Episode 1

The first episode is an absolute treat for every Xiao Zhan fan.  The entire episode is about him, no female lead, the second male lead, or any other leads for distraction. ❤️❤️❤️

Tang San was having a very vivid dream.  Someone was commanding him to release what is in his heart.  Look deep into his heart and let it come out.

He then woke up feeling very puzzled.

He was in the forest with the Xuan Tian Records which by now he knew by heart.  It is a cultivation booklet of the highest degree.

And soon enough he was able to apply his cultivation level when a giant spider, as big as a car, came out of nowhere to attack him.

Though Tang San was very able at a martial art, he had to use the purple demon eyes cultivation together with the Hundred Projectiles to the spider.  He also used his ghostly trace technique

But alas, the giant spider was much too agile and ferocious.

Tang San was cornered by the spider and thought it was the end of him.

But the Lone Wolf Man, Sun Yun Tao suddenly appeared and finished off the spider.  He was rather impressed that Tang San was able to blind the spider.

Sun Yun Tao introduced himself as being from Martial Soul Hall, he was looking for new students for the school and invited Tang San for the trial the next day in town.  He told Tang San that the students will learn the martial Soul Awakening to enable them to be one with their martial soul.

He explained that everyone in the Doulou Continent has a martial soul.

Tang San went home excitedly and told his father about his experience with the spider.  He told him that he was able to blind the spider using his purple demon eyes.  He then told his father that he was asked by Sun Yun Tao to try out for Martial Soul Hall.

His father asked him immediately if Sun Yun Tao saw Tang San using his purple demon eyes and hundred projectile and most importantly if Tang san revealed the existence of the Xuan Tian Records.

Tang San said that Sun Yun Tao did not see anything.

His father then said not to never tell anyone about it.  He then asked Tang San if he had learned the Xuan by heart.

When Tang San confirmed that he had, his father burned the book.

Despite his father forbidding him to try out for the Martial soul Hall, Tang San still went to have a look, though stopped himself from joining in.

But he was seen by Sun Yun Tao and able to encourage him to reveal his soul master.

Out of his right palm came a Blue Silver Plant, which was a disappointment to Sun Yun Tao because it was deemed useless and Tang San cannot be a soul master.

But when Sun Yun Tao asked Tang San to touch a dark blue stone, it started pulsating.  Sun Yun Tao said that Tang San was born with soul power.  He then invited Tang San to Martial Soul Hall.

Tang San’s father at first would let not him go but he changed his mind under two conditions.

The first condition was Tang San can be a soul master but cannot join the Master Soul Hall.

Tang San agreed with the condition.  He then told his father that his soul martial was disappointing.  He showed his father the blue silver plant.

His father was like, ok!!!

But Tang San said that he feels that there is something else.  He can feel in his left hand.

His father told him to raise his hand and concentrate.

Tang San has Twin Martial Souls, he has the Blue Silver plant on the right and the  Hao Tian Hammer on the left.

His father told him that the Hao Tian hammer is not a tool for killing but a guardian.

The hammer protects the plant.

His father then gave him the second condition.

The second condition was to make a piece of chunky iron into a fine needle.

For days and nights, Tang San turned into a blacksmith.

And then finally he had a fine needle.

He was happy to leave but his father was sad and rather worried about the Xuan Tian Record and the hammer.

Suddenly Tang San turned up because he forgot the needle.

So cute.  Xioa Zhan was absolutely adorable.

Episode 2

Saying goodbye to his father was very emotive for Tang San.  He made his father promised that he misses him, they he should tell the village leader immediately and Tang San would come back. Awww.

Tang San’s entrance to the Nouding school was not smooth. He was being discriminated against until Tang San revealed that he has a full Soul Power.

Da Shi, who is the caretaker of the school became visibly intrigued when he heard that Tang San had the full soul power.  Apparently, that is one in a million.  He asked Tang San what was his other martial soul as he must have another one aside from the Blue Silver plant.

Tang San denied that he has a twin martial soul.

Anyway, Da Shi said that Tang San will be his student.

Tang San did not accept nor decline.

Young Master Xiao invited him to join his club, the martial club.

Tang San was vaguely interested until he found out that the initiation was to kill rabbits.   He let out the rabbits instead and told Young Master Xiao that killing innocent rabbits is against the basic principle of Martial Soul powers.

Tang San went to look for a part-time job immediately. He found a job at a blacksmith, Uncle San, who was so impressed with Tang San’s legendary Random Air Hammer skill.

Thank goodness the female lead appears on the second episode.  She is annoying and super horny.  She is cute though but she was supposed to stay at the female dorm but during the dead of the night, she crept to the male dorm and harrassed the virginal Tang San.

The episode ended boringly with Tang Sang braiding the horny girl’s hair!

Why ruin a very promising drama with useless romance!  Why not provide a female lead who uses her head rather than what is between her legs for brain?!!!

Episode 3-5

I really really wanted to enjoy this drama but it is just so naff.  The story is blah or rather how they executed it.

I hope Xiao Zhan’s next drama is better because this is another dud after his film Jade Dynasty 1.

Anyway, Tang San became a victim of Young Master Xiao’s vindictiveness.  He is the son of the rich and very influential governor.

He found out fairly early on from his teacher at the college that they can really help him to become a soul master because his soul martial is a useless Blue Silver plant.

Tang San went to Da Shi who taught him how to cultivate his soul martial.  It worked too and he immediately realised that he can no longer stay at the academy.

He left the school with Da Shi but before long, annoying girl had followed them.

Now, she would question everything Da Shi would teach Tang San.

They had to harvest souls from beasts, The most ferocious the beast, the more powerful their soul ring was.

At this point, I just fast forward the rest of the episode and I don’t think I missed anything.

It is very underwhelming after looking forward to this drama for so long.

Episode 6

I shall try to give this drama another go mainly for two things.  First, Xiao Zhan is just too cute to miss, and second, Da Shi’s soul martial is a dog with a lethal fart. 😝🤪

This lethal fart saved Tang San, Da Shi, and Xiao Wu from Young Master Xiao’s evil deeds.

Tang San, Da Shi and Xiao Wu got away but someone killed Master Xiao.

Episode 7 – 8

The three went to Tan Sang’s village; to his father.

His father though advised that they should leave immediately because the police were on their way to arrest them for killing Master Xiao.

The three were surprised to learn that Master Xiao was dead and Tan Sang said he did not kill.

Anyway, Tan Sang said that he had lost the power of his Blue Silver Plant.

Tan Sang’s father took Da Shi aside.  Da Shi actually recognised Tan Sang’s father as a powerful Soul Master, it was from him that Tan Sang inherited the hammer soul spirit. .Anyway, the father told Da Shi to look after Tan Sang.  As he was going to put an to the despotic governor.

He also told Shi that there is a blue silver plant which has been planted by his wife for Tan Sang one day.  And this was the time that Tang San needed the plant as the police came with their chief having an extraordinary power

The fight was eventful and the blue Silver plant came to for them.  It was able to give the police a run for his money. And Tang San able to defeat him.

Then he had to get the ring from the Blue Silver flower which made him stronger than ever before.

When his father returned, they learned that the governor was dead.

He overheard his father and Da Shi talking about his father going away and leaving Tang San to Da Shi’s care.

Tang San cried and begged his father to bring him with him but his father was adamant. He said that he will return one day when Tang San had become super strong and a soul master.

Though the governor is dead, Nouding School is now a no-go area for them.

Tang San asked Da Shi if there are other school they could go to?

Da Shi said that there was the Soul Martial Hall, which Tang San remembered he promised his father never to go to.  There was also seven schools from clans.  But as a graduate of their school, he will be indentured to them for a  lifetime.

Then Da Shi said that there is always the Demon School.

Tang San was taken aback by the suggestion. Da Shi though was quick to qualify that the school was not for demon per se but it was hard to get into the school.  Only truly elite can get into it.

Tang San and Xiao Wu found out on the first night at the school prior to taking the entrance test.

Episode 9

Da Shi was known to the headmaster of the school. Not wanted to be parted from Tang San as he promised Tang San’s father to look after him, Da Shi got himself an unpaid teaching job at the Sh Lan Ke School.

The new students were given an investigation assignment in a village that reported a fire and a monster having caused it.

Episode 10

There was a survivor in the fire.  It was a child of 15 who seemed to have lost his mind.

Tang San was finding it strange that there is a lot of chicken in the village but no other animals, not even a dog.  But Tang San was wondering why there were no chicken droppings in the village.

The village leader was not very encouraging.  He then told them to go and not to waste their training on something that is only someone’s imagination.

But the elder was actually hiding the boy and told him not to come out.

The boy said that he wanted to see his father one last time.

The elder said that his father is no longer human.

Tang San and Xiao Wu overheard Zhu Zhu Qing and Dai Mu Bai fighting.

Apparently, Dai Mu Bai was Zhu Zhu Qing’s fiance.  She came to break off their engagement.

Dai Mu Bai was fine about it.  He said that he left the family because he can’t marry someone who he just met once.

Instead of being relieved that she had accomplished her mission, she got upset because he agreed a break immediately.  She then said he had kissed which totally flummoxed him.  He can’t jus remember.

`Hu Lie Na, who can sense the monster partnered up with Dai Mu Bai.  They end up in another dimension, exactly the same as the village but without the people.

Hu LIe Na saw the black smoke monster and had a fight  with it.  It was too powerful and had also defeated Dai Mu Bai.

Tang San and Xiao Wu found them after following a chicken.

Episode 11

Zhu Zhu Qing found the boy.  The boy said the being is not a monster, it was his father.

The guys with the boy, Hong Jun,  entered the Narnia-like door into the other dimension to look for his father.

They found the monster and fought with it but in the end Tang San stopped the fighting because he noticed that the monster was defending itself but not trying to kill anyone of them.

Tang San concluded the chicken were martial souls.

Xiao Wu and Hu Lie Na found Hong Jun in the dimension replica house with a chicken which the more experienced and knowledgeable Hu Lie Na said a phoenix.

It turned out the phoenix is Hong Jun’s martial soul and the whole village have chicken as their martial souls.

Episode 12

Hong Jun’s father used his martial soul to combine with Hong Jun’s mutated Phoenix Soul to protect his extraordinary power.

With the students begging the Headmaster to admit Hong Jun to school to learn to control his power, the headmaster agreed but Hong Jun has to follow the rules and he would work off his tuition fees after graduation in the school.

Episode 13

Another student turned up who was behaving like a little princess.  The headmaster told her that she might be a princess of her clan but in his school, she is currently the weakest despite already having two soul rings.  She was Ning Rong Rong of the Amber Pagoda clan.

Dai Mu Bai is the team leader and started training Hong Jun to control his power.  They went to the soul arena for a contest as well find Bu Le, the one who caused Hong Jun’s father’s death.

Episode14

Bu Le was after Xiao Wu and sent men to capture her.  When Tang San and Xiao Wu learned who was after them, they willingly went with the men after roughing them up first.

Bu Le said Xiao Wu is even prettier close up but Tang San was not in the mood for any pleasantaries.

He immediately asked for the antidote for Hong Jun and his village.

Bu Le finally told them where it was but it was a trap.

Xiao Wu got poisoned by an even stronger kind and she was told she had only 6 months to live at the most.

Now Tang San was really pissed.  He used the full force of his Blue Silver plant on Bu Le who finally confessed that the HQ has it.

They had to go to Star Forest to meet with the rep of HQ.

Tang San confessed what had happened to the master and the headmaster who said that there is nothing to do but for all of them to go to Star Forest.

While Tang San and Xiao Wu were waiting for the representative from HQ, Xiao Wu commented that Beast Soul master should be able to live side by side with normal humans.

Tang San disagreed.  Beast are beast and won’t tolerate humans.

Xiao Wu persevered.  She said that there are some exceptions but still Tang Yan disagreed.

Xiao Wu then asked him if she was hunted by 100,000 soul masters, will he save her.

Tang Yan said that as long as there is breath in his body, he will protect her.

It looks like Xiao Wu is a Beast Soul.  Hmmmm

Anyway, they finally met the rep from HQ.  He said he will give them the antidote but under a certain condition.

He gave Tang San a vial of green liquid that he had to break in front of a soul master with a cherry blossom on her chest.

Episode 15

Da Shi gave the vial of poison to Flander for safe keeping.

Meanwhile, the group went into the thick of the Star Forest where they disturbed the Golden Ape who seemed to know Xiao Wu as she kept giving him. signal to cease and desist but he would not.

Instead, he abducted her.

Tang San begged Ao Si ka for a booster kiwi so he could fly to find where the ape took Xiao Wu.

Episode 16

Tang San has not located Xiao Wu yet instead he found Du Gu Yan.

Du Gu Yan looks like an innocent and gentle little maiden. How could Tang San kill her for the sake of annoying Xiao Wu?!!!

Tang San turned into a giant spider when he killed it and tried to get the soul beast to advance his soul ring.

Da Shi warned him that he is not powerful enough to take the 2000 year old giant spider soul but Tang San had became a law unto himself.

Da Shi was right, Tang San became a spider.

Xiao Wu returned with the Ape who helped to keep Tang San still while she transfered some of her spirit soul to him to wake him up and fight off the strong spider spirit in him.

Tang San almost killed Xiao Wu in the process by piercing her twice just over her breast area.  She commanded the ape to vanish before the people return.

Anyway, he became himself again and really pissed when he found Xiao Wu unconscious and bleeding.

He blamed the ape which has gone but his comrade who had returned and saw him piercing Xiao Wu that he was barking up the wrong tree.  He was the one who almost killed Xiao Wu.

Anyway, Tang San looked after Xiao Wu.

Tang San was in the market place where he chatted with Da Shi about the poison which broke for Du Gu Yan.  He said that while Flanders was fighting with the ape, the vial of poison dropped and Tang San picked it up but it broke and he noticed that the content was absorbed by his hand.

He feels find.

Da Shi said that the elder with Du Gu Yan said that when Du Gu Yan touched him a green smoke went into Du Gu Yan’s hand.

Tang Yan went to look for the man who gave him the poison.

Episode 17

The hooded man was waiting for him.  He said that he was surprised that Tang San was still alive.

Tang San asked him for the antidote for Xiao Wu which was given to him without ado.

The hooded man though told him that Tang San was really impressive and as such would like to invite him to a secret league of soul masters who are led by a nine-ring super master.

Tang San was not a bit interested until he heard the name of the great leader, the Grand Soul Land Master … Tang Hao.

Tang Hao is Tang San father.  Just to confirm, Tang San asked what was Tang Hao’s soul beast.

The man said of course it could only be the Hao Tian Hammer.

Tang San said he would like to meet Tang Hao.

The hooded man said that was a near impossible request but if he goes to Xi Ci City arena and wins he might be brought to Tang Hao.

The antidote did not work on Xiao Wu because she was on another poison level caused by Tang San himself when he pierced her.

Da Shi advised him to use his Blue Silver plant to absorb the poison.

Anyway, Tang San had an attack of conscience that his father was the leader of the sect that causing mutations on soul beasts and instrumental in the demise of Ma Hon Jun’s father.

He took Ma Hong Jun aside and he confessed everything.  He said that if he finds out that his father was really the mastermind then he was going to stop him. Ma Hong Jun said he will help him.

Ao Si Ka and Tang Yan that Xiao Wu had progressed a lot.  From one ring soul now have three rings.  She has the power to make one dizzy and she can teleport.

Episode18

Da Shi sent his Devil Seven for team-building exercises by making them carry a wicker backpack filled with rocks in a 10-mile up the hill and then down the hill.

The teambuilding worked because they worked together.

The stronger Mu Bai and Tang San helped carry the loads of the less able.

Da Shi was pleasantly surprised when they returned ahead of time and reckoned that they would make the best team yet.

Episode 19

The team is being trained by the masters in preparation for their battle with Mu Bai’s brother who was supposed to be super strong and super cunning.

It the brother wins, he will take Mu Bai back home and close down the Shu Lai Ke school.

The masters were confident that they had down enough.
