that she cannot contact her brother via her pearl necklace.  Very concerned she flew to the palace and found everyone dead.  She was beyond heartbroken when she saw her father dead near his throne. As she hugged him a big pearl dropped from his hand.

It was a black box/CCTV pearl.  It played a video of how Tian Huan relished giving orders to her soldiers to kill everybody.  She even told the dying king that Sang Jiu was so stupid, she willingly soaked in a salty pond.

Poor Sang Jiu blamed herself for what happened.  It was all her fault.  Actually, she was right.  Girl, you knew Tian Hu was Mingye’s girlfriend from the start but still you went ahead and married Mingye!🤣🤣🤣🤣

I must say Chen Duling was perfect for her role. She was so delicately beautiful but her cruelty was beyond belief.

Episode 17

This episode got even more exciting.  Sang Jiu was a total badass woman.

Anyway, her grief drove her mad so she went to the heart of Mohe Village. She remembered the mistake of taking the injured Mingye and Tian Huan to this exact place.  It was all her fault.

In her torment, she screamed to the sacred lotus to give her the power to avenge the Mohe River people.  She wanted to be so powerful even if it meant turning evil by increasing her demonic energy to the max.

The Sacred Lotus let her have the power as well as the clan’s ultimate weapon of mass destruction, the Water Calming Sword,   She then marched to Shangqing Realm for revenge.

At Shangqing Tower, Tian Huan was feeling good about herself.  She likes the power as she usurped the seat from Mingye, who was still meditating. Tian Yuan elevated herself as the main god.  She had a complete change of manpower.  Sacking, imprisoning and even killing those who were never or refused to be loyal to her.

Some of the older soldiers complained that she was not worthy to be the new leader as she had not done anything.  She had only been just a groupie to Mingyue.  She had the complainers imprisoned.

Her megalomania contemplation was interrupted by someone announcing that Sang Jiu had come to apologise to Tian Huan.

Tian Huan smiled and went to see Sang Jui outside.

Sang Jui easily vanquished Tian Huan’s protector. She maniacally played with Tian Huan until they ended up by the poisoned pond.

It was there that Mingye found them as Sang Jui was just about to finish off Tian Huan.

Mingye had completed purifying the Bone Refining Seal.  He can now use it to recreate the divine essence for Sang Jui but it was too late.  She was beyond listening to him.

MIngye was able to subdue Sang Jiu and bound her in energy ropes as she slept.  She woke up and overheard the maids talking that Mingye did not execute Tian Huan.  She also heard that her brother was wickedly dropped into the Barren Abyss by Tian Huan.

Mingye at that moment had guests.  It was the clan elders of Tian Huan’s tribe.  They begged Mingye not to kill Tian Huan in return they will give him the millennium crystal which could resurrect the Mohe River people in 1000 years’ time.

Because it was for Sang Jui, he accepted the deal.  But then he was told that Sang Jui got away and was headed to the Barren Abyss.

Sang Jui met Ji Ze who told her to go back.  She can’t last inside the abyss which is populated by ferocious hungry demons.  She saw them feasting on her brother.  She began to fight.

In between fights, 😭😭 she had a full makeover.  She turned into well-coiffured, fully made-up with lashes and good brows and suited in a beautiful red and black floaty number.  A very beguiling sneer completed her ensemble as she met Mingye who had followed her.

She asked what happened to Tian Huan.  She realised that Tian Huan remained alive which ignited her hatred once more.  She said that just because Tian Huan was a goddess she had preferential treatment over lowly clam people like her.   She pointed her sword at MIngye but he walked right into it, piercing him in his chest near his heart which was vulnerable as he removed his heart scale.🤣

Ji Ze appeared and said that he can help them get out.  Back at the forest cottage, Mingye was really pale but he tended to Sang Jui.  He told her that being in the cottage with her was the happiest he had ever been.

Sang Jui was not interested especially when she asked where her brother was.  Mingye said he could not be saved but gave her the divine essence of her brother.  She went crazy and dropped the crystal.  She then learned why Mingye allowed Tian Huan to still live.  MIngye explained that her clan gave him a crystal that could resurrect the clam people.

Far from being pacified, Sang Jui said that there are things that you cannot barter with.

Meanwhile, Tian Huan was rescued by her clan and back to planning something dastardly.

12 April 2023: Apparently, the release of episodes will slow down.  It would be just 6 episodes per week.

Episode 18

Is the dream over?

Yes!

The first one to wake up was Bingchang.  She was mocked by the devil’s voice for not being the goody two shoes she appeared to be.  The voice said that she was more like Tian Huan who was jealous of Xi Wu.  She resents that XiWu was the legitimate daughter.  The voice also said that it was because Bingchang stole an extra love string that she was popular with men.  The voice tormented her with the insinuation that without the extra string, would Xiao Lin loves her?

Meanwhile, Mingye found that Sang Jui had been to Shangqing Tower and had massacred everyone including Tian Huan.

He then found Sang Jui in the middle of the dais having gathered all the immortal essence after she killed him.

Mingye stopped her with her ritual because he does not want her to fully turn into a demon.  He told her that she still has a chance to turn back.

She pointed her sword and him and he walk into it again!!!  He continued to imbed himself in her sword so he could get near her.  She finally pulled out the sword.  He hugged her and told her that it was all his fault. He was such a shitty husband, he did not protect her. He was so tortured and sad; she caught a tear from his eye.

Mingye promised to support her from now on. It was better late than never.  But then Sang Jui said that it was too late because her physical body was destroyed at the Barren Abyss.  She was still existing because of the rage she feels.  He told her that if she becomes a demon then they could be demons together.  Sang Jiu started to vanish leaving Mingye alone in his agony clutching the little pearl she gave him.

Susu materialised nearby watching Mingye fight his own demons. He made it because of the pearl she left.

They were back by the mouth of the Barren Abyss. Each one remembered the dream.

Susu recalled why she went to the Barren Abyss.  To learn how she could locate the demon bone.  She remembered JiZe telling her that she needed three things: the Dream, a Tear, and the love string.

As she already had the first two, all she needed was the string.  So she started her campaign of making Tan Tai Jin fall in love with her.  They were so cute.

Meanwhile, Bingchang was rather wary that Xiao Lin does not love her anymore as she was so evil in the dream.

But her prince told her that it was just a dream and no matter what happened he would always protect her.

Whoa, Tantai Minglan is still alive.

The thing that does not make sense was Ye Qingyu.  He was a complete stranger to Xi Wu.  When she returned he never said hello, he never checked whether she was ok, and he did not even make a murmur when Tan Tai Jin had Xi Wu arrested and her hands tied up.  Does not make sense at all.

Episode 19

Tan Tai Jin made Xi Wu an imperial maid.  Back at Jing, Qingyu told her that he has a surprise for her.

She found her Ye family had been relocated to Jing.  Her father was rather upset about it but came to terms that if they had not moved, the whole Ye, servants and their soldiers would have been massacred.

Qingyu told her that Tan Tai JIn especially came to escort their family.

This made Xi Wu so happy so she went to see Tan Tai Jin immediately.  She gave him a kiss on the cheek which made his heart crystal begin to sprout.  But then he asked her whether the kiss was for what he did to her family or because she liked him.  She immediately said that it was for her family.  Suddenly the sprout from his heart crystal withered or retracted.

He then told her to go away.

Xi Wu asked Pian Ran how to make Tantai Jin fall in love with her.  Pian Ran advised her to cook him food. The quickest way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.

Xi Wu was a bit unsure as cooking is not her strong point as Tantai Jin found out when she presented him with burnt anchovies and overcooked green beans.  He did say that he liked it but still, he told her to go away every time she turned up.

Again she went back to Pian Ran who told her to do the reverse.  She should make herself absent from his presence.

it seemed to work as Tantai Jin had began asking where she was.

Meanwhile, Tantai Minglan joined forces with King Sheng.  He gave the king use of his zombie soldiers.

Episode 20

Xi Wu’s new tactic worked.  She was greatly missed by Tan Tai Jin.  So he started showering her with gifts.

Xi Wu was happy and went to see him immediately to thank him.

Then it was her birthday which she did not really know as she is really Susu but Tan Tai Jin knew and remembered.  He asked her to see him and gifted her with a meteorite.  He said as promised he gave her a star.  Aww.  He also said that she can have a day off and celebrate with her family.

XiWu asked him to go with her.  He agreed but when they got to the Ye Mansion, he opted to stay inside the carriage while she enjoyed herself at the bosom of her family.

Her grandma said that perhaps Tantai Jin does not want to join them because they did mistreat him before.  He was always made to feel that he did not belong.

Tan Tai Jin and his army left Jing to go to Jia Pass.

XiWu missed him and wrote to him regularly.  Tantai Jin complained that Xi was over excerting his crow to deliver letters but he was secretly happy to receive them.

He then went to battle it out with the dwindling Sheng Army at Jia Pass. Despite outnumbering and overpowering them, Tantai Jin did not kill Xiao Lin, Instead he asked them to surrender and join forces.  Xiao Lin refused despite knowing that fighting was really a losing battle as most of his men had gone AWOL.  Anyway, Tan Tai Jin allowed Xiao Lin and his remaining army to retreat.

This enraged and frustrated Xiao Yi, the Sheng Emperor.  So when the demon rep of Tantai Minglan arrived, he was willing to cooperate.

Tan Tai Jin managed to get hold of the Yueyang Sect demon manual.  He had been learning their martial arts/cultivation and formation.

Meanwhile, Pian Ran was summoned by Tan Tai Jin to bring reinforcement. XiWu smuggled herself amongst the soldiers.  Pian Ran knew that she was there though.

Episode 21

Tantai Jin missed receiving letters from XiWu.  He had not gotten any letter from her for a fortnight.

She then turned up and they had such a cute reunion.

But one night, Tantai Jin left the barracks with his men without telling Xi Wu.

But then a few minutes after they had gone, she left the barracks as well and met up with Xiao Lin.  She was very concerned about Xiao Lin being hurt but then he was ok.

Xiao Lin realised that Tan Tai Jin was on his way to the Sheng palace.

Tan Tai Jin had a duel with the cruel King Xiao Yi, who realised that Tan Tai Jin had master the demon cultivation.

But he brought out his ace card.  Yue Yingxin suddenly showed up with the ashes jar of Empress Ruo, Tan Tai Jin’s mother.

Tan Tai Jin could not believe the betrayal but it got worst because the jar of of his beloved mother’s ashes fell on the ground and broke.  Before he could gather, the rain came washing away every bit of the dust which made Xiao Yi gleeful.

This was too much for Tan Tai Jin so he fatally threw the king on the ground.

Yingxin then stabbed Tan Tai Jin in the chest, again (this is now the third time he had been stabbed in the chest in not so many weeks.). Tan Tai Jin really had to learn self-preservation and stay away from swords.🤣🤣🤣

Bingchang took her chance.  She begged Tan Tai Jin to take her to Jing under his protection.  She turned out to be a really nasty character even had her maid killed to save herself.

Ill and weakened, the last thing Tan Tai Jin wanted to hear was that Xi Wu had committed treason by warning Xiao Lin of Tan Tai Jin’s moves.

Xi Wu however got to hear that Tan Tai Jin had killed Xiao Yi. She concluded that he was totally evil.

So they broke up.

Episode 22

Bingchang tried to take advantage of the situation.  She made herself to become indispensable to Tan Tai Jin who tolerated her to make Xi Wu jealous.

Xi Wu decided to leave the palace.  Tan Tai Jin told her to go but he was really sad to see her leave.  He stalked her while she was at the Jing palace.

He found the letters she did not send him while he was away.  The letters were so loving and sweet.  He then saw her throwing the meteorite he gave her into the pond.

Xi Wu learned from Qingyu what really happened at the Sheng Palace, why Tan Tai JIn killed the king and how the ashes of Empress Rou ended up deconsecrated and are now gone.

Xi Wu realised how she had misunderstood Tan Tai Jin. She run to him and reconciled.

They had an ‘Oops I did it again’ moment, “I thought the lady dropped the meteorite into the ocean(pond).”

“We’ll baby I went down and got it for you.” 🤣🤣🤣🤣

`Pian Ran had decided to leave as peace had now blanketed the Jing Empire but Qingyu asked her to stay.

Pian Ran said that she does not have any love thread; she lost it when her husband Jiang Ran died, ergo she can no longer feel love but she said that if Qingyu agrees to change his name to Jiang Ran and be like Jiang Ran, then she might be persuaded to stay.

Episode 23

XiWu and Tan Tai Jin are totally loved up.  Susu can’t help falling for Tantai Jin for real because she can see the goodness in him as he talked about uniting Jing and Sheng for the people.  They had such a lovely time escaping from the palace to celebrate Qixi Festival.  But alas, Tan Tai Jin was recognised as the Emperor so it got really hard to stay at the festival some more time.

It so happened that it was actually safer to stay out rather than stay inside the palace.  However, Tan Tai Jin was ready and waiting for the remaining pocket of Sheng Dragon guards headed by Xiao Lin to attack.

It was Bingchang’s idea how to get Xiao Lin and his men to come out in the open.  She told Tan Tai Jin that she will write to Xiao Lin.  She did add a hidden message of HELP!

Bingchang had it all under control she thought.  She reckoned that it was a win-win for her because if Tan Tai Jin arrests Xiao Lin, Tan Tai Jin would look at her with favourable eyes.  But if Xiao Lin wins then so much the better.

There was a prolonged fight.  I have to say that Deng Wei looks so handsome.  He is made for historical costume dramas 😉😉😉 Luo Yunxi is handsome as well.  Their visual is glorious.

Anyway, in the end, Xiao Lin knew that resistance is futile so he surrendered.

XiWu then turned up all concerned for Tan Tai Jin but he reassured her that he was fine.

Meanwhile, Pian Ran subdued some of Xiao Lin’s men who were escorting Bingchang out.  Bingchang immediately shouted that she was being taken against her will.

Pian Ran, however, was shocked to find that Bingchang had extra love threads.  She wanted to know where she got it.  When Bingchang refused to say anything, Pian Ran went for her but Qingyu turned up and begged Pian Ran to overlook whatever transgression Bingchang had done.  Pian Ran was going wild but the guards of Tan Tai Jin ordered Bingchang to be brought inside the palace.

Tan Tai Jin told Xiao Lin to hide behind a pillar as he interrogate Bingchang.  Xi Wu followed Xiao Lin.

They later heard Bingchang confessing what she had done to get Xiao Lin to turn up. She added that she completely supports the Jing Empire being its subject.

Episode 24

Bingchang broke Xiao Lin’s heart with what she had said. She openly admitted that as soon as she arrived at JIng, her marriage and any form of relationship with Xiao Lin was over.  He was nothing to her and she would only serve Tan Tai Jin.

Tan Tai Jin was curious why Qingyu was there

Qingyu had to explain that he had to stop Pian Ran from beating Bingchang up.  Tantai Jin got more interested in what was going on and ask Pian Ran about it.

Pian Ran said that Bingchang had an extra Love Thread; she wanted to know where Bingchang got it.

Bingchang at first would not say until Tan Tai Jin threatened her.  So she confessed that she found it when she was 16. She decided to walk home instead of traveling in the Ye carriage.  She found the dying JIang Rou in the nearby forest. He asked her to contact his fiancee/wife Pian Ran and return to her the Love Thread which was contained inside the pouch.

Bingchang agreed to do it but when she found Pian Ran, she noticed that Pian Ran was so lovely while Bingchang was almost a non-entity.  No one cared for her being only a daughter of a concubine.  So she decided not to give the pouch back to Pian Ran.  She kept it to herself. When she opened the pouch the Love thread immediately attached to her.  Not long after she became so attractive not only to the male species but to females as well. Suddenly she was being admired.

Pian Ran was so upset about not really knowing what happened to Jiang Rou.  Tan Tai Jin used his demonic power to remove the love heart from Bingchang who war writhing on the floor in pain.  Xi Wu was going to interrupt but Qingyu stopped her.

Anyway, Pian Ran had the Love Thread back.

Tan Tai JIn ordered to have Xiao Lin put to prison while Bingchang had been demoted to a prison slave/maid.

Xi Wu could not leave things alone.  She sneaked in to see Xiao Lin and promised him that she will let him escape despite him telling her that he expected and even welcomed death as soon as he got to Jing.  His passing will be the only way that there will be peace between Sheng and Jing as he is the last remaining contender to the Jing throne.

Grandma came to visit Bingchang at the palace prison.  Grandma told her that Bingchang is always going to be a member of the Ye family no matter what.

Bingchang reminded Grandma that it would be her mother’s death anniversary.  She asked Grandma if she could convince Xi Wu to ask Tan Tai JIn to give her permission to attend the memorial of her mother.  Grandma said she would certainly ask Xi Wu.

Xi Wu mentioned it to Tan Tai Jin who cheerfully agreed. But he warned Xi Wu not to let Bingchang escape.

At the Ye Mansion, Xi Wu made sweet porridge to take back for Tan Tai Jin.  While she was away for just a few moments, Bingchang sneaked in and stirred poison into the porridge.  She then took a bowlful of the porridge to give to Grandma.

Bingchang was shocked when she looked back at the kitchen and she saw Xi Wu also adding secret powder to the porridge.  Bingchang thought that Xi Wu seemed to have her own agenda.

Xi Wu put sleeping powder on the porridge so Tan Tai Jin falls asleep while she helps Xiao Lin escape from prison.

Xi Wu gave the porridge to Tan Tai Jin.  He noticed that she was behaving rather weirdly.  He did not eat the porridge immediately as he was busy with his work.  But then a couple of moths came in and went for the bowl of porridge.  The moths both died.

Tan Tai Jin looked at the rather nervous Xi Wu who pretended to be asleep.

Episode 25

I must say I deferred watching this episode because I could almost imagine what would happen and I can’t take it.  There will be a lot of sadness and I can see lovely Grandma dying.

But one has to do what one has to do🤣

Tan Tai Jin asked if Xi Wu really made the porridge, especially for him.  She said she did.  When he asked her to feed him, she was willing.  But then she fell asleep when she was propelling the spoon to his mouth. Poor Tan Tai Jin who is now obsessively in love with Xi Wu was heartbroken.

Tan Tai Jin had the porridge analysed.  It was found that it was poisoned with no known cure or antidote for it.

He intoned that Xi Wu told him that she loves him and would stay with him, instead, Xi Wu hated him so much she was going to assassinate him.

Tan Tai JIn ordered Nian Bai Yu to bring him the Ruo Water.  With a little incantation, a droplet of the Ruo Water went into Xi Wu’s face.  Now Tan Tai Jin can control her like a puppet on a string.

She was in a trance, he told her that she can now do anything she wanted.  She then looked for the tiger tally.  Tan Tai Jin wanted to know why she wanted the tiger tally, she said that she needed it to free Xiao Lin from prison.

Tan Tai JIn was crushed.  Xi Wu would kill him for Xiao Lin.

Anyway, Xi Wu was in between deep hypnosis and wakefulness.  She was functioning automatically.  Sometimes she would regain full consciousness and then back to the altered state of consciousness.

She was surprised to find that she was out of the palace with Xiao Lin who was so grateful to her.  But when he went near her, he saw her eyes turn red and then she stabbed him.  It was because Tan Tai Jin with his black magic could see into things and can make Xi Wu do anything.

Poor Grandma had died.  Bingchang made sure that the family had been made aware that Grandma was poisoned by the porridge made for her by Xi Wu.

They can’t believe that Xi Wu would do it because Xi Wu and Grandma adore each other.

Meanwhile, Xiao Lin died but he sent a letter beforehand to Tan Tai Jin with a gift of the Sheng family heirloom, the dragon scale.  The letter was very magnanimous which made Tan Tai Jin hate Xiao Lin for making him feel rather guilty.

Xi Wu learned that her grandma died, and she immediately thought that Tan Tai Jin had something to do with it. More than ever, she is determined to return to Jing and resume her mission of ending Tan Tai Jin.

Tan Tai Jin hated Xi Wu but loved her more so when she returned he hugged her.  She said she forgives him and she was hoping he forgives her too.  She added that she wants a new start with him.

Episode 26

OMG, shed a lot of tears in this episode.  I even hated Xi Wu for her meanness to Tan Tai Jin.

Xi Wu was grieving for her grandmother and became ill.  To soothe her, Tan Tai Jin said that whatever she wanted, she just had to tell him and he will do it for her.

She then whispered to him that she wanted to marry him and make her his queen.

She knew then that he loves her completely as the seven spikes in his crystal heart have all now materialised.

Tan Tai Jin was only too happy to fulfill her wish.  But Qingyu warned him that he should not marry his sister, as she is a murderer.  It would not be good for Tan Tai Jin’s reputation.

All he said to Qingyu was that Xi Wu loves him, had returned to him, and wanted to accompany him, no one had ever done that to him before.

The wedding was set on the most inauspicious day.

The red carpet was rolled down for the event.

Tan Tai JIn was giddy with excitement.

The wedding day was rather ominous as the sky darkened and then started snowing.

Then the wedding night.  Tan Tai Jin again reassured her that she will be his only beloved.  She hugged him back and secretly collected the spikes from his heart as her right eye had changed into a World Overturning Jade.

She then proceeded to throw back the first four spikes directly into his heart. This really hurt him and the process also hurt her so they had a contest about who could spit blood the most.🤣🤣🤣

She then told him everything that she had been keeping from him that her sole purpose in life was to kill him.

Poor Tan Tai Jin was absolutely gutted and asked if all the sweet loving things she showed him were all fake.

She said she hated him.

Then she tried to finish him off with the last three spikes.

But the Heart Shield Dragon Scale gifted to him by Xiao Lin flew to Tan Tai Jin’s heart to cover it from further attack.

XiWu saw the three spikes broken on the floor.  She failed, she lost the battle and ended up in the dungeon.

Tan Tai Jin was incurable.  He is terminal and would likely live not more than three years.

XiWu was doing a hunger strike at the dungeon and later begged Tan Tai Jin to just kill her.

Tan Tai Jin told her that killing her was too easy.  Now he hated her as much as she hates him.

But not as much as Bingchang hated Xi Wu.  Bingchang came to visit her in the dungeon.  Bingchang taunted her and asked why Tan Tai Jin was still alive and did not die from the poison.

Now, it clicked to Xi Wu that Tan Tai Jin thought she tried to poison him and yet he still loved her.

Xi Wu got even more tormented when Bingchang revealed that Grandma had the poisoned porridge as well.

Bingchang tried to finish her off by strangling her with a scarf.  Thankfully, Qingyu and Pein Ran turned up.

Episode 27

Despite pronouncing that he now hated Xi Wu, Tan Tai Jin kept a vigil on the comatose Xi Wu.

He was gone when she woke up but he would still secretly look in on her.

Xi Wu realised that she did misunderstand Tan Tai Jin and felt guilty.  She said to herself that she owed him in this lifetime.

Poor Tan Tai Jin was suffering from the spikes in his heart.  He was often left writhing on the floor and spitting blood.

But when he heard that Tan Tai Minglan’s puppet armies were on the move, Tan Tai Jin led his army to attack.

Qingyu with the Ye army was left to protect the city.

Meanwhile, Xi Wu remembered something from their Bo’re Life at the Barren Abyss.  Mingye had to sacrifice his divine essence to remove her devil bone.

So although really weak, Xi Wu started meditating to construct her divine essence so she could give it to Tan Tai Jin to destroy his devil bone.

Even very weak, Tan Tai Jin and his men managed to defeat the puppet soldiers.

Fu Ya, Minglang’s witch, managed to find an entry point at the Jing palace.  So they sneaked in but Pian Ran was prepared to protect the city.  Her prowess was stronger than that of Fu Ya who she managed to kill.

Minglang was so upset that he tried to shoot Pian Ran with his Dragon Arrow but Qingyu saw the trajectory and jumped on it to protect Pian Ran.

Pian Ran was gutted as Qingyu lay dying in her arms.  But she said she was never going to be left again.  Instead, she will go with Qingyu.

Episode 28

I cried buckets in this episode.  Really tearful.  I pity Tan Tai Jin so much.

Anyway, General Ye came out of retirement to fight the puppet army.  Even Zeye, his dithering firstborn son joined him in the fight.

But it was a losing battle because Tan Tai Minglang splashed Ruo Water on the ordinary citizens of Jing and controlled them to fight for his side.

Pian Ran is dead after transferring her energy to Qingyu to keep him alive.

When Tan Tai Jin finally returned to the city, he saw the street strewn with dead bodies, including that of General Ye and Zeye.  At the palace gate, Minglang had Bingchang and Xi Wu as prisoners.

Minglang asked Tan Tai Jin who he would like to save. Bingchang begged Tan Tai Jin piteously to choose her but Tan Tai Jin noticed that Xi Wu did not look at him, not even once.

Having remembered the power of the bracelets given to him by Peng Yi Zi in exchange for Tan Tai Jin’s blood from his heart, he knew that as long as he and Xi Wu were wearing their couple bracelets Xi Wu would not die.

So Tan Tai Jin chose Bingchang.

Minglang pushed Bingchang aside and was about to slash Xi Wu’s neck when a murder of crows pecked on him until he was dead.

The sky warned of the coming thunder and lightning; Xi Wu realised that it was time.  She had completed cultivating her divine essence.  So she flew to the sky.

Tan Tai Jin realised that she was leaving him so he flew after her.  The thunder and lightning were about to strike Xi Wu but Tan Tai Jin covered her with his body and got the full force of the elements.

Xi Wu told him to go but he would not leave her.  He said they are connected and he won’t allow her to leave him.😭😭😭. Tan Tai Jin looked so much like a lost soul; without her he was nothing.

Xi Wu finally told him that she never liked him, how could she when he was her mission to kill because he will turn into the demon lord who will destroy the three realms?  She then showed him a video recording🤣 of the last minutes of her own immortal family as he as a demon lord, killed one by one.

Xi Wu explained that she was an immortal send to go back in time to kill Tan Tai Jin before he turned into the demon lord.

Xi Wu told him that she will not kill him but will take out his demon bone which she will replace with her divine essence.

Tan Tai Jin refused the swap because he knew it will end Xi Wu’s life.  But Xi Wu/Susu was determined so with all her might she extracted the demon bone and gave him her divine essence.  She was then struck by lightning which broke her couple’s bracelet as she fell to earth.

Tan Tai Jin was inconsolable.  He cannot believe that his Xi Wu was gone.  He begged her dead body to wake up😭😭😭

His soldiers were heartbroken for him.  He would not allow anyone to carry Xi Wu so he struggled on with Xi Wu’s body firmly clasped in his arms as he climbed the snowy perron leading to the palace.

Later on, Tan Tai Jin collapsed but when he woke, he asked for Xi Wu immediately.  He was told that she was in the mourning room.

Tan Tai Jin looked like he had completely lost his mind.  He was in denial about Xi Wu’s death.  He plucked her out of her coffin and asked her to wake up. He started staying in the mourning room to be with Xi Wu’s body.

Qingyu finally woke and can stand on his feet.  He found out that Tan Tai Jin was never the same again and had taken to staying in the mourning room.

Nian Bai Yu asked him to speak to Tan Tai Jin as Qingyu is really the only family Tan Tai Jin has.  Bingchang had disappeared.

Qingyu and Nian Bai Yu went to the locked mourning room.  Qingyu seemed to have inherited Pian Ran’s power because he used his cultivation to force open the door.  There Qingyu and Nian Bai Yu were shocked to find that Tan Tai Jin had used Rou Water to make a casket for him and Xi Wu.  Inside the water glass casket, Tan Tai Jin laid himself to rest beside Xi Wu.

Nian Bai Yu told Qingyu that they need to get Tan Tai Jin out, otherwise, he will suffocate and freeze to death.

Tan Tai Jin was very unhappy with what they had done and had a fight with  Qingyu.  Qingyu told him that Xi Wu is his dead sister.  Tan Tai Jin not being willing to let her go would mean Xi Wu can’t crossover to the afterlife.

Sad!  Cried so much for Tan Tai Jin.

Episode 29

Bingchang had been found.  Qingyu interrogated her.  Knowing that she was not going to get away, she finally admitted everything she did.  Poisoning Tan Tai Jin and their Grandma.

Tan Tai Jin overheard Bingchang.  He blamed her for everything that had happened.

He would have not thought that Xi Wu was trying to poison him if the porridge was not really toxic. He would have not speculated that Xi Wu was trying to kill him for Xiao Lin.  Then he would not have controlled Xi Wu to kill Xiao Lin, Xi Wu would still be alive, and so was Xiao Li.  It would have been a whole new ball game.

Tan Tai Jin ordered to feed Bingchang lots of porridge since she was partial to it.

Bingchang was given a bowl of poisoned porridge.  At first, she refused to eat the porridge but Pang Yi Zhi who was able to smuggle himself into the dungeon gave Bingchang a letter from Xiao Lin.

It was a loving letter, exonerating her of everything she did wrong with him.  He confessed that he fell in love with her at first sight when she was just sixteen while she was gamboling in the forest like a fairy.  He said his love for her was not because of her extra love thread, it was because she was so lovely in herself.

Bingchang was so overcome with sadness, she ate the porridge and died soon after.

Pang Yi Zhi was able to collect a teardrop from her.  So his potion had the blood of the enemy and the tear from a lover to bring back Xiao Lin to life.

Tan Tai Jin continued to mourn Xi Wu until he cannot take the pain of separation anymore.  He laid down beside them and then he started a fire around them.

Qingyu had given up and told Nian Bai Yu to leave well things alone now.  Just let Tan Tai Jin go with Xi Wu to the afterlife.

Nian Bai Yu was a loyal servant.  He plucked a struggling Tan Tai Jin next to Xi Wu. Nian Bai Yu quickly told him that there is a way to bring Xi Wu back to life.

They can find her at the Ruo River also known as the Nether River.  They had just to find Xi Yu’s life crystal.

Tan Tai Jin did not waste time.  He was at the Nether River quick as a flash.  He then started searching every inch of the toxic Nether River.  For hundreds of years, he searched, not giving up even once.  He became known as the crazy and hopeless romantic, rather pathetic man.  Still, he searched.

The kingdom was continued to be ruled by Tan Tai heirs who wear masks almost 24/7.  It looks like the new king was Qingyu in disguise.

Meanwhile, a couple of demons had woken up and busy creating havoc once more.

Susu woke up from her cultivation.

Episode 30

500 Years later… and 10,000 years since the death of the demon lord.

Because of the divine essence given to him by Susu/Xi Wu, Tai Tan Jin was able to survive the toxic Nether/Ruo River.

The demons in all four continents are on a rampage. They are busy searching for the demon fetus so they could rejuvenate the Barren Abyss.

It was the Yiyue sect who lost the demon fetus’.  To find the fetus they had to use the demonic artifacts as a guide. The demons are very optimistic about finding the fetus, it is just a matter of time.

The immortals reported to Xuanzi about the unusual happening at heaven lake.  It had been thundering nonstop for hours.

Susu was waking up from her meditation, however, she had not forgotten her time with Tantai Jin.  She was happy to be back with her people, with her father and Ji Wu but she realised that she came back in a timeline with a different narrative.  She was under a ten-year- punishment rather than sent on a mission in the past.  She was perturbed that time and narrative changed.

Episode 31

I must say the immortals’ Zhou Yu of Xiaoyao Sect and Qu Xuan Zi of Henyang Sect are a sight to behold in their long white flowing locks of hair.  They do look majestic.

Zhou Yu introduced Jiu MIn as his new disciple to Qu Xuan Zi.  Jiu Min mentioned that he met another disciple who looked so much like someone he used to know.  The guy was Ji Wu.

Qu Xuan Zi said that Ji Wu was not quite human/mortal.  He was created by Lord Buxu.

Jiu Min already know that Lord Buxu was Pang Yi Zhi.

At the first chance, Jiu Min called out to Lord Buxu and asked him how to bring the dead back to life.  Lord Buxu/Pang Yi Zhi was forced to tell Jiu Min the process because Jiu Min said he will find out on his on.

Anyway, Lord Buxu said the ingredients are blood from a mortal enemy, a tear from a loved one and the Soul Gathering Array.

Lord Buxu told Jiu Min that his reason to bring someone back to life was not good enough.  Jiu MIn/Tant Tai JIn was just too obsessive.

Anyway, later on in a conversation, Zhou Yu and Qu Xuan Zi already knew who Jiu MIn really is.

Jiu Min was really curious about resurrection and had a bonding with Ji Wu.

JiWu mentioned that it was so familiar to speak with Jiu Min.  He felt that he had known him for a whole lifetime.  Jiu Min half smirked and said that he felt the same.

Afterwards, Jiu MIn went to the library to do his research.  He found the Book of Demonology where he read about the power of the Sky Slashing Sword which is apparently the Devil god’s had.  The Bone refining Seal is the heart, the Slaughtering Crossbow is the one that finds and guides the devil fetus.

Tan Tai JIn suddenly realised that the slaughtering crossbow was the one that saved him from near death at the Nether River.

Reading further on, he found out why Pang Yi Zhi was so reluctant to tell him about the Soul Gathering Spell, It was because it is a forbidden demonic spell.

Anyway, this episode got so frustrating because Tan Tai Jin and Susu got so near to each other but yet they kept missing each other.

Anyway, the immortals decided to hold a monster gathering contest for two reasons.  First to rid the realm of monsters and second to trap the two major demons, Si Ying and Jingmie.

All the immortals gathered for the contest.

Sprite Yueyao pretended that she was Susu.  The spoilt son of Chief Cen Hao Ran was sexually harassing the goddess Susu who was really Sprite Yueyao

Jiu Min saved her.  Later on he asked if he could have a drop of her blood he needed to bring back his wife to life.

Yueyao was forced to confess that she was not the Dirtless Goddess Susu.  She then told Jiu MIn where Susu was.

Yes, they finally met… again.

Episode 32

They did recognise one another but Susu continued to deny that she was Xi Wu.

This episode is visually stunning. The fighting scenes between Jiu Min and Si Ying is remarkable. I commend the CGI.

Anyway as the story goes, Si Ying and Jing Mei got to Shengqing Sect to find the Bone Refining Seal which would lead them to the Devil Fetus.

Tan Tai Jin remembered his life as a Mingye and how he sealed the Bone Refining Seal.  He saw the unusual energy emanating from the water mirror and sure enough, he found Si Ying trying to extract the Bone Refining Seal.

Si Ying was actually rather successful but the seal flew into Tan Tai Jin’s chest.  Si Ying realised that Cang Jiu Min is her master, the devil lord.  As such, Si Ying left Jiu Min to fight his own demon while she went to rescue Jing Mie from the immortal masters.

Jiu Min fought hard from being taken over by the bone-refining seal which will make him a fully-fledged working demon.🤣

Susu turned up and encouraged him to fight it.  Finally, the seal came out of Jiu Min’s chest. He fell to the ground and into the ministering arms of Susu, who still denied that she was XiWu.

Tan Tai Jin could not help saying that Xi Wu was true to her word that she was never going to meet him again in this lifetime and the next.

Despite, dumping Tan Tai Jin, Susu had a talk with Ji Wu later.  Telling him that in another lifetime, she was in a relationship with Jiu Min and as such she cannot continue to lead Ji Wu on because she can never have a relationship as she decided to be a bachelorette all her life and concentrate only to ensure that the Demon lord does not annihilate the three realms and four continents.

Some relevations came out from this episode.

The extraction of the Bone Refining Seal, released Di Mian from his encarceration at the Barren Abyss.

He immediately went to Henyang and was warmly welcomed by Qu Xuan Zi.

Qu Xuan Zi later announced to Susu that Di Mian is her biological father and her mother was Chu Huang from the Peacock Sect.

Di Mian helped Qu Xuan Zi escaped from the Barren Abyss but asked him that he locates Chu Huang’s egg and watch it hatch.

The egg was Susu.

Now another revelation, Bingchang is Mo Nv, the demoness sister of Si Ying.

Episode 33

Cang Jui Min/Tan Tai Jin knew that the only real reason that Ye Xi Wu refused to get together with him was because of his being the destined Devil Lord.  So he went to the Barren Abyss to ask Si Ying and Jing Mie more about the devil lord and find out his weakness.

He pretended to be the Devil Lord reincarnated and asked Si Ying about the devil lord’s weakness.  He found out that the devil lord can only be vanquished if his devil bone is destroyed.

Si Ying added that she knew that he is not the devil lord but the devil fetus.  As a devil fetus, he was just nothing of real significant importance.

Anyway, Nian Bai Yu went to Henyang Sect to beg Tan Tai Jin/Cang Jiumin to take him in as he was always going to be his master to protect.

Cang Jiu Min told him that in this realm, he is no longer Nian Bai Yu’s master.  Jiumin then asked the masters if Nian Bai Yu from the demon sect could stay.  Jiumin gave a very excellent reference for Nian Bai Yu so the master said it looks like Nian Bai Yu is a repentant soul so he could stay.

But then Nian Bai Yu really still reports everything to Si Ying.

Susu found her Di Mian having a duel with Jiumin who recognised as the devil lord.  Susu told her father that Jiumin is not the devil lord but it is a long story.

After this yet stress, Susu decided to take a holiday to chill.  So she travelled to Jing.

Her holiday is anything but relaxing.  Jing had been taken over by demons.  When it gets dark the demons and monsters rule.

Then she also realised that Tan Tai Jin had followed her to Jing and then there was also Ji Wu.  At the outskirts, was Mo Nv watching.

Susu, Jiumin and Ji Wu heard of a monster that had been killing people by going into their dreams.

The monster was Ye Mei who got into a drunk Susu’mind but of course, Tan Tai Jin was there to protect her.  But Ye Mei learned that Susu is the devil fetus’s ultimate weakness.

At the end of the episode, there is a scene of humanising Jing Mie.  He was holding a couple of cute dolls which he giddily told Si Ying reminded him of Si Ying and him.🤣🤣🤣

Episode 34

I must say the editing is a bit off, so this is a bit confusing.

Mo Nv saved Ji Wu had tended to his wound.  She seduced him and he was seduced and spent a passionate night with her.

Meanwhile, Jiu Min and Susu attended the water festival but got separated when the devil king parade started.

Jiu Min realised that he was transported and being played by Si Ying and Jing Mie.

It so happened that Cen Mi, the son of the master, Cen Hao Ran was in Jing.  Cen Mi decided to teach Cang Jiu MIn a lesson and would have beaten him up but Si Jing stabbed him from the back while Jiu Min was trying to prevent it.

The next scene was that he was back at Xiaoyue Sect and tethered between rocks.

Cen Mi deemed that Jiu MIn was guilty but Masters Zhouyu and Qu Xuan Zi was complaining that there should be a due process of law with full investigation.

But then Di Mian turned up and said that JIu MIn is the demon fetus and must be vanquished before he becomes the demon lord.

Episode 35

Jiumin knew that Susu had the demon bone within her.  He told her not to tell anyone because it will put her in danger.

But then, the two masters knew that Susu has the demon bone.

This episode is about the lovey-dovey time between Susu and Jiumin.  They were so happy together.

Ji Wu felt sad the Susu seemed happy with someone else so he went back to Mo Nv for some sex and loving.

It is definitely the calm before the storm.

Episode 36

This is the storm…

Di Mian also found out that Susu had the demon bone.  Dimian is a devil incarnate, he had not changed at all but pretended that he had.

He offered his experience and prowess to remove the demon bone from Susu so she could lead a peaceful life because he knew that despite having a dirtless spirit, the demon bone could end up degenerating it.

Master Zhouyou was rather wary of Dimian but Master Qu Xuan Zi was more trusting.  He trusted Dimian implicitly, after all, he was Susu’s biological father.

They prepared the ritual and went to the dais where Susu stood to have the demon bone extracted from her body.

Dimian and Qu Xuan Zi worked together using their combined energy.  They did manage to remove the demon bone but Susu looked compromised as demonic spirit started to come out from her chest.

Qu Xuan Zi was so worried but Dimian stabbed him.

With his last bit of energy, Qu Xuan Zi protected the collapsed Susu from Dimian.  He stabbed Dimian with his spirit sword.

Poor Qu Xuan Zi died on the spot watching over the unconscious Susu.

Nian Bai Yu drugged Cang JiuMin.  He then took Cang Jiu Min to the Barren Abyss and surrendered him to Si Ying.

Nian Bai Yu asked Si Ying to make sure she does not go back to her promise about the Youyue Sect.

Cang Jiu Min woke up and realised what had happened.  He could not believe that his most trusted guard and friend betrayed him.

Nian Bai Yu said that Jiu MIn becoming the demon lord would ensure their Youyue Sect would not perish.

The spectre of the demon lord appeared before Cang Jiu MIn.  The demon lord said to Cang Jiu Min that his resistance is futile as it was predestined that he will become the demon lord.  He is the demon fetus.

Cang Jiu MIn disagreed.  He makes his on destiny.

Anyway, Cang Jiu Min cannot leave the Barren Abyss easily as he was bound and guarded by a seductive Si Ying.

Back at Henyang Sect, the badly hurt Dimian put the blame on Cang Jiu Min.  He said that he attacked him and killed Qu Xuan Zi.

The disciples did not believe at first but since Cang Jiu MIn was gone and seemed to have run away, they began to doubt him.

Susu finally woke from her coma.  She said that she knew Cang Jiu Min and attest that he did not do what he was being blamed for.,

Episode 37

Chief Cen volunteered to apprehend the fugitive Cang Jiu Min.  Siying used this information to manipulate Cang Jiu Min, telling him that he was no longer liked nor welcomed at Henyang.

Cang Jiu MIn though was no dummy, he realised immediately that it was all Si Ying’s machination.

Episode 38

Mo Nv was on revenge mode trying to avenge her sister Siying’s death at the hands of Dimian who was possessed by the demon lord through the devil bone.

Dimian was now too powerful and would have killed Mo Nv but Master Zhouyou finally found his way around the Barren Abyss and stopped Dimian.

The All-Distress Way that Dimian opened using the devil bone powered the Barren Abyss and kickstarted the destruction of the three realms.

Susu confronted Dimian.  Dimian told her that he was now the demon lord and wanted her to join him being her father.

Susu told him that he was not her father.  She only had one father and he had died, killed by Dimian.

Susu and Dimian fought.  Susu would have been killed but the sword stopped before it can stab her.  She then saw Tan Tai Jin.

She was really happy to see him.  He managed to kill Dimian who was so surprised at the power of Tan Tai Jin.

Tan Tai Jin then took the demon bone which went into his chest.  Susu was screaming for Tan Tai Jin to stop but it was too late.

Tan Tai Jin went to her and knelt down in front of her.  He then removed the spikes from his heart. He crushed them into dust and told Susu that their relationship is like the spike, all gone.

In the middle of his monologue, Susu disappeared because Ji Wu used a divine magic power to teleport her.

Susu was then told by Ji Wu that he saw Tan Tai Jin kill Master Zhouyou.

This was true but Master Zhouyou actually begged Tan Tai Jin to kill him because he was infected by evil virus from the All-Distress-Way.  He said that if Tan Tai Jin does not kill him, he will turn into a demon which is the last thing Master Zhouyou wanted to happen to himself.

Tan Tai Jin had trouble carrying out the request because, after Susu, Master Zhouyou is the person he respects and cares the most.

Before his death, Master Zhouyou, more or less, told Tan Tai Jin that he could turn into the demon lord because he is the only one who has the power to shut down the All-Distress-Way.

Tan Tai Jin was lonely at the Barren Abyss but he was resigned to his fate.  He was prepared to die at the same time as killing the demon lord.

Mo Nv pledge her loyalty to Tan Tai Jin who told her that he needed the three demon artifacts.  But he told her that she was free to do whatever she wants.  There is a big world out there.  Mo Nv however was grateful that Si Ying was avenged after Dimian die so to show her gratitude to Tan Tai Jin, she killed Chief Cen and snatched the demon crossbow and sent it flying to Tan Tai Jin.

Now all that is missing is the Bone Refining Seal which was under a formation at Henyang.   So with his supreme power, he does not even have to leave his throne, he sent his mega energy to pluck the Bone Refining ‘Seal from it guardian formation.

Now everything was ready for him.

Susu was missing Tan Tai Jin badly and despite the heinous events that occured, she still refused to believe that Tan Tai Jin had really gone rogue without a real reason.  So she decided to return to the Barren Abyss.

She was stopped along the way by Ji Wu but she told him that she needed to find out because living in the dark is as better as being dead.

He allowed her to go but he said she was no longer her sect sister and not welcome at Henyang.

Episode 39

As much as he misses her, Tan Tai Jin was very concerned when Susu flew in the middle of his rousing meeting with his evil soldiers.🤣

Tan Tai Jin set the initiating forces that would lead to his death as a sacrifice so Susu could live a better happy life.

Despite this, he did have a night of passion with Susu and then he embedded the moment in a pearl so she could look and remember when she misses him the most.😭😭😭😭😭

Episode 40 – The Finale

It is the wedding of Susu, the Lady of Spirituality, to the demon lord.  They toasted the sin of the world as well as all the deaths.  The last drop was for them to be together forever.  Romance is not dead. 💀 ☠️

Demon lord told Susu that she will be his cage bird forever.  He then had a demon palace makeover.  He told her that the sins in the world are what are keeping the demons and him alive.  Before long the All-Distress Way will swallow the three realms and four continents.  The demon lord will reign upon them all.

Susu said not so fast as she uses the Incarnation-Abandoning Array, trapping the demon lord with her.

The demon lord rather sadly said that Susu would rather die than be his wife.  Susu said that she was actually planning to kill them both.

The sects led by Ji Wu were waiting to attack. They initiated the Celestial Punishment Array which shocked Tan Tai Jin because the immortals were prepared to kill him with Susu.

Susu said that she was ready for the sacrifice. Since she was ready to die, Tan Tai Jin told her to take the punishment herself and pushed her into the middle of the Celestial Punishment Array where she had to grievously suffer 81 thunderbolts of lightning, very very frightening.🤣🤣🤣

Tan Tai Jin wanted Susu really to hate him so their parting will be less tragic for her.

JiWu flew up and went evil. He sucked the power of the other disciples from below.  Tan Tai Jin went to him to stop him.  He told Ji Wu that he does not want him to turn evil.  He told him that it was the wrong way to go.  He used his power to divest JiWu of the power which was making him evil.  To Tan Tai Jin, JI Wu would always be the Xiao Lin who befriended him.

JiWu understood and collapsed into Tan Tai Jin, who sent him back down.  Ji Wu was supported by Mo Nv in his descent.

Tan Tai Jin sacrificed himself for mankind and for Susu’s peace of mind.  He knew that only his death will seal the All-Distress Array. This will ensure the safety of the three realms and four continents.

He mouthed a sad goodbye to Susu and then he flew into the All Distress Array.  He plucked his own demon bone from his chest and crumbled it into dust.

Meanwhile, the excruciating pain from the thunderbolts sent Susu to the mysterious Heartless Way where she met the deities including her dead mother.  Through them, Susu realised that Tan Tai Jin was never been under the control of the demon lord.

Susu hurried back to Tan Tai Jin.  She knew it was too late but they both loved one another and hoped to meet again in another lifetime. Tan Tai Jin put his Heart Guarding Scale on Susu.  After some tender kisses and hugs, he told her to go.

She was leaving but turned back and told him that she had so much still to say.  He told her to tell him in their next lifetime as she was still hesitating.

500 years later…

Susu was sitting by the Mohe River with her daughter Ai Mi.  She told her about the god of war, Mingye.

A Mi wanted to know if Mingye is as brave as her father.

Susu said he is…

After 500 years they met again.  Susu was moaning that she had waited for far too long.  Tan Tai Jin said that he was back and will not leave again.

Susu asked for reassurance that Tan Tai Jin will not lie to her again.  He confirmed that he will be always true to her.

Susu mentioned to him that they have a daughter, A Mi.
