St Apollonia was a virgin martyr.

St Apollonia holds a pair of pliers;   legend has it that the virginal Apollonia refused to denounce her Christian faith and was tortured by having her teeth plucked out one by one by a pair of pliers.  Extraction without anaesthetics.
