I want one of these. I would like to cook bibingka in the garden. I could even use this to cook barbecue and even to roast a chicken.  You are only constraint by your imagination with what you can cook with the above clay ovens.

My sister and I used to look for skinny dried twigs to precipitate the lighting of logs that my father had chopped for the fire. It was quite hard work to begin with but you get used to it and develop a technique until it becomes as easy as if you were just switching most electric/gas cookers.

As the food start to cook, some of the fire are doused down or the burning embers are pulled back from under the three prongs into the wider bottom part of the clay oven (see above clay stove from Crisologo Musuem).   The above photo shows exact replica of our stove.  LOL This would prevent burning of the food. When too much ash have gathered, you just scoop them out and get rid.

  1. I want to get one also, for my mother. She talks about these clay pots with nostalgia, just like you did! I wasn’t able to find one online :(. All well, back to looking. All the best!
