When you have invested so much in a relationship and then all of a sudden it ends. It can be really traumatic to get over it. Sometimes you can’t get over it and pine forever a la Miss Havisham of Charles Dickens’ Great Expectation. Miss Havisham was jilted on her wedding day. She was so traumatised that she decided to wear her wedding dress for the rest of her life.
But that is an extreme. You can get over a break-up. Just give it time or read through some quotes from the famous and the infamous. 🙂
