Pork With Creamy Mushroom Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 4 pork chops, preferably boneless
  • salt
  • ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup white wine (leftover white wine can me put in ice-cube trays and use for recipes like this one)
  • 1 small tub double cream
  • 25g butter + 1 tsp of cooking oil or olive oil
  • 200g mushrooms, sliced

Method of Preparation:

  1. Using a large frying pan or a wok melt the butter, adding to it a teaspoon of oil to prevent the butter from burning, over medium heat.
  2. Pat the pork chops with enough salt and pepper.
  3. Put the chops in the frying pan and fry for at least a couple of minutes each side or until they are golden brown all over.
  4. Pour in wine and continue cooking for 6-10 minutes.
  5. Remove chops from pan with a slotted spoon.
  6. Pour cream into the same pan and then add mushrooms. Increase heat to high; cook for 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
  7. Return chops to pan and spoon in the creamy sauce on them.
  8. Serve with some bean salad (see photo above) and some freshly boiled rice.
