Episode 1 – 2

This first episode is very watchable.  How does it compare to the kdama?  I don’t know as I have not seen the Korean version.

Anyway, it all started with Jiang Xia being driven by his father.

They were talking about the loss of their wife/mother and they promised to go to the aquarium as what Jiang Xia’s mother had always wanted to do when a truck plowed into them.

Jiang Xia’s father died but not before begging the driver of the truck to help his son.

The driver panic with the father died.

He does not want to end up in prison so thinking that as there were no witnesses, it would be best if he kills the son as well.

He was just about to kill him when he noticed two schoolgirls, one trying to take photos with a mobile phone at what he was about to do.

He runs after the girls who managed to hide but he shouted at them that he was going to get them if they blab.

The police eventually got the driver.

The subsequent trial was quite a popular one.  The driver was convicted for the death of the father but not on the attempted murder of the child.

The child, Jiang Xia, is now an undergraduate college student and had gained the power to hear what people around him were thinking.  He said that the only way for him to have some peace was being submerged in the ocean.

Jiang Xia could not forget the face of the girl who tried to take photos during the attempted murder all those years ago and who went to court to testify against the driver for attempted murder which sent him to jail for ten years.

Because of her, Jiang Xia is alive.  Because of her, he had fallen in love with an ideal – her.

Her or she is now a lawyer who was doing her first case.  It was not a success.

She got humiliated and pilloried by the press.

Because of it, her position in her law office was very precarious.

The new partner had given her three months to prove herself.

He then gave her a new case to defend,  It was a girl who was being blamed for pushing a classmate from the school building.  Though the classmate did not die, she had broken legs and arms.

The parents of the girl were suing her client for compensation.

Jiang Xia told her that the client is really innocent despite a witness was saying otherwise.

But the main witness the ‘victim’ especially came out of the hospital to testify that she was pushed by the defendant.

This case was particularly troublesome for Xing Ran because the opposing defender was her old nemesis, Gu Si Yu, who caused her and her mother to be forced out of their ‘home’.  Her mother was Gu Si Yu’s family housekeeper.

The driver is coming out of prison after ten years.  He seemed still bent on getting his revenge on

Episode 3 – 4

Xing Ran eventually won her case after the defendant retracted her first testimony.

She was so happy for not only winning her case but defeating Gu Si Yu as well.

The firm manager treated them to a meal.  But she got upset because her co-workers were fawning over the handsome manager instead of congratulating her.

She ended up drinking a lot.

The manager took her home.  In his car, Xing Ran asked her boss if he thinks her beautiful.  She was uncontrollable but in the end managed to get her home, where Jiang Xia was waiting.

Xing Ran introduced Jiang Xia as her young brother.

This drama is developing into a cute love triangle.

Jiang Xia helped her up to her apartment and out of nowhere he heard a voice saying “at last I’ve found you.”  It was obviously the driver.

Gu Si Yu had come back from the states to follow her ex-boyfriend, who happened to be Zhang Xiao Yang.

Zhang Xiao Yang, though had told her to let it go.  He is no longer interested.

Xing Ran had a break-in at her apartment, thank goodness Jiang Xia was there to lend her moral support.

Episode 5

Xing Ran finally found out that Li Junwei, the driver, was out of jail and had been looking for her.

She mistook that Jiang Xia was working with Li Junwei to spy on her.  She told Jiang Xia never to bother her again.  She then blocked him from her phone.

She then got a call from the police saying that Jiang Xia had been arrested for beating up a man.  When she asked who the victim was, she found out that it was Li Junwei.  She then remembered what occurred ten years ago.

She realised that Jiang Xia meant to protect her rather than harm her.

He then stayed at her apartment and while he was sleeping on her couch, she put a plaster on his wounded hand and then covered him with a blanket.

When he woke up, he saw his banded hand and made even more of a self-promised that he would protect her forever.

She was the first one to protect him and care for him in the last ten years.  The relatives who took him in did it rather begrudgingly and could easily read their minds wishing for him to have died in the accident with his father.

Meanwhile, Xiao Yang had been helping her in his small ways.  The other staff in their law office that they were getting close rather fast despite their bickering.
