Episode 1

What the heck?!!!

This is an S+ drama, isn’t it?!!!

As there is no available English sub just yet, I had a quick peep and was rather shocked to see a green screen background scenery/CGI.  Unfortunately, it was so obvious as it seemed the technique used was from ten years ago.  It is like watching old-style Power Rangers.

I shall leave this for a while and wait for the sub.  I hope when I return I will be pleasantly surprised.

All a beautiful demon, Ji Yun He, wanted in life was to be free, have lots of rest and relaxation playing in the snow.  That is not really much to ask, isn’t it?!!!

But it seemed she was not allowed because, while she was gamboling in the snow, a masterful Chang Yi turned up and with one sleight of his hand, Yun He was tied up and can’t escape.  She was then thrown into the pond.

Then flashback….

It was not always like this, Yun He was a feisty demon who competes openly with her adopted brother, Lin Hao Qing.

Yun He and Lin Hao Qing are slayers who are tasked to deter and rehabilitate offenders.

Anyway, Yun He came across the Guo Ho Bird Madam, who had lost her Ayin (baby bird) so she had taken into stealing other baby birds.  Her latest victim was a little chick from the LGBT community 🤣🤣🤣.

Yun He showed Madam Bird a hologram of where her real ayin.  Ayin was adopted by a loving caring couple from the mortal world.  Little Ayin was heard saying that birds should not be kept in cages; they should be allowed to fly in the sky.

Madam Bird was moved by the humanity of Ayin so she surrendered her elixir of life orb to Yun He.

Lin Hao Qing was proudly presenting a gift to his father, Lin Cang Lan.  Everyone was oohing and aahing at such an offering but then Yun He turned up and then sniggered at the present.  She then produced the orb of the elixir of life.  Everyone was stunned with admiration because it was unheard of to get the orb from the powerful Madam Bird.

So Yun He won but not really because she was called by Lin Cang Lan in private.  She was hardly in front of Lin Cang Lan when he punished her with a super electric whip that went round and round her.

Lin Cang Lan told her that she should have not bested and humiliated Lin Hao Qing because he was going to be the master of Wen Hua Valley one day.

Qing Shu could see that Yun He would perish if the punishment should continue on much longer so she reminded Lin Cang Lan to stop.

Yun He was so weak but she staggered out.  She was found by her best friend, Lolo the butterfly who tended to her till she regained her energy.

After some bubbling Luobo rice porridge, Yun He was as good as new.

She was with the other demon slayers when they opened a huge chest with their power of cultivation.

In out of the chest was a merman, who was stronger than all of them.  But then a golden arrow came flying out of nowhere and pierced the merman’s tail which nailed him on a tree.

It was Lin Hao Qing who shot the arrow.  Yun He told him not to damage the tail.

Lin Hao Qing was beyond listening to Yun He.  The arrow was turning into a root which was engulfing the merman.

But then the Shunde Fairy arrived and everything stopped as she walked barefoot in a bed of rose petals being thrown on the ground by her maids.

The Shunde Fairy asked what has the sharkman done for the punishment he was receiving?

The translation is not so good so this is my understanding of what the first episode is.

Please tell me otherwise!

Episode 2

The Shunde Fairy wanted to know more about the merman so she asked Lin Hao Qing to make the mute merman talk.

Again, Yun He turned up and cried foul regarding sexism.  She said she wanted to join the contest of who could communicate with the merman first.

The Shunde Fairy said to go ahead, she can join.

Again, Yun He was called by Lin Cang Lan. This time he did not tell her off but told her that any win will be good for Wun Hua Valley.

Lin Hao Qing went first and tortured the merman under the cover of the strong shield.  Apparently, the merman is a leader of the immortals.  The shield prevents the other immortals from knowing that the merman is under threat.

I can see why many netizens were complaining that Ren Jia Lun was wearing a muscle suit because it becomes so apparent in certain angles.🤣🤣🤣

Anyway, the merman was getting sick from his tail injury and the barrage of torture from Lin Hao Qing.

Having not gained anything,  Lin Hao Qing left.

Then enter Yun He.

Yun He was the opposite of Lin Hao Qing.  She was caring and friendly.  She wanted to cure him and feel him as she glided her fingers into his fake muscly body.

She applied ointment and when it was not working as the embedded golden arrow was slowly poisoning him, Yun He used her qi to remove the arrow.

The merman can see that she was using her energy to remove the arrow.  But the arrow was enchanted and it only made the arrow grow sprouts that would engulf the merman once again.

Yun He was not easily defeated, she used more of her remaining qi until she started spewing blood.  The merman noticed it.

It might not have removed the arrow but it did stop and made the sprouts retreat.

She told him that she wanted to be friends.  She doesn’t have many.  She then told him that Lin Hao Qin will return but the merman must use his positive mental attitude to overcome the coming torture from Lin Hao Qin.

And it did come, but Lin Hao Qin knew that the merman had had advice from Yun He because the merman was undeterred.

The merman used the last of his vigor to expel the arrow from his tail.

Lin Hao told the merman that he should not buy whatever Yun He tells him because she was a demon slayer just like Lin Hao Qin, showing his official token to the merman.  He said that Yun He has one as well but she was using a slowly slowly catchy monkey technique.

The merman was finally able to fall to the ground after the arrow had been expelled from his tall.

The merman was an amphibian.  Out of water who could grow legs instead of tails.

When Yun He returned with Lolo in tow, Lolo was very admiring of the merman’s long… legs as she stared avidly at the naked merman.

Yun He cultivated that robe for the gorgeous merman.

The merman saw the token from Yun He’s waistband and knew that Lin Hao Qin was telling the truth.

Yun He gave him a bottle of a very rare and effective pill that could cure injuries and illnesses, it is so potent it could bring the newly dead to life.

Instead of being grateful, he threw the bottle.

Yun He told him that she wanted to be friends but it seems he had never trusted her.

She told him that she was helping him because he might be a way for her to leave the ghost valley.

She left the merman who felt slightly guilty especially when he pick one of the pills and swallowed it.  It invigorated him for a while but then his heart started throbbing strongly.

Episode 3

It was not the pill that affected the merman’s heart.  It was the cave that had been put under enchantment by Lin Hao Qing.

Anyway, Yun He was able to get the merman to her villa with the help of Lolo and Fu Chao (?)

The merman had started talking stiltedly which made Yun He secretly victorious.

The merman was so grateful for her promise to return him to the sea.  To show his gratitude, he made himself cry; the teardrops turned into pearls for Yun He.  So cute.

Then her brother with his army came to her villa to take the merman.

When Yun He refused, Siyu, Lin Hao Qing’s assistant threw a poisoned dagger which grazed Yun He in the neck.

Lin Hao Qing was annoyed.  He stopped Siyu from doing anything further.

When Lin Hao Qing was alone with Siyu later on, he throttled her and told her that he will kill her if she so much as touched a hair on his sister’s head.

Siyu told Lin Hao Qing that his relationship with his sister was wrong.  This only made Lin Hao Qing mad and put his boot on her neck while she was prostrate on the ground. He asked her the antidote for Yun He’s wound.

Meanwhile, Yun He staggered into her villa where she collapsed.

The poison was visible on her neck.  She was dying.  The merman took a scale from his arm which made him weak but it cured Yun He instantly.

The next day, everyone came to the villa to fetch the merman.

The poor merman realised that he could not really trust anyone not even Yun He.

Yun He was very sad about it but she can’t really do anything about it as all the big guns had turned up for the arrest of the merman who can now talk.

Meanwhile, Li Shu had turned up at Wun Hua Valley.

Yun He and Lolo found him rather mysterious so they followed him when he entered a secret realm.

23 March 2022: Rumours has it that Part 2 of this drama will be released on 6 April 2022.

Episode 4

Yun He and Lolo saw Li Shu meeting Commander Xue under a Wisteria tree.  They were obviously having a heavy romance as they saw them snog.

Lolo was rather clueless about what was going on but Yun He was getting some free tuition for kissing.

The next morning, Yun He and Lolo met up with Commander Xue and Li Shu.

Yun He reminded Commander Xue was having romance and meeting with a lover in the dead of the night was strictly prohibited.  She promised that she would not tell on her if the commander would allow her to see the merman.

Yun He then ran into the cave and lip-locked with the unsuspecting merman.

Yun He then told the commander that like her she has also a lover.  She was in love with the merman.

Yun He said that she doesn’t want to fight with Commander Xue.  Like her, she wanted also to be free and be with her lover openly.

Yun He then mentioned Commander Xue’s branding on her neck.  It was a frost mark.

Yun He took Commander Xue and Li Shu to a hidden mountain where she told Commander Xue and Li Shu that those with frost marks were just chess pieces to Lin Cang Lang.

Those who disobey Lin Cang Lang will be brought to the mountain as a final resting place.

When Commander Xue remained unconvinced about the frost mark, Yun He challenged her to discard the frost mark.

Commander Xue agreed to do it because she was told that she can remove it anytime.  But she found that she can’t even after using her qi to get rid of the mark.

Despite having seen Yun He and the merman kissing for the longest time, Commander Xue remained unconvinced and told Yun He that she will give her three days to prove that she was really in love with the merman.

Yun He wasted no time, she went to the cave to see the merman who was uneasy in the presence of Yun He.  He felt that he was sexually harassed the last time they saw each other when she forcibly kissed him.

And she was going to do it again.

The merman kept his distance because he felt violated.  But Yun He was insistent so she ended up being chucked in the air into the other side of the cave.

Yun He moaned at Lolo.  She wanted to know why the merman declined her touches.

Lolo told her that she was too overpowering.  She had to use another tactic, be gentle and bring him gifts🤣.

Yun He said that Lolo was a genius so she returned to the merman and apologise.  She gave him a gift. A shell which he immediately put against his ear to listen to the sound of the sea.

She confessed to him that she could not stop herself from showing her affection because she really like him, in fact, she loves him.

The naive merman bought everything she was saying.   So when she was going for a kiss, he told her that they should hug first before anything else.

Commander Xue and Li Shu saw them being romantic so they finally believed and resolved to join forces with Yun He.

Yun He later felt sorrowful because she felt guilty.  The merman said that if he will be with her, then talking and walking, he might not be allowed back to the sea.
