Vilma Santos, another much-loved icon of the Philippines’ Film and Television arts, has been made a laughing-stock courtesy of an Aquino.
It all started because of kindness. Vilma Santos generously sent Kris Aquino some ensaymada to cheer her up because Kris, sister of the president of the Philippines, has been thwarted in her pursuit of a love life… once again!
This was really a lovely gesture from Vilma, known in showbiz as the Star for all Season, a sobriquet earned due to the longevity of her reign and her popularity in various genres of movies and films. Vilma, however, is more active now in politics. She is the Governor of Batangas and quite successful too in this current endeavor.
For some reason, Kris’s naiveté knows no bounds. Kris, knowing perfectly well that the note enclosed with the generous gift was grammatically challenged and there was a truly spelling mistake as well, took it upon herself to post the card online for people to see. Kris did not for one second think it would be bad that a high-ranking politician in the Philippines can’t spell or write grammatically correct sentences.
If only Kris exercised some common sense and just wrote back to say thank you. But life nowadays is digitally diarised to its very limit. 🙁
