Episode 1
Blurb: Tushan was once a deserted land. After a millenium a seed absorbed the spirtual energy of heaven and earth. The seed grew into a mighty Grief Tree which attracted the fox clan who migrated to Tushan.
700 Years later, Shi Ji, the Tushan chief led an army of spirits to invade not only the human race but also dominated the six realms.
The humans under the leadership of Yiqi Alliance fought back. The war lasted for 300 years.
There were so many casualties on both side so Tushan Honghong had to intervene and killed Shi Ji to end the war.
Honghong became the new Tushan chief, she is supported by two foxy ladies, Yaya and Rongrong.
Honghong has a sideline job, in order to maintain and nourish the Grief Tree which is the anchor of Tushan, she become a fox spirit matchmaker.
It was the love between those who are matched that feeds the Grief Tree.
Meanwhile, there is a rule in Tushan. Human are not allowed in…
That is until the boy, Dongfang Yuechu appeared.
Yuechu who is now an orphan was being chased by Tiger and Crane, who works for Jin Ren Feng of divine light villa. They were after the spiritual blood of Yuechu, the last of the Dongfang.
Yuechu managed to breach the border of Tushan. This made Honghong appear and protect him from Tiger and Crane.
Yaya and Rongrong also appeared. They tried ot dissuade Honghong from taking in a human orphan as it was not only prohibited in Tushan but bringing up a child is an expensive business.
Honghong did not tell them that she had previously made a pact with Dongfang Qinlan, Yuechu’s mother. Qinlan asked Honghong to protect her son, in return Yuechu and his coming generations will owe Tushan. Honghong knew that the Dongfang spirit was the only thing that could revive the Grief Tree.
Yuechi was taken into a mini pavilion to live alone. He has to earn his keep despite him complaining that he was only a child.
Anyway, Yuechi practised cultivating his spirit. Honghong appeared in front of him and told him that he will get himself banished from Tushan for showing off as many spirits were killed by humans. Anyway, she took him to another place where he could practise with impunity. It was under the Grief Tree. To make sure that he does not get lost, Honghong put a GPS on him. It was a heaven and earth red string. No matter where he is, Honghong will be able to find him.
16 years passed. Yuechi was cheekier than ever but ever so handsome. He tried to chat up Honghong who was unmoved.
Meanwhile, the Grief Tree had been invaded by the Dark Force.
Yeah, the first episode is enjoyable. And the cast, especially the female are stunningly gorgeous.
Episode 2
Is this an S+ drama? I must admit the scenery is not that panoramically stunning, the CGI is not impressive, the coloration is rather drab.
Anyway, Yuechi started to plan avenging his parents. The first thing was to leave Tushan. So he asked Honghong if he could fill it for the debt collector position to go to the Demon realm.
Honghong agreed easily because she reckoned that it is predestined then she was not about to go against fate.
But she did give Yuechi extra training to cultivate his divine power. His sojourn to the demon realm was successul so this time he asked if he could go to the human realm.
Again, Honghong told him that he can but he must be careful.
Honghong later spoke with Yaya. She said that Yaya will be in charged of Tushan while Honghong is away. She is on a mission to search where the dark force came from.
Episode 3
Yuechi proceeded to the human realm. He was told where Tiger and Crane were but then a butterfly spirit told him that Honghong was in the forest.
He went to the forest and saw the confrontation between Honghong and Jin Renfang.
Jin Renfang had previously prepared a formation that should have contained Honghong’s power but he did not expect that she was much too powerful.
Anyway, later on, she asked Yuechi what he was doing in the forest. He told her that he came to rescue rather than carrying out his revenge against Tiger and Crane beause the living is more important.
She confessed to Yuechi that she wanted to find out who was behind Jin Renfang because she believed that there is a power behind Jin Ren Fang.
Anyway, Yuechi finally found Tiger and Crane. He used his power to vanquish them. He later prayed to his parents that he had avenged their death.
The day for matchmaking is fast approaching. Honghong refused to postpone the event despite the Grief Tree being invaded by dark spirit.
Episode 4
It was the matchmaker day and everyone excitedly waited for the magic petals to fall. It did start to come down but then it suddenly stopped and seemed to disintegrate.
It was because Honghong was overcome with the dark force and fainted.
Yuechi and Yaya found Honghong. Yaya said that Honghong was in her deepest nightmare and it would be dangerous to get into her psyche.
Yuechi said that he will do it as he owes Honghong so much. Yaya warned him that he had to come back before the blood moon is full otherwise he will be trapped in Honghong’s nightmare. It was an effort to get her back because she can’t see him and not realised that she was having a nightmare.
He used his magic to make her aware of what was going on knowing that it has a fatal side effect on him.
Anyway, it was a success and Honghong came out of her nightmare and fullfil her duty as a matchmaker.
Yuechi was praying fervently that he gets a flower petal but he was unsuccessful. Rongrong announced that those who did not get one should not be upset because they have a chance again in 100 years.
