Quick Precis:

A young woman who had just graduated and find adjusting to the workforce rather daunting. She met a childhood friend but found him unrecognizably changed.

Episode 1

Love is sweet?  Don’t know yet.

What I can say is that the sweetness comes from numerous eye-candy in these first two episodes.  Wow!!!  A total candy bar.   There is Luo Yunxi, Kido Gao, Riley Wang, and of course the perennially gorgeous Melvin Sia. An absolute treat this drama.  Yummy

And I have to say that Bailu is so pretty in here; really idol-feminine.

Anyway, Jiang Jun was applying for a position at an investment company called MH.  Working for MH had become her raison d’etre.

It was not easy to get a place at MH because it is well subscribed, with ten of thousands of applicants.

During the interview which is frenetic, Jiang Jun did well enough and was told that she will progress to the next interview.  The rather scary manager warned them that if they found her manner of interviewing difficult then the next level will be even more so.

She had the interview and was surprised to see a familiar face.

Yuan Shuai, the General Manager was her childhood ‘sweetheart’ who lived across the road from her house.  He was two years older than her and they used to go to the same school.

She remembered why she hated him so much.

When they were in elementary school, she got a shock when he told her that there was an insect crawling on her shoulder.  She was traumatised which made her cry and fall on a dead faint on the ground.

She ended up in the hospital and was diagnosed to suffer from tear allergy.

Crying could cause anaphylactic shock which if not seen to immediately could lead to death.

Her father asked Yuan Shuai to look after at school.  He then gave the young boy 10RMB.

Even at a young age, Yuan Shuai was already a very enterprising boy and made a deal with Jiangjun’s father that it would cost 10RMB per month for such a task.

He promised Jiangjun’s father that he would make it worth his money.

So Yuan Shuai would hire other boys to bully her to almost the point of crying. She was so timid she could not do anything about it until the last straw when she entered a school speech competition.  She was stymied from proceeding with her speech on the stage because she misplaced her speech note.

The audience humiliated her and she was so embarrassed she teared up and collapse on the ground.

A worried Yuan Shuai tried to wake her up telling her that he has got her notes.

When she got better she transferred to another school and hoped never to see him again and yet here he was.

She did well during the interview but Yuan Shuai told her immediately that she will not be hired.

Yuan Shuai cheekily requested connection via Wechat where he was going to tell her that he found her another job, more productive with more salary.  It would be more suited for her.  When he tried to send her his message, he was put out to know that she had already unfriended him.

Jiangjun had set her heart into working at MH.

It so happens that her best friend, Xu Li knew of an artist who has a cousin who knew of a brother of a friend of the one who was organising the BUI Investment Banks Alliance Cocktail Party where Lin Tai Mo, the VP of MH will be attending.  In seven degrees of separation kind of thing, Xu Li said that she could get an invitation for Jiangjun to the party where she can meet Lin Tai Mo.

Jiangjun looked lovely in her staples cocktail dress and Du Lei, Yuan Shuai’s investment banker frenemy noticed her at once.

Jiangjun did not see Lin Tai Mo, instead Yuan Shuai was there.

Xu Li bent of getting revenge for Yuan Shuai threw a glass of white wine on Yuan Shuai and told everyone that she was pregnant with his baby but he doesn’t want to do anything with her anymore.  He just cast her aside.

Jiangjun could not help but giggle at her friend’s drama.

Yuan Shuai, however, got it covered when he asked her where he lives and his date of birth.

Xu Li could not answer.

Yuan Shuai then said that she was not his girlfriend but his real girlfriend was in the party while looking directly at Jiangjun.

Jiangjun got so embarrassed she ran away.  He went after her.  After a brief nostalgic moment, Jiangjun was leaving when her heel got caught in something and would have fallen on a flight of steps if Yuan Shuai did not catch her.

But as always in a romance drama where the hero catches the girl, they always end up accidentally touching lips and this drama is no different.

They were photographed kissing.  This was just too much for Jiangjun; she started hyperventilating.

Episode 2

Yuan Shuai brought her to the hospital.  He became obsessed with her.

Though he does not want her to work at MH as he thinks the investment is too much of a cutthroat business for her, all the same he wanted her where he can see her all the time.

So he started plotting for her to move to the next flat next to his apartment.

He went to speak to her landlady to do a deal and kick Jiangjun from her current apartment.  He then made the next flat to his available at a very low rent, with good amenities, which is ideally situated within the business community.

Jiangjun did not know at first that he will be her neighbour.

Back in high school, Jiangjun adopted a dog.  It seems Shuai ended up taking care of the dog they called Wealth.

Shuai was really excited to have Jiangjun nextdoor.  He can’t wait for her to move in.

But Jiangjun had a more pressing business.  She learned from Xi Lu that Lin Tao Mo will be in a library which is by appointment only.

Having no appointment, it seems meeting LIn Tao Mo will be another miss. Thank goodness the gorgeous Du Lei gave her one of his tickets.

Du Lei was all kindness to her.

Finally, she came face to face with Lin Tao Mo (Melvin Sia is just gorgeous).

She got a job at MH.

Xi Lu could not take the sexual harassment that goes on at work so she humiliated the manager, then she chucked in her job.

She was in a coffee shop having decided to go in another direction as far as business/career is concerned. She was going to be a writer.

For inspiration, she thought her perfect hero will have big eyes, dimples, and with floppy hair and in walked the very man looking like her hero.

He was Li Xiao Chuan.

Episode 3

Jiang Jun is now working at MH.

Yuan Shuai was not making it easy for her and tasked her a job which was very difficult.

She was in their client’s HR filing room when Yuan Shuai appeared and then the light got turned off.

Jiang Jun realised that her period had just come.

Her discomfort was noticed by Yuan Shuai and instinctively knew wat was happening.  Love is sweet.

Episode 4

Yuan Shuai gave her a lift back home but while she slept in the car, he stop at a mini-mart where he bought various types and brands of sanitary napkins. Love is sweet.

It happens that Xi Lu was now working at the mini-mart.  She noticed the purchases when Jiang Jun got home with them.

Episode 5

Du Lei is Jiang Jun’s teacher.

But it was Yuan Shuai who saved her from being sacked form MH.  He was able to convince the more authentic witness to provide evidence against President Deng.

Episode 6

Yuan Shuai pretended to be ill so Jiang Jun would spend the day looking after him.  They ended up reading a rather racy novel called Norwegian Wood which made them both hot under the collar.

Yuan Shuai also found out that Jiang Jun’s new mentor/teacher was no other than his nemesis, Du Lei, the CEO of GE.

Episode 7

Whoa, what is going on with Du Lei and his sister?  How can she sexually harrassed Du Lei who was so gorgeous when he was trying on the tie gifted to him by Jiang Jun.

Poor Du Lei was so uncomfortable with his sister’s ministering.

Meanwhile, MH’s new investment project is an establishment that trains idols.

Immediately, Jiang Jun found herself in the midst of a scandal involving the president of Wan Xing was messing with a trainee who was getting bullied for it.

Yuan Shuai continues to flirt with Jiang Jun who was flirting back.

Episode 8

Phew!!! it looks likes Du Lei and his sister are not really blood siblings.  The sister though was predatory and playing on Du Lei’s mindset.

Talking of predatory female, Xu Li is one as well.

She was determined to get the college boy Xiao Chuan to go out with her.

Jiang Jun does not want to be the target of Qiao Na at work so she tried to stay away as far as possible from Yuan Shuai.

But the more she distances herself, the more Yuan Shuai seemed to want to be with her.  He even asked her why she was hiding herself from him?  Was it because she has a crush on him and thought that she was not worthy of him? Love is sweet.

Jiang Jun said that he was delusional.

The other girl in her intern group of four took a photo of Jiang Jun talking to Du Lei in the library.

Du Lei being the CEO of the rival firm GE was a big thing. And their photo together immediately was sent to Yuan Shuai.

Again Yuan Shuai warned her to stay away from Du Lei because if the photo had been sent to MH President then it would have been difficult for her.

Jiang Jun started investigating the case of Tang Qing, the trainee, against Wan Shan, CEO of Wan Xing.

Tang Qing recounted to Jiang Jun that she was eliminated from a contest but Wan Shan had a talk with her about helping her out to become the most popular idol within three years.

She unknowingly drank a cup of water which she did not know was drugged by Wan Shan.

When she woke up, she was in bed with Wan Shan in a secret room in his office.

She tried to distance herself from him and she has evidence of his harassing her to become his girlfriend afterwards.

Jiang Jun’s meeting with Tang Qing was recorded by someone. Jiang Jun was on her way home when she felt that someone was stalking her.  She then walked in in front of Du Lei who gave her a lift home.

Du Lei told her to stay away from Wan Shan.

Wan Shan called her for a meeting the next day and gave her a wad of money to shut her up.  Jiang Jun was able to record this meeting which Wan Shan had an inkling of.

Wan Shan ordered someone to destroy Jiang Jun’s phone and to rough her up a bit.

Jiang Jun was on her way home when somebody told her to give him her phone.

Episode 9

Jiang Jun was mugged.  Her YSL bag was taken but not her phone which smashed on the ground.

Despite this,  Jiang Jun continued on to investigate.

Du Lei warned Wan Shan not do do anything like that again.

Yuan Shuai was looking into Wan Xing and thinking of removing Wan Shan as President in favour of Luo Shin.

Anyway for the cutie bit, Jiang Jun had been so busy she forgot to sort our her water bill so she went knocking at Yuan Shuai to use his shower.

They made up after Jiang Jun promised that she would listen to everything he said from then on.

She teased him when she heard him call his dog Wealth as well.  So it was a different dog.  He really dotes on Jiang Jun which she has not realised fully.

Episode 10

Jiang Jun is in trouble.  Tang Xing back down from her complaint of sexual harassment against Wan Shan when she received a very incriminating photo of herself.

The audio from her phone was recovered by an expert who happens to be Xiao Chuan.

Seriously the love story between Xiao Chuan and Xi Lu is so disturbing that I tend to fast forward them together.

Anyway, Tang Xing decided to think of her career rather than what is morally right when she was offered a very tempting deal by Du Lei for Ge.

Episode 11

This is a filler episode.  Nothing much happened except Xi Lu using Jiang Jun to arrange a movie date for her with Xiao Chuan.

Du Lei had a motocross rally with Yuan Shuai.

Yuan Shuai said for Du Lei to stay away from Jiang Jun.

Du Lei said that he will give way on many things but not in this one.

Jiang Jun was promoted to being a permanent employee at MH.

She was not really happy about it; she feels as if Yuan Shuai was controlling her after she found out that he was her landlord after he made a deal with her former landlady to make her homeless.

In her fury, Jiang Jun moved out of flat 702.

Episode 12

Manager Ma asked Jiang Jun to join an exclusive dinner for employees only.  When she got there she was asked to drink to everyone until she was so drunk.

Du Lei who had resigned from GE had become her close friend.  He called when she was so desperately drunk and promised to get her but Yuan Shuai got there first.

And then had some tender moments.

Episode 13

This episode really was just about Jiang Jun trying to get the confidence to ask Yuan Shuai if she can rent back her old apartment that he owns.

Episode 14

Xiao Chuan was finished with his dating apps and asked Yuan Shuai to look at it and invest.

Yuan Shuai gave him an honest opinion, it was too honest that poor Chuan was crushed which made annoying XuLi annoyed.

Jiang Jun understood what Yuan Shuai was getting at but she told him that he was way out of order being so brutal with his review.

Xu Li asked Jiang Jun if she could asked Du Lei to have a look at the apps as well.

Jiang Jun contacted Du Lei who was only to happy to oblige.

He signed in to the apps the same time as Yuan Shuai was doing so.  Their reviews were a mirror image of each other.

But Du Lei was more tactful when he met Chuan.  The dating apps rely on logarithm but somehow Du Lei feels that there was something missing.

He promised Chuan that when he’s found out the missing point of the apps, Du Lei is willing to invest.

Chuan was feeling more optimistic.

Xu Li bought a box of surprises that she gave to Chuan to have a look at.

This gave Chuan inspiration for the missing element of his dating apps.  He realised that logarithm is not enough, there should be a factor that is left to fate.

Meanwhile,

Jiang Jun also signed into the apps as Juno and she had the perfect match in Zeus, which happened to be Yuan Shuan’s pseudonym.

Episode 15

Yuan Shuai told JIang Jun the password to his digital door lock of his apartment.  It was the day when they had met up again.

Jiang Jun was all giddy and Yuan Shuai was smiling sexily as he walked away.

But the smile was absent the next morning when he noticed that Jiang Jun had taken a day off.

He later found out that she went camping in the mountains with Du Lei, Xu Li, and Chuan, who was treating them to a picnic for having helped him with his apps.

Du Lei is such a gorgeous and versatile man, taking command of the barbecue as Chuan as absolutely hopeless, that Xu Li was half in love with him.

Their fun time was interrupted by a call from Yuan Shuai, who gave Chuan an ultimatum to be home within thirty minutes otherwise he will release an incriminating video of Chuan.

Apparently, the video was of Chuan crying for three days after a girl he met in his apps married or chosen someone else.

Chuan told Yuan Shuai that Du Lein was interested in his dating service apps and had promised to invest.

Episode 16

Jiang Jun was annoyed to find that her water pipe was leaking heavily.  She went to get Yuan Shuai to fix it, which he did competently but then he had a bad stomach pain which concerned Jiang Jun quite a lot.  She tried to convince him to go to the hospital with him because it might be appendicitis.

Yuan Shuai told her that he has a major business meeting today.

Jiang Jun would not let up on it so he promised her to go to the hospital after the meeting if he was still in pain.

During the meeting, Jiang Jun immediately noticed how in pain Yuan Shuai was but he signaled that he wanted the meeting to go ahead because they are representing a very nervous client who finally found his voice to sell his business ideas.

Just after the meeting ended, Yuan Shuai collapsed from the pain.  He was taken to the hospital immediately by Jiang Jun who preempted the doctor by saying that Yuan Shuai should be operated on.  This was even before the doctor gave his diagnosis.

Jiang Jun was right thought to asked for immediate surgery because Yuan Shuai has acute appendicitis.

The two had such a cute interaction that the doctor thought Jiang Jun is Yuan Shuai’s wife or at least his girlfriend.

Before the operation, Yuan Shuai asked Jiang Jun one question again she said she loves him jokingly before he could even ask her. He also said that he wanted her to be the first person he sees when he wakes up if he does because surgery has its complication.

To humour him, Jiang Jun said sure.

Meanwhile, the gorgeous Du Lei is absolutely lacking humour or joy in his life.  He was called by his sister to see their father immediately.

Du Lei and sister Linda found their father trimming his bonsai.

The father then went on to say that he likes keeping bonsai because you can trim and nurture it and make it look the way you it.

Du Lei said that he is a human being not a bonsai.  He said that he wanted to live his own life.  If they want he will return everything he’s got the money, the prestige including his name.  He said that he was finished being a substitute.

Gorgeous Kido Gao gave a very emotive and elegant acting.  Just love him.  He is my favourite in this show.  I must say Riley Wang was not looking his best in this drama.  He and the girl were absolutely boring.  I actually fast-forward their part.  Boring……

Anyway let’s go back to the gorgeous Du Lei, his back story is retold in this episode. He was adopted by Senior Du when his own son, presumably the real Du Lei died.

The boy adopted had to be born on the same minutes, hour, day, month and year of the dead boy.  He in effect was a replacement.  He was told by the Senior thought that he had to forego everything he has, his name, his memories, his things including the pet dog he was clutching.  From then on he will live as Du Lei.

Poor young Du Lei was not allowed to have emotion, everything he does was observed and if needed corrected.

He told his sister later that he had enough of it.

Episode 17

This is a filler episode with nothing much happening. Alright there are plenty of cute moments between Yuan Shuai and Jiang Jun.

Well, it is the most unbelievable but unremarkable thing.  Yuan Shuai’s assistant has a girlfriend.  Basically the assistant has been lying to the girl; telling her that he is a prosperous businessman who owns a plush apartment in the city.

The apartment the assistant described was the one Yuan Shuai’s own apartment.  So the assistant begged Shuai to lend him the apartment because his girlfriend had come to town.

Shuai took the opportunity to move in next door to Jiang Jun’s place.

While the assistant girlfriend, Xinxin was doing yoga, she noticed something underneath the sofa.  It was a polaroid photo of Jiang Jun.  She immediately suspected that her boyfriend might be involved with Jiang Jun.

Episode 18

It was my poor gorgeous Du Lei’s birthday.  Initially, he was happy with Jiang Jun’s company as he properly let go and had fun.  He had never laughed so much but in the end, Jiang Jun has to leave him as Yuan Shuai used his wound from his surgery for an excuse to make her come home immediately.

Poor Du Lei was racked with sadness as he was really alone once again.

Linda went to her therapist to talk about her sadness that Du Lei lumped her to the people that seemed to control his life.

Her therapist told her to be honest with herself as she is really a one controlling bitch.  LOL

As soon as Jiang Jun arrived back at the flat, she was pleasantly surprised with the number of homecooked dishes made by Shuai.  for dessert, she got an accidental kiss by the closet.

This became a problem as she became obsessed with lips the next day at the office.

West World is up and running.  It had arranged for Juno to meet her Zeus offline.

Episode 19

It was West World first activity day.

Du Lei was there to help out.

He was chatting with Jiang Jun in front of the jellyfish aquarium when Yuan Shuai arrived.

Yuan Shuai got jealous immediately and interrupted Du Lei and Jiang Jun.

Yuan Shuai and Du Lei then started a one-upmanship regarding their knowledge of jellyfish.

Jiang Jun was very impressed as the two combatants are on par with each other.  They have the same IQ and it seems read the same book and having the same interest.

Jiang Jun tried to interrupt but the two men were so wrapped up in each other. It was such a lovely moment cut short when Du Lei received a phone call from Linda that their father had been taken to the hospital.

When he got there, his father had just had surgery and Linda begged Du Lei to help her out because she can do it alone trying to pacify the investors who had heard of their father’s collapse.

Du Lei, after a while, assured Linda that he will get on to it.

Meanwhile, the main event of the West World activity was for the 100 percent compatibility couple to meet up.

The couple were blindfolded and then the moment of truth.  Face to face they removed their eye covers and they were both happily surprised to find out that Juno was Jiang Jun while Zeus was Yuan Shuai.

This only confirmed their feelings for one another.

Annoying Xu Li ran off when Xiaochang got surrounded by female clients.  She completely ignored the fact that it was a business.

Deluded Xiaochang noticed that she was gone and went to look for her.

Xu Li’s persistence did work.  I still think that he could do better. LOL
