Pork With Creamy Mushroom Sauce
Ingredients:
- 4 pork chops, preferably boneless
- salt
- ground black pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup white wine (leftover white wine can me put in ice-cube trays and use for recipes like this one)
- 1 small tub double cream
- 25g butter + 1 tsp of cooking oil or olive oil
- 200g mushrooms, sliced
Method of Preparation:
- Using a large frying pan or a wok melt the butter, adding to it a teaspoon of oil to prevent the butter from burning, over medium heat.
- Pat the pork chops with enough salt and pepper.
- Put the chops in the frying pan and fry for at least a couple of minutes each side or until they are golden brown all over.
- Pour in wine and continue cooking for 6-10 minutes.
- Remove chops from pan with a slotted spoon.
- Pour cream into the same pan and then add mushrooms. Increase heat to high; cook for 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Return chops to pan and spoon in the creamy sauce on them.
- Serve with some bean salad (see photo above) and some freshly boiled rice.
