Episode 1
Blurb: Darong is fairly a new county. Established just two generations ago. Unfortunately, it is currently besieged by many problems, one of which comes from a natural disaster like the flooding of the Yellow River.
Because of its calamitous current situation, it became a country of interest from many usurpers. The Central Government’s influence in Darong is getting weaker and the county coppers are ebbing low rapidly.
As a last resort, the Emperor sent an envoy to arrange a marriage of the Princess to the heir of the Gu Family, who is the richest clan in Jiangnan.
The Gu were rejoicing when they heard that the envoy traveling to Jaingnan was scuppered from their journey by the inclement weather.
Meanwhile, the Gu heir, Gu Jui Si had a chance to meet Liu Yu Ru, the legitimate daughter of the Liu Family.
But Liu Yu Ru has a Cinderella life. Her father married his concubine who he doted on so much that he had cast away his sickly first wife and daughter from their legal position.
Yu Ru had become the maid of his stepmother and stepsisters with her father’s connivance because he is under the thumb of his concubine/wife.
Yu Ru’s only hope of getting out of the suffocating environment was to marry her childhood sweetheart, Ye Shi An.
Episode 2
Yu Ru was in the ancient Sephora shop looking for foundation and rouge to cover the slap mark on her face when Gu Jui Si decided to toy with her. He announced that he would buy everything inside the shop for her because he wanted to marry and be the one woman for his lifetime.
YuRu was so embarrassed and silently begged him to stop. He finally noticed that she was so uncomfortable but it was too late.
A Gu guard heard everything and quickly went back to the Gu Mansion and told Lady Jiang, Gu Jui Si’s mother that her son had just announced that he wanted to marry the love of his life, Liu Yu Ru.
Lady Jiang was concerned about a wedding to a princess and she knows that Gu Jui Si will suffer from the marriage. She and her husband had always promised Gu Jui Si that he can marry his dream girl.
So a love match between Gu Jui Si and Liu Yu Ru seemed heaven-sent.
So she immediately compiled a dowry list and went to the Liu Residence where she agreed on a marriage between the families with the greedy Concubine Zhang.
Old Madame Ye was upset about the marriage because she had already promised a marriage between her grandson, Ye Shi An to Liu Yu Ru. Her granddaughter who is Yu Ru’s best friend begged her Old Madame Ye to do something.
Madame Du, Old Madame Ye’s lady in waiting told Ye Yun that it was impossible to stop the wedding because Ye Yun is actually the first choice for Gu Jui Si. So if they stop the wedding, Ye Yun had to marry Gu Jui Si.
So the wedding between Gu JuiSi and Yu Ru was arranged for the next day. It was a good thing too for Gu JuiSi because Lord Liang’s envoy who has a permit from the Emperor had arrived to discuss the wedding of the princess. But Lady Jiang said that Gu Jui Si was already taken and set to marry soon.
Liu Yu Ru was resigned to her fate and was just hoping that Gu Jiu Si will be reasonable.
It was the wedding day. I have to admit, Song Yi as Yu Ru makes a beautiful bride. The ceremony had started, the bride had been presented by the groom…

Episode 3
Gu Jui Si made everyone but he did turn up eventually after putting everyone on tenterhooks.
The wedding was done and he thought that was the end of the farce but his father told him that he had to consummate the marriage.
We went to the wedding chamber and found Yu Ru still holding the ceremonial fan to hide her face, He told her to not bother with the tradition because they were both not into the marriage. He then told her that he will certainly make her rich and would want for nothing after the divorce.
YuRu was shocked. She did not expect a divorce, especially not on their wedding night. He told her that she was not his type. She was too conservative. He wanted someone who is free-spirited and who would travel the world with him and support him in every way. He can’t see her doing this for him.
Poor YuRu started sobbing which only made Gu Jui Si want to leave more.
Episode 4
The marriage was not consummated because Gu Jui Si jumped out of the window and went straight to the brothel to meet his friends.
