Episode 1
This is hilarious and rather creepy.
Sato Yui works for Amagi Pharmaceutical Company.
She had a bereavement and was in a bar drowning her sorrow.
She said that she had met him when she was in year 10, he was with her in high school and college and now that they can co-habit, she learned that he had only a month to live.
She was crying and screeching about the sad loss of her hybrid dog.
She was bemoaning the fact that she was working in a pharmaceutical company who was completely useless in providing medicine that could have made her dog better or even bring him back to life.
A guy stood up as he cannot take the racket she was making. He told her that you cannot bring the dead back to life. If she likes she can take plenty of medication to join her dog, otherwise, she should stop barking and go home.
Yui got annoyed with his lack of empathy. As he was leaving, she tripped him with her foot and he ended up prostrate on the ground.
When she went to work the next morning, she immediately noticed that the employees were particularly busy, buzzing around like bees. Someone said that the president of Amagi is in the building.
Yui was not particularly interested so she went to the office without taking a look at the president.
In her office, her colleagues were also rather interested in the president. Apparently he was young and gorgeous. She was given a magazine featuring their president in its cover.
Yui immediately recognised that he was the guy at the bar last night.
Suddenly there was a stillness in the office and someone spoke from behind her. It was CEO Amagi.
He asked her to see him in his office.
Yui nervously went to his plush office and was sure that she was going to get the sack.
But after telling her that he knew so much about her, he then went in front of her.
To her surprise, he knelt down and humbly said that he fell in love with her because she had treated him so differently from how others deal with him.
He said to treat him like a slave, as her dog.
Yui was so surprised by this turn of event. She said that she did not treat her dog unkindly like a slave.
She then tried to help him to stand up but he was adamant with his request.
To sweeten his request, he gave her a BLACK credit card (unlimited credit, wow) to use as much as she likes.
Yui was not impressed. She found him creepy and told him so.
From then on, the usually incognito CEO was always at Yui’s side when he thinks she needed protection. Like when her line manager wanted her to make him coffee, the CEO turned up with a jar of coffee granules and sprinkled it all over the manager, telling him how dare he asks Yui to make him coffee when he, CEO Amagi had not tasted a coffee Yui had made yet.
Yui was suddenly treated differently by her line manager and colleagues. They were saying that she was the CEO’s girlfriend.
This rumour became widespread when she was dragged by the CEO to meet the scientist, pharmacists, doctors, who were behind the creation and manufacture of drugs at Amagi Corp. The CEO asked them to simultaneously ask for an apology for not having formulated a drug to cure Yui’s dog or something that could bring it back to life.
Yui felt like she was living in another dimension. When she next saw the CEO, she said to him as he was her slave then she has a command for him to follow religiously.
She told him to never speak to her again and never to see her again.
The succeeding days, she got her wishes. Whenever she sees the CEO, he just ignored her.
She suddenly did not like it.
An assistant of the CEO asked him why he was ignoring her.
“I am her slave.” he said.
Episode 2
It was the stroke of midnight and it was Sato’s 24th birthday. She felt rather sad and lonely. She doesn’t have anyone, not even Chocolate, her dead dog to celebrate this birthday. She also noticed that not a single message wishing her a happy birthday was on her phone.
She felt rather dejected at 2:30 am when she heard the gale outside. She went to the window and saw outside CEO Amagi holding a bunch of red roses looking up at her.
She found him really creepy. She did not know how long he had been standing there in the gale. She ignored him and went back to bed.
She woke up again with the sound of heavy rain. She got curious and went to look out of the window.
CEO Amagi was still standing outside being rain-soaked. Still, she went back to bed.
It was 3:am when she heard some commotion outside. The police had been called in by the neighbours of a suspicious character who had been standing outside of her apartment.
The police think he was a stalker.
Sato thought that she cannot let CEO Amagi to be called as her stalker so she went downstairs and told the police the Amagi was her boyfriend and that they had a fight.
The police believed Sato but warned her that perhaps next time, they should keep their tiff not to go out of hand.
Amagi thanked Sato when the police came. He said that he was wanted to be there for her birthday because he knew she would be missing her dog.
Sato was surprised he knew too much about her. He made a deep bow, so deep he was crouching by the ground. He then said that she was so precious to him.
Sato was mollified and went down to his level after putting her scarf around his neck.
Unfortunately, giving Amagi and inch, he will take a mile. 🙂 . Thinking that Sato was into him as well, he went near her which she she did not like.
But he again tried to give her the credit card for her birthday to use for a lifetime. He said that he will be happy to serve her all his life.
Sato returned the credit back to him.
The next day, one of her colleagues as her to go on a blind date with her. They will be meeting guys who work in the same environment.
It turned out the guys were after some formula for a drug that Amagi Corp is currently working on. The guys drugged the drinks of the girls and were planning to sleep with them and get them talking about the formula.
Sato overheard this and told the guys off. She told them that even if they get the formula, they were so stupid to know what to do with it. They are not like CEO Amagi.
At that moment CEO Amagi appeared and was very pleased with himself as Sato sounded so loyal towards him.
But Sato collapsed on his shoulders.
When Sato woke up, she was in bed at CEO Amagi’s house. She stayed the night alone his bed.
When she got up she found him asleep on the settee. She thought he looked so handsome asleep.
She was about to go when he pulled her to him and kissed her.
She noticed that he was kissing her while he was asleep. She bit him on the lip to wake him up.
Episode 3
It was the Annual Cleaning Day at Amagi Pharmaceutical. Everyone has to clean their desk and share the cleaning of the corridor as well.
But Sato was asked to proceed to the President’s office because she had been tasked to clean it. Sato was annoyed because it was another excuse by the President to see her.
When she got to the office, Amagi was holding a huge bouquet of flowers for her, which she refused to accept.
He then said that at least accept the invitation to his birthday.
She said she doesn’t want to go and started to leave but she fell on some boxes in his office.
She bruised her leg, which he insisted on cleaning. He then treated her wound with medication he had created. Then lovingly plastered her knee.
She was just leaving his office, when she was accosted by Amagi’s young but rather creepy secretary, Natori.
He told her to stay away from his boss because since he met her he had been almost impossible to work with, which is such as shame because he was going to have to deal with many business transactions and meet clients.
Sato told Natori that she has no interest in his boss and in fact, she was not going to his birthday party. She instructed Natori to tell his boss that.
The secretary was happy with what she said.
On Amagi’s birthday, the secretary was waiting for Sato. He had a car to take her to the party.
She already told him that she was not going.
Natori said that she must because Amagi will play up if she was not at the party. One of their biggest clients, Mr Sakaguchi, will be there and Amagi had to be in his best behaviour.
Sato said she would go but she doesn’t have anything to wear.
Notari said that it has all been taken care of.
Sato looks absolutely beautiful in her cocktail dress. Even Notari said so.
She was seen by Amagi, who came to meet her with his father, Amagi Kosuke.
His father asked her if she was his son’s girlfriend.
Sato denied it. She said instead that she was a victim of his stalker son and that he creeps her out big time. She announced this with everyone listening in.
You can almost hear a pin drop.
Amagi Kosuke looked at her seriously for a moment and then burst into laughter and said she was a girl who is full of energy. He likes her.
Mr Sakaguchi became rather familiar with Sato which made her uncomfortable. He wanted her to go to another place with him.
Suddenly a bottle of vintage Bordeaux was being poured on Mr Sakaguchi’s head by Amagi.
Amagi said that Mr Sakaguchi was not allowed to touch Sato with his dirty hands.
Sato threw a glass of water at Amagi to save the situation. She told him that he was drunk and all that.
They both went outside and Amagi thanked her for trying to save the situation with the client. But he said that he did not care about losing a client like Sakaguchi because he believed in their products which is bigger than the client.
Sato also thank Amagi for saving her from the slimy Mr Sakaguchi.
Amagi gave her his direct contact and asked to have hers in return but she declined.
She was going to wish him Happy Birthday but Notari interrupted and said Amagi was needed inside.
Natori then offered to escort Sato home.
Notari tried to chat her up inside the taxi. He said he can see why his boss liked her.
Sato just cut him dead and he gave up.
When she got home, she felt guilty about not having wished Amagi a Happy Birthday so she tried to call him but he did not answer.
But a couple of minutes later, he called her back but she did not bother replying.
He kept calling that in the end, it was easier to speak to him on the phone. But as she suspected he was outside her apartment making such a scene declaring his affection for her.
She went to speak with him downstairs. She called him ‘baka’ (stupid) and he was overjoyed.
Amagi said that no one had ever called him stupid before. This was the first time and it made him so happy.
Suddenly, her phone started ringing. It was Notari. Amagi grabbed the phone and told Notari to delete Sato’s number from his phone and never ever call Sato again.
He then told Sato to delete Notari’s number from her phone as well.
As much as he creeps her out she was becoming unwillingly attracted to him.
Episode 4
Notari was hounding Sato again to go to a spa holiday with Amagi. Sato was not interested but Notari did such a humiliating thing as begged on his knees for her to agree. There was also Ami-chan who convinced her to go and she will join the holiday.
Notari said that she could break up properly with Amagi if she agreed to pretend that she was Notari’s girlfriend.
She was desperate to break up with Amagi so she agreed.
Somehow Amagi seemed unaffected.
During dinner, Ami-chan got so drunk that Notari had to take her home leaving Sato alone with Amagi.
She was pouring him drink after drink after drink until he had had dozens of bottles of saki. He then fell asleep on the table.
She went back to the room she shared with Ami-chan but it was locked remembering that she gave the key to Notari to let Ami-chan in to the bedroom.
She wandered back to the restaurant but found Amagi collapsed outside under a tree. He seemed to be bleeding.
She half carried him to his room and started mopping the blood on his face. He said that it was not blood but ketchup.
He was going in for a kiss when she threw him over her shoulder.
He asked her if she hated him that much that she was playing games pretending to be going out with Notari.
They ended up on the floor and she felt how fast his bear was beating. She realised that she was as affected by him as he to her.
She then got up.
Back at work, again Sato had told Natori again that she was not interested in Amagi.
When she left, Amagi came out of the closet. Now he knew Sato was not really into him.
It turned out that he was working with Natori all along to find out if Sato felt even a smidgen of attraction towards Sato. And now he knew.
However, he was far from giving up because she had just become a forbidden fruit. And the more forbidden the more you want to have a taste of it a la Adam and Eve.
