Episode 1

Good start but I thought that spinning wire formation stunts went a tad too long.

Wang Yibo is just gorgeous but I kept thinking of him as Wangji and he was being unfaithful to Wei Wuxian.

Zanilla is just perenially young looking.  She is so stunning.

Anyway, in ancient times, the Southern and Northern Dynasties were always at war and the people suffered because of it.

Some smaller 48 martial art sects joined forces to provide sanctuary to refugees of war.

Li Zheng of the South Blade clan built a fortress in Hunan.

Peace and prosperity prevailed.

24 hours security was applied in the borders of the 48 fortresses except where Ximo River is right across it.  The river is a natural barrier.

Not only that a great master has created a spinning wire formation within the river that made it impossible to cross it.

Except for one young upstart; Xie Yun whose martial art is exceptional.  Very lithe on his feet and can walk on water and glide on perilous blade-like wires.

He happened to end up at the 48th Fortress, surprising the River Master who immediately sent a warning that Ximo River formation had been compromised.

Immediately, Li Jin Rong went into action to hunt for the intruder.

Li Jin Rong is the mother of Fei.  She is also the incumbent leader of the sect since Li Sheng is still young and immature.

Li Sheng is the nephew of the founder of the 48th Fortress.  And it was expected that he will marry Fei one day.

Li Sheng overheard Li Jin Rong speaking with her husband at the hall of elders.  They said that he is the natural leader as his family is the founder of the fortress but Li Jin Rong has worries that because Li Sheng  is sentimental and a hothead, he may go astray.

Li Sheng was hurt and decided to leave the fortress.

But he did not take into consideration that crossing the Ximo River was fatal.

Fei followed him and he would have really gotten in danger if she did not save him.

They would have died if Xie Yun did not save them both by helping and telling them the possible movements of the wires.

It was stunning stunts and Zanilla was so lithe after she just had a baby.

Seeing the danger Li Sheng and Fei were in, the River master stopped the mechanism of the formation.

They arrested Xie Yun.  It was decided that he should be killed.

Fei disagreed and told her mother that she and  Li Sheng owed their lives to the intruder.

She then let him get away but woefully got punished for it.

Episode 2

Xie Yun braved the perilous Ximo River to get to Lord Gantang to carry out the request of General Wang Lin.

Lord Gantang is Zhou Yi Tang, Fei’s father.

The request was to give the Anping token to Lord Gantang.

Lord Gantang had been expecting it.  It was fated that he will go back and lead the Anping Army.

Ji Rong was very upset.

But not as upset as Fei who blamed Xie Yun for her father leaving.  She told him that she regretted saving him.  If he had died he would not been able to give the token to her father and he would have not left.

Fei is a daddy’s girl.  This was because her mother is the leader of the sect had no time to look after her kids.  And when Fei started learning martial art, Ji Rong can’t compliment her for her achievement because she does not want to appear bias towards her toward.

Her father was her solace for her every upset in her young life.

Her father’s carriage was just leaving the border when the one-eyed man and his men ambushed them.  He was so good with his armoured shield but not as good as Ji Rong who showed up to save the day.

It is getting better.  Loving it.

Episode 3

Ji Rong was there to send off her husband.  Between them, she had told him that if he left, he must not come back whether dead or alive; basically, he was abandoning his family for someone else’s war.

Zhou Yi Tang looked at his wife as his carriage started rolling on but she had turned her back.

Six month’s later….

The word her father said to her as he was leaving was that the strong can have a choice.

So she made herself strong.  She conquered the spinning wire formation and passed her assessment as well as a martial artist.

Finally, her mother complimented her after she won over her mother for her assessment.  She taught Fei the Snow Breaking Sword techinique.

Fei went to tell the River Master of her achievement but she told him that she does not want to be a hero.

The River Master told her that being a hero is not about the number of baddies you killed.  It is the attitude just like Li Zheng.

The River Master then recounted how the gorgeous Li Zheng turned up when all hope were gone for the River Master.  Li Zheng was all protective and vanquished the baddies in no time.

Li Zheng is Fei’s grandfather, the founder of the fortress.

Meanwhile, the children of General Wu were supposed to be guests at 48th but they had not turned up.

Episode 4

Mrs. Wang, the matriarch of 48th Fortress led the search for the Wu children and her son, Chanfei.

Mrs. Wang praised Fei for her skill after she had her first kill which rather upset her.

Mrs Wang told her that she killed because she had to save people.

Again, the competitive Li Sheng got jealous and at the first opportunity, he thought he should prove himself and went to look for the Wu children and  Chenfei alone.

He was seen by Fei and followed him.

They were trying to go to Hou Manor but found that their soldiers seemed to have turned into bandits.

Episode 5

Fei ended up falling into an underground prison where she met Xie Yun again.  She offered to help him escape but he refused because all the prisoners have been poisoned and they need the antidote.

She went to look for the antidote but along the way she met a man who reminded her of her father.  She developed a rapport with him.  It turned out that he was the demon lord; he advised her to run away if she meets a man in a red robe.

The man in the red robe was the Phoenix who ended up having a fight with the invigorated demon lord. The demon lord ordered his soldier not to kill the girl (Fei)

Fei and Xie Yun hurriedly helped all the prisoners to escape because they found out that the cave prison is going to blow.

Huo Lian Tao of the Huo Manor lit the kerosene tanks.

Episode 6

Fei and Xie Yun encountered the red-robed guy, the Pheonix.  He going to kill Fei but Xie Yun distracted him by saying that he had been singing the winter song wrongly all this time.

The realisation of it made the Pheonix so stressed, he left them.

Fei and Xie Yun reunited with the Chenfei and the rest of the group.

Chen Fei said that Miss Wu might need some female support as she had had a traumatic time with the travel.

Fei sought Miss Wu or Chu Chu who she realised she had really nothing in common with.  Chu Chu was far too feminine.

Seeing that Chu Chu has a pendant, Fei wore the minute wooden sword that Xie Yun gave her as a pendant which made Xie Yun happy.

Teacher Chong Xiao asked Fei if she had formal education.

Mrs Wang found Li Sheng hanging for dear life in a ravine.

Episode 7

Xie Yun is falling for Fei.  They do have chemistry.  Wang Yibo is so darn cute.

Chuchu was having period pains. LOL

The demon lord said that there was someone behind Huo Lintao and that was the Third Prince Chen Zichen.

Huarong Hotel was burnt down and it looks like Chenfei and Chu Chu’s young brother were burnt to death.

The little town was in lockdown to search for Chuchu.

To evade the searchers, Fei and Chuchu dressed up as one of the invaders or darth vader. LOL

48th sect contact with Huarong Hotel was the spy who blabbed that Fei, Jinrong’s daughter was about.

The story is getting more convoluted.

Zichen is a brother to Xie Yun.

Xie Yun wanted to look at what happened at the hotel but Zichen was preventing him from going.  He sent Mr Bai instead to investigate.

When Mr Bai returned, he had with him a jade token belonging to Fei, and Xie Yun was concerned that she might have died in the fire.

Zichen is blaming the demons for burning the hotel.

Episode 8

Fei and Chu Chu disposed of their disguise and went to hide where a lady in red was dancing.

When Fei tried to live, the lady stopped her.  She was a very good martial artist, better than Fei.

She saw Fei using the Snow Breaking Sword technique and wanted to know where she learnt it from.

Fei said that it was a family ‘heirloom’

The lady was intrigued and asked if she was related to Li Zheng.

Fei said that he was her grandfather.

The lady who was Duan Juiniang said that makes her Fei’s grandmother.

Fei said that was a lie because her grandmother died from giving birth to her mother.

Duan Juaninag said that would make her step-grandmother.

Fei then began spewing blood then fainted.

Chenfei was not dead but he died after Mr Bai killed him rather than being publicly tortured.

Poor Xie Yun was so upset thinking that Fei is dead and seeing that Mr Bai killed Chenfei.

When Fei came to, she was told that their host is Duan Junniang.

Fei remember her mother saying that Duan Juninag was one of the top masters of martial art.  Duan Juniang was from the Yellow and Green Palm but has been missing for a decade.
