This film is definitely something to take the boredom out of self-isolation.

It is fun, full of eye candy and there are moments of realism.

The story centers around four guys who are roommates and in their final year in university.

They were studying marketing.

The four boys have a different outlook on life but one thing though they protect each other and those who they are friends with.

Ling Xiangyu started his internship and promptly fell in love at first sight with his internship manager, who was slightly older than him but absolutely gorgeous.

He was very vocal of his love for her and researched her thoroughly.  Sometimes he knew her more than she knew herself.  This reminds us of what we post in social media, our life becomes an open book for anyone to peruse at any given time.

Anyway, Ling Xiangyu was not a bad looking, in fact he is gorgeous and he had shown how protective of her he was in a still male-dominated business world.

So before you know it, LIng Xiangyu fell for him as well.

But business is business and love is something personal that should not be mixed.  Their love, therefore, became a subject of contention.  Ling Xiangyu, though did an excellent job as an intern was not offered a permanent place in the company because of his rumoured romance with Mei Xin.

Mei Xin went to the manager and asked why Ling Xiangyu was not offered a job?  She then offered to resign as long as Ling Xiangyu was made permanent.

The Manager said she cannot lose Mei Xin but there was a solution.

Mei Xin broke up with Ling Xiangyu.  She said he needed to stay in the company.  Apparently each year 7.5 million students graduates in university. 7.5 million graduates are more than the population of Switzerland.  These 7.5 million would need a job and only half would find their ‘dream’ job.

No matter how much Ling Xiangyu tried to convince Mei Xin to stay together, she was determined to break up.

On his first day as a permanent, he handed in his notice.  He said that Mei Xin is more important that the job.  She was the reason of his being.

Lin Dapeng is a second-generation rich boy, an equivalent of Korean chaebol.  As such, he doesn’t have to worry too much about finding a job or about money.  Instead, he is obsessed with his new frisky alpaca, who has sex in mind.

Lin Dapeng advertised for a potential mate for his alpaca and he met all sorts of people wanted to connect with him instead.  This he did not want.

So he went to other avenues but the alpaca does not fancy a sheep or other animal aside from its own kind.

Lin Dapeng was taking his alpaca for a walk but he stopped by a shop to get some cornetto when his alpaca runs off.

He then found the alpaca with another alpaca, which was owned by a pretty girl.  Potential romance.

Guan Chao was brought up by his single mother, who ran a little shop which was sometimes harassed by gangs.  Guan Chao found one of the gangs trying it on with his mother.  To protect her he took a cleaver and brandished it to the gang man.  And from then on, he always carries a knife with him.  He may look like a studious dork but he never backout from any fights.

He was super-hype one time and what punching the air as he walked along.  He was so into that he did not notice at first a girl directly in front of him and slapped her in the face accidentally.  He profusely apologised but she slapped him back as well.  These slaps bonded them.  It become Love at the first slap.

Their romance would have been perfect as they really get on well but they have different goals in life.

Du Xiao Xiao’s ultimate goal was to study abroad and then become a migrant and take her whole family abroad to live.

Guan Chao was so upset because he can’t go with her as his mother is now bedridden and he has to take care of her.

The two lovebirds tried to break up but decided to be like any boyfriend/girlfriend for the next 50 days while Xiao Xiao is still in China.  They moved in together, lived like a couple, they even had a pretend wedding attended by all their friends.

But it came to an end when Xiao Xiao left for abroad.

And then there was Xie Xun.  He was the entrepreneur of the group.  He had a little sari-sari store/Tuck shop going in their dorm.  He was doing everything to earn money to buy a car for a girl who he loved very much, obsessively.

The girl dumped him for a rich married man who can give her all the material things that she wanted.

Xie Xun was gutted to find out the girl was pregnant.  She was Gao Baojing.

Gao Baojing’s boyfriend was very jealous and attacked Xie Xun, who rightly defended himself.

Xie Xun was always reliable when there was a fight.  He was always there to help and actually sometimes lead it which got him into trouble and got him expelled from the university.

His friends were sad to see him leave the uni but they really cannot do anything.

Meanwhile, the married boyfriend could not forgive Xie Xun so he sought him out and had him beaten up.

Xiangyu saw what was happening and tried to help Xie Xun.  They were both beaten up because there were too many of the married man’s posse.

But when it was looking hopeless, the boys from the uni came with their bats and sticks and even chair to join in the fray. And it turned into a rumble in the jungle.

Thank goodness, no one got suspended as the students were protecting their own inside the perimeter of the uni.

Xie Xun was cleaning his car one day when out of the blue Gao Baojing turned up all spruce up and gorgeous and no protruding tummy in sight.

She confessed that she had miscarried and then promptly dumped by her boyfriend because of it.

She said that she was there to say goodbye as she was returning to their hometown.

One year later…

Xiangyu is still dating Mei Xin.

Xiangyu was fetched by Dafeng and Guan Chao to go to their old university to attend Xie Xun’s graduation day.
