Beef Tapa (Filipino Version)
I thought it was rather complicated to make homemade beef tapa. But I found a recipe that is so simple that it can be done so easily and still yield maximum taste.
For us Filipinos, beef tapa is a very welcome dish for breakfast eaten with fried rice, fried egg and fresh chopped tomatoes. Yummy.
Below is the recipe of this Asian inspired Hispanic dish. Enjoy!
Ingredients
- 2½ lbs. thinly sliced beef
- 1 head garlic, peeled and crushed
- 1 tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 tsp. sugar
- ¼ cup vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 tbsp. peppercorn, crushed
- 1 tbsp. patis (fish sauce)
- oil, for frying
|
Method of Preparation:
- In a bowl, combine all ingredients except oil.
- Marinate beef for at least 3 hours but preferably overnight.
- For a more authentic tapa, dry under direct sunlight. (optional)
- Fry in a small amount of oil.
- Serve with salad or boiled rice or fried rice.
