I love this tongue twister since I was a little girl and that was quite some time ago!!! hihihi I used to practise this all the time. I love it.
Betty Botter’s Better Batter
Betty Botter had some butter,
“But,” she said, “this butter’s bitter.
If I bake this bitter butter,
It would make my batter bitter.
But a bit of better butter,
That would make my batter better.”
So she bought a bit of butter –
Better than her bitter butter –
And she baked it in her batter;
And the batter was not bitter.
So ’twas better Betty Botter
Bought a bit of better butter.

This is the version we did at school:
Betty Botter bought a bit of butter,
“But,” she said, “This butter’s bitter!
If I put it in my batter,
It will make my batter bitter!
But a bit of better butter will make my batter better.”
So Betty Botter bought a bit of better butter,
And she put it in her batter, and her batter was not bitter!
So ’twas better Betty Botter bought a bit of better butter.

A canner, exceedingly canny,
One morning remarked to his granny,
“A canner can can
Anything that he can;
But a canner can’t can a can, can he?”
—Carolyn Wells.
I heard another version of this. It was much simpler.
