Four young police officers learned from their seniors how to attack crimes.
Episode 1
Li Dawei was on board a bus when a baby became fractious. To quiet the baby down the old woman looking after it tried to cover his mouth and nose which alarmed the other passengers. One by one, the passengers said that the woman was not the child’s grandma.
The old woman could not show any evidence of her relationship to the baby or even an ID. The atmosphere was getting heated when LI Dawei tried to calm the people down by saying that he was a police officer.
When they asked him for an ID, he cannot produce one because he was still a new recruit so the people became doubly suspicious and ‘real’ police were called to the scene.
Balihe Station is a hub of activity because Director Song was coming in unexpectedly to welcome the 4 new cadets who are joining the team.
First to arrive was Zhao Jiwei, a top graduate of the police academy who was majoring in criminal investigation.
Second was Xia Jie, who was treated like a princess because her father was a hero. A policeman who died in the line of duty.
The third was a top-notched cadet, Yang Shu, who is a graduate of Peking University and as such treated favourably.
The fourth one was, of course, Li Dawei who seemed like trouble.
Zhao Ji Wei was very keen and volunteered immediately when more manpower was needed in looking at CCTV. But then he was crushed when he found out that the task was to look for diapers.
LI Dawei and Yang Shu were allowed to tag along with the criminal investigation team.
Poor Xia Jie was upset because Chief Wang Shouyi would not let her go with the criminal investigation team as he thought it was too dangerous for a girl.
She found out why the chief was too cautious for her, her mother had been calling the station to remind and beg everyone to look after Xia Jie and not to let her get into a troublesome situation.
Xia Jie told her mother to stop calling the station.
Episode 2
Li Dawei showed he had a natural affinity for grassroots policing while Yang Shu made a mistake. He was taking his mistake too personally and began to doubt whether he could be a police officer.
Zhao Jiwei felt that he was still rather marginalised but he knew his place too much.
Meanwhile, Xia Jie and her mentor were chasing a mugger for snatching a purse from a woman. When Xia Jie’s mentor saw that the mugger had a knife, he told Xia Jie to just walk away with him. He could not take responsibility for the same situation happening again. He does not want the daughter to die or get hurt just like his mentor.

I really like this drama. It has a heart from the start.
