Episode 1

The sign of a good drama is when you find yourself thinking this is such a short episode when in fact it is 45 minutes.  It just went by too quickly.  This is exactly how I felt with Flight To You.

It stars Seven Tan and Wang Kai, the two leads whose individual dramas I tend to cast.

Anyway, the first episode showed both leads piloting their individual crafts.

Captain Gu Nanting is a passenger pilot.  He is handsome and very precise and rather cautious.

Cheng Xiao is a freight pilot.  She loves her job and hopes to be promoted to captain after seven years of flying through the guidance of her mentor, Captain Cai.

On that flight, it was a rather dangerous time as they were bought coming into a typhoon.

Cheng Xiao successfully flew in bovines from Switzerland while Gu Nanting flew passengers from America (?).

Cheng Xiao was exhilarated by the experience and happily chatting on the phone which was overheard by Nanting who later told her off for taking too much risk.

Cheng Xiao knew who he was but she was not daunted.  She asked him if she contravened any of the company policies.

That stopped the rather sanctimonious Nanting as she might be on the reckless side but she was still operating within the rules.

That night was actually Cheng Xiao’s birthday and she wished that she be made a captain soon.

She was so sure that she will be so she told her architect to go ahead with an expensive renovation to an apartment she had just bought.

But when she went back to the office the next day to ask for the flight schedule, she was told by Captain Cai that the Fright Department was closed with immediate effect due to the company’s restructuring.

He will be retiring while she and the crew and staff of Freight will all be transferred to the Passenger Flight Department under Deputy Director Gu Nanting.

Episode 2

The transfer of the Freight Department to Passenger Service Department was not as seamless as it should be.

For one thing, Director Jiang Tao was against employing women, especially as pilots.  He does not believe that they have it. in their DNA to fly a big hulking machine where the lives of people are dependent.  He further added that they get married and get pregnant so their career is short-term.

Nanting completely disagreed and said that women are on par with men.  Women can perform the same way as men.

Cheng Xiao did not know that Nanting stood for her.  All she remember was him telling her off when she was most proud of herself for landing her plane against inclement weather so when she went for the interview, she was gunning for Nanting.

Director Jiang made her prove herself by observing her flight prowess with Nanting and Song Song.  She was given a very grim scenario which she aced.

Later, Director Jiang wanted to know how Nanting saw Cheng Xiao.

Nanting said that Cheng Xiao was an excellent pilot but she has attitude problems.

It was agreed that Nanting will be training the crew of the Freight Department to assimilate them into the Passenger Service Department.  They would leave immediately for Australia for the 2-month training.

Meanwhile, Xia Zhi, a friend of Cheng Xiao applied to become a stewardess.  It was nice to see Bo Zi Cheng again.  She is such a cutie.

Episode 3

Aww, I am loving this drama.  Loving the cast.

Xia Zhi is so cute.  Cheng Xiao is fierce and Nanting is on the anal side but so handsome.

Anyway, the ex-Frieght Dept crew are now in Australia with Nanting.

Cheng Xiao and Nanting are still not seeing eye to eye to the point that Nanting thinks that Cheng Xiao is not really suitable for the job.

Xia Zhi was so bubbly, loud, and direct, she was finding it hard to conform to what is expected of the job.

Episode 4

Cheng Xiao is fierce in proving herself as a good pilot and would practise even past midnight.  She was over doing it especially when she was already suffering from her period.

She collapsed and only found by Nanting who went looking for her when she did not turn up for class.

He took her to the infirmary where Ni Zhan a renowned mechanical engineer who was in Australia for a seminar.

Ni Zhan had met Cheng Xiao before.  He convinced Nanting to leave Cheng Xiao with him and he will look after her and bring her back to the training centre when she was better.

Nanting was reluctant at first but he had other trainees to look after so he finally agreed with his friend to leave Cheng Xiao with him.

After his class, Nanting raced to the clinic with some apples for Cheng Xiao but she was no longer in the hospital.  He went back to the centre, she was not there either.  He knocked on her bedroom door but she was not answering.  He met her by the elevator.  She said she just came back and thank him for taking her to the infirmary.

Finding Cheng Xiao collapsed really upset him as it reminded him of what happened to someone dear to him.  He found her body, lifeless.

Anyway, he was still mopping when Ni Zhan found him and gave him aeroplane models that he knew Nanting collects.

Nanting was so glad but then noticed the bag and realised that Cheng Xiao had the same bag when he saw her last so he put 2 and 2 together.

He went to see her and gave her a letter telling her why she should quit being a pilot.  She was reckless and undisciplined.  Being a pilot, she should have known not to overtire herself and not to bunk off class.

Cheng Xiao was livid and told him that she will not quit.

She started developing more discipline.

Meanwhile, Xia Zhi started to excel in training but her short-cropped lavender hair was found out. The training manager advised her to quit if she was not serious about the training.

Xia Zhi said that at first, she just wanted to try if she could do it but she quickly found that she liked the training.

The manager said that she had two months to grow her hair.  As a starter, Xia Zhi dyed her hair back to black.  She is so cute.

Episode 5

Two months later.  Xia Zhi passed the training.  She is now a flight attendant.

In Australia, everyone passed but Director Jiang saw a video of Cheng Xiao having a disagreement with the western pilot trainees.

He insisted that she should not be recruited but Nanting said she should be demoted to an observer instead for further training.

When Cheng Xiao found out that she is the top of the class and was demoted instead went ballistic and blamed Nanting for being against her.  She told him that she will file a complaint.

She went to Director Jiang to complain but was told that she had been a troublemaker with a video of her online which does not promote confidence with passengers.

She offered to quit but Mr Jiang told her not to.  Her punishment will be over soon enough.  She will be trained by Nanting.

This alone made her think that perhaps it is time to quit.

Episode 6

Cheng Xiao was talked out of resigning by Director Xie.  He said that Captain Cai used to brag about her and would be a waste to just leave especially when she had to pay a huge penalty for leaving due to the big amount the company spent on her training as a pilot.

Anyway, Cheng Xiao with a huge change to her salary had halted the renovation of her new apartment and had asked her landlord if she could postpone her quarterly rent.

What she did not realise was that Nanting is her landlord’s son and he had been liaising for his mother regarding the rent.  When Nanting agreed to postpone, Cheng Xiao invited her ‘landlord’ for a meal as a thank you but he declined.

Anyway, the first flight as an observer was with Nanting and Song Song as the first officer.

Xia Zhi was also working on the same flight and so did Li Yu Sheng.  It became eventful when Nanting would not leave without the wiper of the plane fixed.

Then, Li Yu Sheng got sexually assaulted by a passenger before they even took off.

Episode 7

I must say I am not liking Cheng Xiao’s character in this episode.

She caused chaos when she reported the pervert to the police without telling the Captain.  So it was too late for them to schedule a flight time because the airport ended up closing because of the fog.

She finally realised that flying a cargo plane was vastly different from those the passengers.  There are more things to factorise such as their safety and mental health.

The next day when their flight was rescheduled, Cheng Xiao was laughing with Nanting as the object of her foolery.  She was absolutely shameless after all the things he had to do for her.

Xia Zhi was less irritating when she constantly bullied Song Song because he spilt his drink over her brand-new uniform.

Episode 8

The crew celebrated the Chinese New Year at Sanya.

Cheng Xiao rented a jet ski which sent Nanting apoplexy.  He jumped into the sea to drag her out.  She was of course furious but he told her that as a pilot, she should not be engaging in that dangerous sport as it could affect her hearing.

Cheng Xiao would not have it and told him so.

Actually Nanting was having a worry transference.  He had a girlfriend who was flying a light aircraft which plummeted into the sea leaving her drowned. He became phobic of the sea afterwards.

Anyway, Nanting was right about her not suitable for flying.  At the moment, Cheng Xiao was too emotional to be a pilot. She does things before really thinking.

Two passengers lodged a complaint about her which was what Director Jiang needed to ground her.  Unfortunately for Nanting, Director Jiang was too sneaky and made Nanting tell her that she will be transferred to Ground Handling, which is as far as flying can be.

She went as far as leaving a resignation at Nanting’s office but later on, she changed her mind and quickly went to take it back.

Episode 9

Cheng Xiao’s parents found out that she had been demoted to ground handling.  Her mother was all for taking her back home so she could take the board exam and become a lawyer just like her or a judge just like her father.

Cheng Xiao’s shouted at her rather overbearing mother that she was staying put and she will fly again one day.

Poor Cheng Xiao was really not having a good time at work though she was good at it and getting used to being a check-in girl.

But she was abused by an irate passenger and threw water over her face.  This was really too much.  Nanting was there to prevent the passenger from doing any more harm.  She called the airport police to arrest the man.

Episode 10

Though Nanting really dotes on her, it took Ni Zhan to make her realised that Nanting was not her enemy.

The person who had her transferred to Ground Handling was Director Jiang.

Ni Zhan was going on a business trip with CEO Xu.  Ni Zhan made a point to tell CEO Xu that the girl at the checking desk was the pilot from the Freight Department.

CEO Xu was surprised to learn about it and later asked Director Jiang who was on the same flight why a pilot is working in Ground Handling where she could not learn anything about flying a plane.

Director Jiang knew that he lost so he said he will transfer Cheng Xiao to Passenger Flight in the next couple of days.

Episode 11

Cheng Xiao was livid when she found out that her mother had listed her new apartment for sale.

Mr Landlord had become Cheng Xiao’s agony aunt.

Cheng Xiao was in an important flight with Captain Jiang.  But it went wrong when they encountered another aeroplane which had a break failure on the runway while landing.

Cheng Xiao had an accident while talking with a drunk passenger.

The passenger got out of the plane leaving Cheng Xiao alone, and collapsed on the floor.

Nanting noticed the situation and broke protocol to go up the plane to check on Cheng Xiao.  He then carried her down the plane and they had been together from the ambulance to the hospital as she would not let him go.

This was noticed by a sad Yuheng.

Episode 15

Cheng Xiao was making Nanting face up the fact that he was really into her.  He is resisting that began thinking why he was partial towards her.

Meanwhile, Cheng Xiao forced Xia Zhi to report that she had a mistake.  She did not check the toilet properly for any passengers still onboard before she left the plane.

I must say I don’t like Cheng Xiao’s character.  She knew that Yuheng has feelings for Nanting but she still goes for him even in front of the girl.  Where is sisterhood?  She is the type to sleep with your husband🤣🤣🤣 if she fancied him enough!

It is not really cute or beguiling.  It is scary.

Episode 16

Cheng Xiao was in trouble yet again.  She was so sure she was right but Captain Jiang still has the edge.

Because of it, she got suspended pending investigation.

Xia Zhi is no better.  She was upset with Cheng Xiao because she almost lost her job after she was pressured into reporting her mistake.

Meanwhile, Cheng Xiao would not stop telling Nanting that she was special to him because he disobeyed rule to save her.

This really bothered Nanting so he went to ask his mentor, Captain Xie about the situation.

Captain Xie said that it was always in Nanting nature to take extra responsibility for his student so it was expected of him.

Captain Xie then mentioned Nanting relationship’s with Yuheng.  The Captain advised that it was better for Nanting to make it clear to Yuheng what he really feels for her sooner rather than later.

Episode 17

Cheng Xiao is in so much trouble.  An idol was hurt during the last flight she did with Captain Jiang and solely blamed Cheng Xiao who turned the plane rather than breaking as Captain Jiang said.  Though, she did not really go over his order because she turn the plane instinctively at the same time she was being ordered to break.

Anyway, Yuheng is such a good soul really and fearfully confessed to Nanting that the idol refused to wear a seatbelt during the descending flight.

Nanting asked Yuheng is she can remember anyone who can attest to what happened.  Yuheng thought of a slimy platinum holder, Mr Wei.

Yuheng contacted Mr Wei who asked to meet at a hotel.  Thank goodness, Yuheng had the presence of mind to bring Xia Zhi along to the hotel because Mr Wei was very frisky.  He did promise to help but he had many conditions.

Talking about being frisky, Cheng Xiao has sex and love on her mind rather than the big problem she was in the middle of.

Someone leaked her information online, including her address.  Finally, Nanting realised that Cheng Xiao is his tenant.

At that precise time, Cheng Xiao called her landlord to say that she had a power cut and that could he send maintenance to fix the problem.  While waiting, Cheng Xiao went to see the wiring herself and noticed that it had been purposely cut but then she was surprised to see Nanting in her building.  She twigged that he is her landlord or the son of her landlord.  She flirted and asked him what he thinks of her and just seducing him.

Poor Nanting was nonplussed.

Seriously, this drama is so misogynistic.  It seems to imply that women had only sex on the brain and that they are also timid.

That is why when the number one misogynist, Captain Jiang proposed that they not recruit female pilots for next year, you sort of half-agree with him based on how Cheng Xiao had been behaving.  Going from one blunder to another!🤣🤣🤣

Episode 18

Cheng Xiao’s seduction worked on Nanting.  He can’t sleep thinking about her forwardness.

During the investigation review, it was found that Cheng Xiao did not violate any rule.

Captain Jiang would not let it go though so he mentioned the negative publicity towards the company of the injured idol during the flight.

But Chief Flight attendant Xie was there to explain that the passenger was not wearing a seatbelt.  He refused to wear a seatbelt and there was a witness to it.

This completely exonerated Cheng Xiao who was so madly happy when she was commended by `President Xu and told that she will feature in their magazine.

She was over the moon so when she was walking out with Nanting, she can’t help but flirt with him mercilessly again.

And now this is what she does, half stalking him.  She even ‘borrowed’ his flight log book and started creating a map of all his travels.

Cheng Xiao invited the people who had helped her to dinner.

Nanting was surprised to see Ni Zhan.  He realised that his best friend might have. bit of a crush on Cheng Xiao.

But then Cheng Xiao was making it obvious that she was territorial towards Nanting that the shy Yuheng can only retreat.

Episode 19

President Xu tasks Nanting with the research on female pilot recruitment. Cheng Xiao immediately volunteered herself to help Nanting and Song Song with the research and would not take no for an answer.

The three worked really hard but still, Captain Jiang was able to pull their report apart with mere statistics from airlines that 90% would not employ female pilots.

Cheng Xiao has an idea.  She said that they need to go around the issue by making a fait accompli of going national and using the media to encourage female pilots with their merits.

Xia Zhi had been recruited by the press office at Louzhou Airline to be a part-timer where she could Livestream the airline life.

Episode 20

Nanting guested on a show which went viral talking about professions and gender bias.

Still, Captain Jiang was a step ahead.  He already published the recruitment notification.

But then, Cheng Xiao decided to lend a hand by going straight to President Xu and showed him how popular Nanting’s talk was online.

President Xu had always been a progressive CEO.  He wanted to lead and be a force to be reckoned with in Aviation so he asked for a meeting.

Captain Jiang was surprised to see Nanting at the meeting as he was no longer an official at Luzhou.

President Xu then arrived and promptly said that they should recruit more women pilots for next year and that the recruitment notice should be recalled and rewritten. The President was so happy with Nanting he announced that Nanting will be reinstated as a Deputy Director of the Flight Department.

The happiest of these outcomes was Cheng Xiao.  She was so happy she ordered Nanting to take her to dinner.  They are having their first date, which Nanting was not aware of at first.

Episode 21

Cheng Xiao and Nanting had their dinner date.  It was all convivial but on their way home, they saw Yuheng waiting for Nanting.

So Cheng Xiao invited Nanting and Yuheng to her apartment for some tea.

It was awkward Yuheng went to leave immediately taking Nanting with her which frustrated Cheng Xiao.

Nanting made it clear to Yuheng that he only thinks of her as his sister.

Poor Cheng Xiao was left fulminating with jealousy.  The next day, she snubbed Nanting and used poor Ni Zhan to make him jealous.

Nanting was jealous.

Seriously, this drama does not bode well for a female pilot. She is way too emotional, her heart is always on her sleeves; playing mind games.

Meanwhile, Ni Zhan was the perfect man to babysit a parrot because he was so mechanically inclined he sorted out Cheng Xiao’s appliances.  Hope Ni Zhan has a beautiful ending because he deserves it.

Episode 22

Cheng Xiao was in full-on jealous mode after seeing a photo of Yuheng with Nanting and his mother.

She pretended later in front of Nanting that she did not care.  She was so carefree, she was laughing like a banshee at something on her mobile which surprised both Nanting and Song Song. And then Cheng Xiao would fly out of the handle the next.

This drama is not really a good advertisement for female pilots as far as Cheng Xiao is the inspiration.  She was too controlled by her emotions.

Song Song told Nanting that Cheng Xiao was throwing a tantrum because of the photo Yuheng posted on her Moments.

Nanting called Yuheng telling her not to post any more personal photos.

Meanwhile, Song Song was upset when he smelled the perfume he gave Yuheng on Xia Zhi.  Xia Zhi said that Yuheng gave it to her.  Song Song asked for the perfume back.

Xia Zhi gave it back readily but Song Song said he was going to throw it.  Xia Zhi tried to grab it back from him but she was sprayed on the eyes with it.

Song Song was so worried but Xia Zhi said that he had to buy her a new perfume.

Song Song, Nanting and Cheng Xiao were just leaving the aircraft when then saw Yuheng hanging back rather nervously.  It turned out that she was being harassed by Mr Wei, the platinum customer.

Song Song told Yuheng to pretend that she has a boyfriend already, hoping that when they saw Mr Wei who was waiting.  Yuheng told Mr Wei that she has a boyfriend and then clutched Nanting’s arms.  Song Song was disappointed that she did not think of using him.  Cheng Xiao was jealous but did get over it seeing that Yuheng was seriously frightened.

Cheng Xiao was really pushing for a relationship with Nanting but he was too reticent. However Nanting is mellowing which was noticed by Ni Zhan who was upset because he has a crush on Cheng Xiao.

Episode 23

Luzhou Airline was doing its bit in distributing relief goods to those in the disaster areas. The drive was led by Nanting and `Ni Zhan.  Xia Zhi was documenting the whole thing.

The situation made Ni Zhan remember his own sorry childhood experience during a flood.

Cheng Xiao can’t help having a quick flirt with Nanting which was caught on camera by Xia Zhi and seen by Ni Zhan which made him a little sad.

Xia Zhi finally twigged and told Song Song not to mention that Gu Nantiing likes Cheng Xiao to Yuheng.

The team entertained the children at the elementary school.  The team got as much entertainment as the children which only goes to show that happiness is a choice.

Their situation got more dramatic when the pregnant school teacher started having stomach pains but she told them that she was ok but Zhao Lei, one of the children had gone to the mountains to get more firewood.  unfortunately, he was a victim of earth tremors and got trapped.

Cheng Xiao went to get the boy but she fell. Nanting went to rescue her but she seduced him nonstop with her eyes, forgetting that they were there to rescue the boy. Get a room, you two.  Seriously!!!🤣🤣🤣

The boy was finally rescued by the most unlikely hero, Mr Jiang’s brother-in-law.

Episode 24

Cheng Xiao slept next to Nanting in their makeshift sleeping quarters.  Next to Nanting was Ni Zhan who saw Nanting tenderly touching the sleeping Cheng Xiao’s face.

In the morning, Ni Zhan confessed to Nanting that he likes Cheng Xiao.  He asked Nanting if he has feeling for Cheng Xiao himself.  Nanting denied that he was into Cheng Xiao.

Aww, it looks like his loyalty to Ni Zhan was stronger than his feelings for Cheng Xiao.

Cheng Xiao thought that her relationship with Nanting had become deeper but instead found that Nanting was colder than ever therefore their return flight was uncomfortable for everyone at the cockpit.

The relationship between Nanting and Cheng Xiao is at an all time low after she confessed to him that she likes him.  He apologised for misunderstanding him because the feeling is not mutual.  He told her that he was never into her even for a second.

Before of this, when Cheng Xiao was informed by Nanting that she was selected to be a captain, it was a bit of anti-climax for her.

Episode 25

It was the first time that Cheng Xiao flies as the captain but it was not a peaceful one.

Qi Yu, one of the stewardesses refused to help a passenger lift her heavy bag to the overhead compartment.  But Xia Zhi help the passenger instead with Yuheng.  But the bag slid on Xia Zhi’s fingers which bruised badly.

Yuheng had to report Qi Yu who then got told off by Cheng Xiao.

But then after the flight, Xia Zhi showed Cheng Xiao was there had been nasty rumours that Cheng Xiao seduced Nanting who was already engaged to another fight stewardess and also she had her hooks on Ni Zhan.

Nanting tried to comfort Cheng Xiao who told him that she does not really understand him anynore.

During the meeting of the crews, Captain Jiang mentioned the salacious rumour regarding a pilot at his command and he announced that he will have it investigated thoroughly as rumours like that should not be allowed to fester and bring down the morale and the reputation of the flight department.

Cheng Xiao bravely stood up and said that she was the pilot in question.  She said that someone who has a biff on her was cowardly spreading this rumour but if that person does not delete the rumour online, she will be taking legal action.  She then told everyone that she does not live with Mr Gu. She had her own apartment that she had been renting since she was a freight pilot.  It was only three months ago that she found out that her apartment was owned by Mr Gu’s mother.  She said too that all her accomplishment was through her sheer hard work and showed them her excellent transcript of record. Then finally, she admitted that she confessed her feelings to Mr Gu but he declined to accept it.

Nanting was lonelier than ever after Cheng Xiao decided to move out.  Captain Xie, his mentor told him that Cheng Xiao is a good girl but if Nanting was really undecided about her then he had to let her go and not keep her hanging on.

Cheng Xiao was prepared to move into her half-renovated apartment but when she went to visit it, she found her architect doing last-minute touch-up.  Apparently, her father contacted him and told him to proceed with the renovation according to the blueprint.  Cheng Xiao called her father, who was always on her side.

Episode 26

Cheng Xiao moved out of Nanting’s mother’s apartment.  Nanting was very sad about it.  Yuheng wanted to move to the apartment but Nanting vetoed it.

Anyway, Cheng Xiao was flying but her first officer had diarrhoea so Nanting volunteered as a replacement. As per usual, there is always a problem when they fly together.

Cheng Xiao was rather friendly with the ground maintenance and Nanting was jealous about it so when Wang Fan made an accidental mistake, Nanting could not be dissuaded from officially reporting it.

Wang Fan actually fell on the electric tubing which dislodged the heavy socket right into his foot. The plane went in darkness which alarmed the passenger despite the light coming back soon enough.

Ni Zhan was on the scene and asked Nanting not to report but it was too late.  Ni Zhan was not amused.  He had to take Wang Fan to the hospital for immediate surgery for fractured foot.  Because he was reported, he will be recovering for three months with half pay and possible sacking.  Poor Mr Wang.

But this drama does put fear in me of flying.  What if the pilots are having love problems?!!! OMG
