In Context: A superstar singer got sucked in into a parallel universe after a car accident.  He then met a young female reporter as well as his jolly doppelganger.

Episode 1

It was 14 February 2019, Cheng Hao had just won the Best Singer award in China.  He is currently the most popular and much-adored singer.

The post-award show, Cheng Hao was driving along Bin Jiang Tunnel when a long-predicted comet by NASA was free-falling into the earth.

The comet was producing intense electromagnetism which engulfed the Bin Jiang Tunnel causing Cheng Hao to collide with another car driven by a woman.

Cheng Hao was trying to make a call on his mobile phone to the emergency department but he did not notice that his phone showed that it was 2017.  He then suddenly felt his heart aching that he collapsed on the ground.

He woke up in the hospital.  His immediate thought was to inquire about the woman driver whose car he hit.

The doctor said that there was no woman brought in from the scene of the accident.

Cheng Hao was puzzled and forced himself to get out of the bed and out of the hospital room. He then saw his assistant looking all sophisticated and rather different.

He was relieved to find her but Zou Ling treated him as some weirdo.  She did not know him at all.

He was calling the police about the accident and they too confirmed the lack of accident at Bin Jiang Tunnel.

He then quickly realised that he might have gone back in time as it was 2017 instead of 2019.

Zou Ling came back to see him.  She apologised to him for being so abrupt.  She asked him if wanted to become a celebrity as he has got the looks, being so handsome.

She trained him and was pleasantly surprised that he was so talented and second-guessing everything, every move.

Two years passed on…

Cheng Hao was now a popular celebrity.  Fans were screaming for him everywhere he went.

He was due to go to a recording studio or something when he noticed someone looking exactly like him.

He realised that he did not travel in time, he was in a parallel space.

Against advice from his manager, Zou Ling, he got out of the car to look for the guy but instead, he walked in straight to a heaving throng of over-excited fans.

This was just too much for him, he collapsed.

He was immediately taken to the hospital.

Fans were patiently waiting at the doorway of the hospital.  One of these avid fans was a young reporter, Lin Xiao Xiao.

She got a call from her handler saying that the best spot to catch their target celebrity is through the backdoor.

And right on cue, Cheng Hao got out of the back door straight into his waiting car.

Xiao Xiao was so overwhelmed with excitement she forgot to take pictures.

Her handler and Xiao Xiao followed Cheng Hao.

After a few minutes of chase, Cheng Hao stopped.

Xiao Xiao got out and was telling him she was not a stalker but his number one fan.

While she was talking Cheng Hao felt his heart aching and fainted there and then.

Xiao Xiao was so alarmed, she did not know what to do.  She thought she should do a CPR.

She put her hands bashfully on his precious chest telling him that she was not being naughty but helping him.  No matter how much she pressed on his chest, he was not waking up.

Xiao Xiao then thought that perhaps a mouth to mouth resuscitation was in order.  This was the cutest.

She was pouting her lips getting ready to lock them in his mouth when he suddenly pushed her face away.

Again she apologised to him.

He asked her that as his number one fan, can she hush up the situation he was currently in?

Xiao Xiao agreed immediately.

Episode 2

Xiao Xiao woke up in bed with Cheng Hao but it was not really Cheng Hao but Lohong Jian, the singer’s look-alike.

Apparently, Xiao Xiao and Lohong Jian knew each other very well and were quite chummy in a platonic way.

Lo Hong Jian had told Xiao Xiao that he had been having a string of bad luck.  It started two years ago. He had just finished his script on his laptop when there was a power surge causing a power failure.  He then bumped his head in the dark and ended up in the hospital.  When he got better, he had just decided to retrieve his script from his laptop when his laptop was snatched from him.

He went to a shaman, who advised him to change his name and date of birth.  From Hao Cheng, he had renamed himself Lo Hong Jian.

Lo Hong Jian wanted to borrow money from Xiao Xiao, who actually did not have the money.  Lo Hong Jian made her feel guilty of not helping him so she was forced to give him her credit card.

Cheng Hao was supposed to shoot a music video in Hong Kong but he requested that they should do it in Hainan instead.

He found out that Lohong Jian had just bought a train ticket to Hainan.

Meanwhile, Xiao Xiao had been tasked to be the onsite reporter as well as assistant to Xu Houmei, who was shooting the video with Cheng Hao.

Xu Houmei was the niece of the news/tabloid agency that Xiao Xiao works for.  Apparently this was Houmei last chance to stardom.  They had tried everything to make her famous but nothing works.  It is now down to Xiao Xiao to create juicy news for Houmei to make it big.

As soon as Xiao Xiao got to Hainan she saw Lo Hong Jian immediately.  She was hunting him for having maxed out her credit card.

But he got away and hid in the men’s dressing room.  As she can’t wait for him any longer, she entered the men’s room and saw a partially naked Cheng Hao.  She slipped and crashed into him holding on his towel.  Now she saw him completely naked.

Xiao Xiao was on paparazzi duty.  Her charge, Houmei, forced herself into Cheng Hao hotel room.  Somehow Xiao Xiao was reluctant to take a photo as she thought Houmei is defiling her idol.

Anyway, she noticed that there was another paparazzi taking photos.

She went to Cheng Hao to warm him but instead they ended up falling face to face on the floor.

Episode 3

After a long eye to eye and stopped short of kissing, Cheng Hao helped her to get up, while Xiao Xiao was telling him that she was his number fan and that she just wanted to close his curtains as there was another paparazzi trying to take his photo.

Cheng Hao took her sd card from her camera and told her to leave.

Cheng Hao was feeling rather guilty about Lo Hong Jian.  He instinctively knew that the bad luck Hongjian was getting was because of him surfacing in Hongjian’s time and space.

To sort of makeup for Hongjian’s surfeit of bad luck, he hired him to pretend as him.  For two million the materialistic Hongjian agreed.

The fans can’t tell that Hongjian was a fake Cheng Hao but Xiao Xiao was able to tell immediately.

Episode 4

Hongjian is now living as Cheng Hao’s and vice versa.

The president of Cheng Hao fans club kidnapped Cheng Hao thinking that he was Hongjian, who was giving the real Cheng Hao a bad name, as the real Hongjian was a bit of a con-man and owed money to a lot of girls.

The President of the fans club brought Cheng Hao to XiaoXiao’s apartment as Hongjian owed her the most money.

But just one look at Cheng Hao, Xiao Xiao knew that the fan club leader got the wrong person.

Before Xiao Xiao could enlighten the FC leader. Cheng Hao went down on his knees begging Xiao Xiao to be merciful and that he would pay all the monies he owed her immediately.

Xiao Xiao understood what he was really saying.  He did not want her to reveal who he really was.

As the girls and women Hongjian owed money to had started patrolling their area, Xiao Xiao advised Cheng Hao to stay with her for the night.

He slept in her bedroom and her on the sofa in the living room, but at dead of night after going to the bathroom the half-asleep Xiao Xiao climbed into her bed where Cheng Hao was asleep.

He woke up and saw that she was in bed with him.

In his frustration, he got up and went for a walk at the apartment building lobby.

Xiao Xiao found him there but he collapsed clutching his heart.

Dragging him all the way back to the bedroom, she gave him a few bruises especially on his head.

The pain from the tincture Xiaoxiao was applying to his bruises woke him up form his dream.  He was dreaming of what had occurred two years ago when the comet struck.  He clearly saw the driver of the other car he bumped into.  It was Xiao Xiao.

He was so surprised looking at Xiao Xiao and realising that it was her.

One thing led to another, she fell back on the bed and him on top of her.

Will they kiss?

Meanwhile, Hongjian was having the time of his life.  He can’t believe his good fortune living in the lap of luxury as Cheng Hao.

Episode 5 & 6

Xiao Xiao realised that the man who was about to kiss her was her super idol.  So she told him that she was not going to do anything with him.  She actually apologised for being too forward with him.

Cheng Hao did not know whether to be flattered or not.  Xiao Xiao is a different kind of fan.  She does not take advantage.  He thinks that she may be a clue to his current situation.  He asked her whether she gets all tingly and dreams about him.

Xiao Xiao reassured him that she doesn’t have perverted dreams concerning him. 🙂

Anyway, he told Xiao Xiao that he will be living with her in the meantime.  He will take her bedroom and she sleeps in the settee.

Xiao Xiao was slightly uncomfortable at first but she looked at him and seeing her most beloved idol.

She said he was most welcome to move in.

He said that they have to have some rules and presented her with a contact, which she signed without reading.

She then went into a trance, dreaming of how lovely it would be to be with her idol 24/7.

Cheng Hao had to disturb her reverie to get her attention back.

He told her that part of the contract was religiously obeying everything he said and wanted her to do.

She agreed with alacrity.

He then asked her to go out with him in separate cars.  They ended up in the tunnel.

He instructed her to drive and bump into his car.  He reassured her that he had her car customised for her safety.

Xiao Xiao was very reluctant to do it but Cheng Hao told her if she did not want to do it then he was just going to wait for another car to bump into him.

Xiao Xiao finally agreed and drove into him but at the last moment, she turned her car away from him, hurting herself in the process.

Cheng Hao was sorry and very concerned.  He took her home and looked after her bruised ankle.

Hongjian was taking advantage of his luck, including with women.

When he saw Xumei, he encouraged her to flirt with him which got in the news.

Cheng Hao was not overly bothered but this was not welcomed by his fans.  Xumei was not good enough for Cheng Hao.

During his concert, it was rather stressful for everyone including to Hongjian who cannot really sing.  But miraculously he was rapping, dancing and singing like a dream.

It turned out, the real Cheng Hao had changed places with Hongjian for the concert.  After the song, he felt faint which was noticed by Xiao Xiao who was in the audience.

As soon as he left the stage, Cheng Hao called Xiao Xiao to meet him.  And when they did, he fainted into her arms.

Episode 7

Cheng Hao is getting weaker and weaker.  He had another dream and realised that he was not driving the car which crashed in the tunnel.  He had a driver, Mr Xu, who disappeared.

He later found Mr Xu in an underground room where he was bound and seemed to have been beaten.

Mr Xu said that he was the one sending Cheng Hao the text messages. He said that he found his doppelganger and had used Mr Xu and his knowledge to get rich.

When Cheng Hao asked him what can they do to survive, Mr Xu said that there was only one way to do it and that was to kill their equivalent selves.

Cheng Hao was taken aback.

When he got back at Xiao Xiao’s place he was really depressed and asked Xiao Xiao whether she would still like him if she finds out the truth about him.

Xiao Xiao replied affirmatively that she would always like him.

Meanwhile, Manager Zou Ling had found out that Lu Hongjian had been pretending as Cheng Hao.  She went to find him in the bar, drinking himself silly and quickly confessed that he was a fake.

Afterward, Honjian called Cheng Hao and confessed that he had been found out by Zou Ling, he asked Cheng Hao what should he do.

Lu Hongjian was drunk and was in the middle of the road.  He was going to be run over by a car but Cheng Hao got there and pushed Lu Hongjian away to safety but for some reason, he just stood there waiting for the oncoming car to hit him. But Xiao Xiao suddenly appeared and back hugged him to safety.

Episode 8

Cheng Hao, Xiao Xiao and Lu Hongjian ended up together at Cheng Hao’s luxurious apartment.

Xiao Xiao was contemplating whether Cheng Hao might be gay as he was so into Lu Hongjian’s welfare.

Xiao Xiao was in bed and was having a nightmare.  Her scream was heard by Cheng Hao who came to check on her. She told him that she saw herself dying when she crashed her car in the tunnel.

Seeing how disturbed she looked he told her to not worry as he will protect her.  He then climbed in the bed next to her.

Xiao Xiao was not sure what was going on but why complain?  He’s gorgeous.

Anyway, Cheng Hao said to give him a hug and then slept hugging each other.

He woke up the next morning being assaulted by Lu Hongjian thinking that he was Xiao Xiao.

Xiao Xiao found Cheng Hao astride Lu Hongjian and confirmed to herself that he was really gay. 🙂

Cheng Hao went to see Manager Ling about Hongjian pretending to be him.  He told her that Hongjian was his long lost younger twin brother.

He told his manager that he was leaving the business and to let his brother to continue on as him.

Manager Lin reminded him that they committed fraud, no matter how you look at it.  She then said that he needed to sign his contract which was due for renewal.  He noticed that the contract involved Cheng Hao shadowing Hongjian for 15 years.

Cheng Hao was not happy about this abuse of talent and just walked out.

The vengeful Manager Lin called her press colleagues to break the news that Cheng Hao had his brother pretended as him.

The press was excited about this juicy bit of news but not for long because Chang Hao called an immediate press conference himself to break the news about his brother.

Manager Lin was livid that her trumped card was useless after all. She promised to sue Cheng Hao instead.

Meanwhile, Driver Xu had kidnapped his double and brought him in the same basement that he was locked in.  Driver Xu told Mr Xu that he will be living his life from now on.

Episode 9

Cheng Hao had gone back to his apartment and life as a pop star.

As a promotion, Cheng Hao and management started a ‘One Day with Cheng Hao’ contest for his fans.

Many applied for the contest including Xiao Xiao.  They had to answer questions about Cheng Hao and they had to list down what they would like the day with Cheng Hao would entail.

Xiao Xiao was with the fan club leader when she was doing her answers to the contest.  The leader distracted her and added something on her answer.

Five fans answered the questions correctly.  They the computer randomly selected… yes, Xiao Xiao was the ultimate winner.

On her request of what she wanted to do during her day with Cheng Hao, she wrote 1. Date wearing lover’s clothes (matching) 2. Go to the amusement park. 3. Play roller coaster. 4. Visit the Ocean Park, 5. Take a yacht and have a romantic cruise. 6 Have a Fairy tale date. 7.Kiss with Hao (This was the one added by the fan club leader).

On the day of the date with Cheng Hao, Xiao Xiao did not have anything to wear (as every woman would have experienced the world over).

But she need not have worried because Cheng Hao had prepared a couple sweatshirts.  They had a great time Cheng Hao was a good date, very attentive and caring.

At the end of the day, he took her home and thank him for such a lovely day.

Cheng Hao stopped her from leaving immediately because he said he had not fulfilled her last wish yet which he was willing to do for her.

He was talking about the kiss.

Episode 10

The kiss did not happen not because he did not want to do it.  It was XiaoXiao.  She covered her mouth at the last minute which rather frustrates Cheng Hao.

Driver Xu had become Mr Xu as the CEO of the newsgroup/production company that Xiao Xiao work for.

For some reason, Mr Xu (Driver Xu) was parked in front of Xiao Xiao’s apartment building and saw Xiao Xiao with Cheng Hao.

The next day, he promoted Xiao Xiao as a manager.

Xiao Xiao was feeling a bit wary of Mr Xu as he was all over her, making her uncomfortable.

Meanwhile, Cheng Hao had texted her asking to bring his luggage she left at her house to his place.

Xiao Xiao was excited to see him again.  When she arrived, Cheng Hao invited her to have dinner with him.

She was happy to tuck in but her phone started ringing. It was her boss saying that their big boss had organised a dinner party for her to celebrate her promotion.

Cheng Hao understood that she had to leave immediately despite her not wanting to.  He told her that there will be plenty of times for them in the future.

Cheng Hao gave her a lift to the Japanese restaurant where the party was supposed to be held.  In the room, she found only her boss and Mr Xu.

They forced her to drink alcohol until she felt sick.  Like a genie, Cheng Hao was there to help her home.

He carried her on his back and it was so cute as well.

I don’t know if there was a translation failure but Xiao Xiao invited him to go to the rooftop to blow.  LOL

Mr Xu was interested in Xiao Xiao because he wanted to feel again.  Apparently, he can’t feel but wanted to and Xiao Xiao might be the answer being Cheng Hao’s girlfriend.

As a manager, Xiao Xiao was given more workload, too much in fact that she had to do overtime.

Cheng Hao called to ask her to go on dinner with him but she explained that she was doing overtime and would just order a take-out.

Cheng Hao told her not to order as he will bring her food.  He was driving towards the building where Xiao Xiao worked when she got a photo of her morning meeting with Mr Xu.

He immediately noticed that he was Driver Xu which greatly concerned him.

While she was working, slimy Mr Xu came to see her and started touching her. She runs but Mr Xu was fast and stronger than her.  He pinned her on the desk and about to molest her when Cheng Hao turned up.

He pulled Mr Xu away from Xiao Xiao who was so traumatised that she even pushed Cheng Hao away from her.

Cheng Hao was so annoyed with how Mr Xu reduced Xiao Xiao to that he started beating up Mr Xu.

Episode 11 -12

Poor Xiao Xiao was so traumatised with being on the brink of being assaulted.

Chang Hao gathered her tenderly in his arms and took her out of the building.  He then brought her home and trucked her to bed.

Seeing that Xiao Xiao was still out of it, he stayed and watched over her.

In the morning, she found him gone.  Knowing that she needed to go to work, no matter what, she pulled herself together.

As soon as she got to work, she noticed that her colleagues were puzzled by the presence of Chang Hao gathering Xiao Xiao’s personal possession into a box.  He resigned for her.

When her boss asked what was going on, she told him to advise the other women at work to be careful of their very bad boss.

Chang Hao asked her to move in with him and Lo Hongjian.

Xiao Xiao now works fro Hongjian as his assistant.

He had become a published writer but someone was spreading rumours that he plagiarised his work and he did not write it himself.

Xiao Xiao was a very protective assistant to him.

Chang Hao is playing hot and cold with Xiao Xiao.  He would surprise her with a kiss and then behave as if nothing had happened.

This was because Chang Hao feels that he was melting, disappear altogether soon.  It was unfair to make her expect something that he could give her.

It was a birthday which he forgot until a surprise birthday dinner was prepared for him by Xiao Xiao.  He was very moved with the little horse sculpture that she made him.  He pulled her towards him and gave her a lingering kiss but then he remembered what was happening to him so he walked out on her.

What is the matter with these two, they never get to start their steak dinner, this is the second one that would go to waste. 🙂 🙁

Xiao Xiao was very upset, drinking alcohol all by herself by the pool when Hongjian suddenly appeared.

Hongjian had also been drinking.

He asked Xiao Xiao for a kiss and for a moment she thought he was Chang Hao so she puckered up and he puckered up as well but the real Chang Hao appeared and pulled Xiao Xiao away, telling her not to kiss everyone.

Hongjian woke up the next morning thinking he kissed Xiao Xiao and he was rather happy and excited about it.

Xiao Xiao also just got up and watching Chang Hao looking out from the veranda.

Hongjian said that he enjoyed their kiss last night and that he would like her to be his girlfriend, he is different now, he has got money.

Xiao Xiao said that they did not kiss, it did not happen. She also said that she likes someone else.

Hongjian guessed immediately that she was talking about Chang Hao.  Hongjian was a good sport, he encouraged Xiao Xiao to confess to Chang Hao immediately.

Full of hope and excitement, Xiao Xiao went to look for Chang Hao.  She confessed!  She told him that she likes him.

He said he knew.

She said not that of a fan to her idol.  She likes him as a woman.

Chang Hao asked her why was she confessing?  Did she think he likes her?  Just become they kissed?  He said if he likes all those he kissed then he must like a lot of women.

Poor  Xiao Xiao was totally humiliated.  She was embarrassed and broken-hearted.

Episode 13

Xiao Xiao moved out of Chang Hao’s apartment.

Chang Hao was still jealous that Xiao Xiao had moved on pretty quickly with Hongjian.  He can’t control himself, he followed Hongjian and Xiao Xiao in a hotel.  Chang Hao then barged in in their hotel room but found out that Hongjian was with another girl.

Hong Jian told Chang Hao to find his girl and not to bother him with his own girl.

Xiao Xiao was standing behind Chang Hao, who still wouldn’t change his mind. Poor Xiao Xiao.

Driver Xu’s new status has completely gone into his head that he was going crazy.  He hired someone to kill Chang Hao.

Anyway, Chang Hao gave his final concert.  Xiao Xiao attended because her best friend, the leader of the Chang Hao Fans Club had told her to go with her to the concert as this might be the last time they will see him ever.

The concert was bittersweet.

Afterwards, Chang Hao was walking towards his fans when someone stabbed him.

Xiao Xiao who was in front of him took him in her arms.

In the ambulance, the nurse performing emergency measures including putting on a drip and oxygen.

Chang Hao removed these from him and took Xiao Xiao in his arms and gave her a long passionate kiss.

He then told her that he likes her, he likes her very much.

And then he was unconscious as he remains holding on to Xiao Xiao’s hand.

He woke up all refresh with Xiao Xiao besides him still holding her hand.

Xiao Xiao was unaware at first that he was awake.  She was telling him that she will be a shameless fan.  Even he asked her to leave him, she will not do so.  She will always stay near him.

Chang Hao said I will never do that and then pulled her into his chest.

Chang Hao checked out of the hospital with Xiao Xiao beside him.

He said he wanted to go somewhere quiet.

Xiao Xiao suggested her grandmother’s house!

Episode 14

Xiao Xiao and Chang Hao had a sweet peaceful time in her grandmother’s house which was cut short by news from NASA that a comet was about to fall into Earth.

Chang Hao left Xiao Xiao at her grandmother’s house and went to see where Driver Xu went.

Driver Xu was beating up Mr Xu and was about to kill him when Chang Hao turned up.

He was able to overpower Driver Xu and was helping Mr Xu when Driver Xu got up and struck Chang Hao with a piece of wood in the head.

Next thing Chang Hao knew was that he was at the back of a car driven by Driver Xu, who had killed Mr Xu.

Chang Hao was able to send a text to his assistant and told him where he was.

Xiao Xiao was overcome with worry that she followed Chang Hao to the city and met up with the assistant who took her where Chang Hao was.

They found him by the cliff where Driver Xu had fallen.  The Police turned up.  It looks like though that Driver Xu is not really dead yet.

Episode 15

Chang Hao had decided that whatever limited time he has in this world, he will seize happiness with Xiao Xiao.

Hongjian had become a successful scriptwriter and his movie was being made.

During the press conference of this movie, Chang Hao and Xiao Xiao attended.  Chang Hao then introduced Xiao Xiao as his girlfriend.

For a few days, they were loved up.  He asked her to marry him, he gave her a huge diamond ring, got the wedding attire and then they had their honeymoon, a wedding night.

Despite their happiness, Chang Hao has a mercurial temperament.  He was happy one moment and then he would be troubled the next.

Xiao Xiao was looking at the house when she noticed a door that is ajar.  The door hides a blackboard that had the thoughts of Chang Hao about the parallel world.

At the moment, Chang Hao was with Longjian painstakingly explaining to him that they are not twin brothers but actually one and the same but versions from two parallel worlds.  He then explains about Driver Xu and him and therefore asked Longjian to help out in looking after Xiao Xiao.

Xiao Xiao went to a restaurant with Longjian.

Episode 16 – Final

Longjian got distracted by fans that he did not notice that Driver Xu was pretending to be one of the waiters.  He gave a mug of coffee, which he drugged, to Xiao Xiao.

He then took her away.

The police were curious at what is going on and yet they are totally confused.

Driver Xu called Chang Hao and asking him for a ransom of 10,000,000 for the return of Xiao Xiao.

The police who were listening told him to just agree to the demand.

When Chang Hao went to the meeting point, shadowed by the police, neither Xiao Xiao nor Driver Xu was there.

Chang Hao then realised that he went to the tunnel.

When he got to the tunnel, he crashed his car into Driver Xu’ car killing him instantly.

Meanwhile, Chang Hao managed to stagger out of the car and was walking towards Xiao Xiao when he fell down and then slowly he started disintegrating until he was not there anymore, right before grieving Xiao Xiao’s eyes.

He was suddenly back in the tunnel again but in his own world.  He took his world’s Xiao Xiao out of her car and carried her out.

The next time he woke was in the hospital with Zou Ling looking concernedly before him.  Apparently, he had been missing for two years.

He was glad that he was back but he was also sad that he will probably not see Xiao Xiao again.

But he promised that he will look after the Xiao Xiao in his world as he feels that Xiao Xiao from the other side would feel it.

Xiao Xiao was very sad but now resigned that she will never see chang Hao again.

He left her a letter saying that when she reads the letter he will be gone….

It is a sad ending but there is something uplifting about it because their love is beyond borders.
