Episode 1
A good strong first episode.
Halan, Northeast 1997
Drugs is becoming a prevalent problem in Halan. As such,there was no specific unit in the police force in Halan to deal with the growing issue.
Shi Zheng Bei of the Major Crime Unit, was tasked to establish drug enforcement unit. He was reluctant at first as he likes working at the Major Crime Division but he realised that there was really a narcotic situation to be dealt with. Their last case was about drugs.
He started to form his unit with Zhao Xiao Guang, Ding Guo Zhu and Zhang Xue Yao, the Mad Dog Yao.
The Chief ordered him to fly to Huazhou to convince Dr Gu to join the team. They need someone who is good with forensic and research. It was Dr Gu, who the team thought that was some sort of an old absent-minded professor, who determined what drugs was used on their narcotic case.
Apparently, drugs are classified into plant based such as Opium, Marijuana and Heroin while Ecstasy and Meth are synthetic.
It was 1997, at that time, the Halan police force was finding it hard to determine the drug Meth as their system was not sophisticated enough to ascertain the presence of Meth.
So reluctantly Zheng Bei flew to Huazhou. He met Dr Gu which was a surprise because the man is really young.
Dr Gu declined the offer to work in Halan because he wanted to remain in the university where he planned to create a laboratory.
Episode 2
Zheng Bei rather gleefully reported to the Chief that Dr Gu rejected the offer to work in Halan. The Chief told Zheng Bei to convince Dr Gu otherwise Zheng Bei should not bother to come back.
Zheng Bei did his best to persuade Dr Gu to change his mind. He left the folder of their latest case in Halan to Dr Gu.
Dr Gu saw the file and finally changed his mind. It was because his sister recently died of drug overdose.
