Lani Misalucha busking in Manila – From Vegas to Manila
Premier Filipina chanteuse, Lani Misalucha conducted a social experiment, involving busking near the Manila City Hall. She wanted to find out what people, who hear her singing, would do. Would they stop and listen? Would they just go about with their normal schedule unmindful of the anonymous busker’s obvious talent?!!!
Lani Misalucha was dressed very differently from her usual Las Vegas garb. She wore a simple long sleeves white shirt, a skirt and scarf with minimal make-up, down-playing her utter gorgeousness! She finished off her simple attire with a pair of black sun glasses.
Lani said that her experiment was two-fold. She found out that busking in some dusty, hot pavement was far from being ideal. She met a blind couple, Ben and Flor, who have been doing the busking since they were single, a long time ago. They regularly do their busking from morning till night.
Well from the video, (why is the video sounded like Lani was doing a lip synch?) it proved that good music will stop anyone on their stride, on their tracks to listen. People like good music, they like to be entertained and some would even donate a few pesos for the privilege.
Below is Lani Misalucha’s Las Vegas performance. Apparently, Lani has a huge fanbase in Las Vegas that she is now as big as Celine Dion.
Not surprising really, Lani is an accomplished singer!
The Philippines is renowned for producing excellent singers both amateur and professional :).
You will find in many homes, bars, clubs, Churches, parties, get-together, that many Filipinos singing tunefully and dancing so rhythmically, a joy to hear and see. Many will also pick up a guitar and play well & add to the occasion.
