Episode 1
Lin Ze and Chen Meng go to the same university to become police detectives (or something).
Chen Meng was failing all her academic subject but she was very good with the action stuff.
Anyway, Lin Ze was desperate to join the police as soon as possible, thus, he had been interning at the Bijiang Police Station. He found out however that he was only second to Chen Meng in the ranking.
He was absolutely flummoxed because she was failing the subject. He sought her out and found her selling ‘contraband’ snacks at the boys’ dorm. He reported immediately to their captain at the school.
Chen Meng was annoyed with him but she told him that he was past curfew but did not report him for it.
Lin Ze had a very clinical mind, he goes by the books and solves cases. But he was not popular with the police he was working with because he doesn’t show empathy with victims.
The first case Lin Ze was involved with was toys from the claw machine which has an embedded camera that watches the new owner of the toy.
Episode 2
Lin Ze was so lonely during the Chinese New Year. He wanted to continue working at the police station but Commander Qin told him to have a break.
He then saw Chen Meng who was equally lonely, alone in the dorm. So they began a rather uneasy friendship. But he was actually rather good to her. He started encouraging her to study and would often go to the library with her to find suitable books for her to read and study.
After the new year, she got a call from the nursing home that her mother had been very ill and the carer had advised her to take or transfer her mother to somewhere else.
Meanwhile, Lin Ze was so good at spotting/solving crimes that his police colleagues were jealous/envious of him. They often tell him to buy coffees that he was supposed to pay for but then Lin Ze works by the book so they can’t really victimize him.
Loving the first two episodes so far.
Episode 3-4
Lin Ze did it again, one look at the current criminal case of the team he was affiliated with and he cracked it.
The shoplifters were children wearing baseball caps.
Commander Qin recruited Chen Meng to help out in their pursuit of an art forger criminal. Unfortunately, it did not pan out because Cheng Meng met a man, who was part of the criminals as well who seemed to have taken interest in her.
She cannot accomplish her mission because the man insisted on following her around.
This man found out that Cheng Meng was a cop or working for the cops. He told his boss that they had to make some sacrifices and give Cheng Meng’s team a scapegoat so they would stop developing the case into a major one.
The art forger was sacrificed and arrested.
Meanwhile, Cheng Meng thinks that she may have fallen in love with Lin Ze.
Lin Ze asked her how’s her mother.
Cheng Meng said that it was very strange, when she went to the nursing home, they told her that fees have been paid so there was no reason why she had to transfer her mother.
Lin Ze asked isn’t she curious about who her benefactor was.
Cheng Meng said that her age and financial state, she dare not overthink it.
