Aren’t these flowers pretty?!!!
I love vases of flowers in the house. It makes the house cozy and lived in as well as welcoming.
Flowers make me smile in happiness. I especially like scented flowers, the lilies are good and roses.
One thing about having a regular supply of cut flowers is that they can be expensive. So we need to know how to keep them longer.
Let’s save the flowers.
How to Look After a Vase of Flowers
- As soon as you get the flowers home, trimmed the stems in an angle.
- Ensure that the vase is perfectly clean.
- And keep the water clean. It would be useful if you can add a few drops of bleach into the water to doubly ensure that the water is really clean and stop the flower stems to rot quickly.
- If you find that the flowers are wilting sooner, especially during summer or when the radiators are in full force, add a few ice-cubes into the vase.
- Use the plant food attached to the cellophane for the flowers. If you are lucky enough to be able to harvest some flowers from your garden, then add a tbsp of sugar to the water in your vase.
A rose, in water, to its stem
Decoys a myriad beads of air;
And, lovely with the light on them
Gives even its thorns their share
