Pentecost – End of Easter

Today is an important day in the Christian faith.

This day is known as the Pentecost that marks the end of the Easter period.

It is some kind of jubilee, 50 days after Easter and Christ’s death on the cross and His resurrection and ascension into heaven. This day is also when the Holy Spirit came down from heaven to fill the original disciples. Imbued them with the “gift of tongue” for them to carry Jesus’ ministry to the whole world.

“Receive the Holy Spirit.
For those whose sins you forgive,
they are forgiven;
for those who sins you retain, they are retained.”

This is the Gospel of the Lord.
(John 20. 19-23)
