Quick Precis

A young bandit girl became a fake bride to a royal prince. 🙂

Episode 1

This episode started with the wedding of Yuyao/Changle to the Crown Prince Li Che.

The ceremony was interrupted by a minister who said he risked his life to investigate the bride.

A few weeks/month previously.

Yuyao was being chased by her father and his soldiers until she was stopped near a cliff.  Her father told her to stop and go home with him.

Yuyao said that she loved her father very much and had been a dutiful daughter but at this instant she cannot oblige to what they commanded her to do.

She loves Duan.

Her father told her that Duan was not coming back because he’s dead.

Yuyao realised that her ambitious grandfather had Duan killed.

So she jumped off the cliff.

This was a problem for the Liu Family because the Emperor had mandated that the daughter of Prime Minister Liu will marry the Crown Prince of the Night Kingdom.

The Lius decided to keep quiet about Yuyao’s death.

It so happened that a bandit girl called Changle was the doppelganger of Yuyao, which grandfather/Prime Minister Liu found out.

Prime Minister Liu had all the bandits family rounded up including Changle.  The minister made a deal with Changle, for three months she would pretend to be YuYao and be married to Crown Prince Li Che.  He will then let her whole family of bandits go, plus pay her handsomely with gold as well.

Changle did not have much choice so she agreed.

Now the wedding.  A seed from a watermelon she was eating got stuck in her face, which was seen by the crown prince who was not impressed by what he thought was a beauty mark.

Episode 2

During the wedding, a minister tried to stop it.  He was, of course, working for Prince Li Che.

Chang Le was rather worried that they’ll found out she was a fake.  The Prime Minister and his son were also equally worried.

But all things, the complaining minister questioned whether ‘YuYao’ was still a virgin as they heard she likes going out with men.

A nanny was immediately summoned to examine Changle.  A few minutes later the Nanny came back with Changle and proclaimed that Yuyao was still an innocent girl.

Li Che still tried to sabotage the wedding by having Yuyao/Changle kidnapped by Chang Le was just too imaginative she was able to protect herself.

Li Che, thinking that Yuyao had been gotten rid off, went to the marital bedroom only to find Chang Le waiting for him rather provocatively.

Episode 3

Li Che was doing everything to make Yuyao/Changle to appear unreasonable but he was falling so far.  In fact he was highlighting her good points.

Episode 4

Li Che took Yuyao/Changle gambling.  He told her to leave him as he was gambling so she went to another table.  He was busy losing all his money when he saw that she look dejected as well asking people not to leave.

He was just betting his last coins when Yuyao/Changle appeared again.  He lost all his money.

Yuyao /Changle said that she will bet as well.

Li Che told her that they don’t have anymore money but she said she has and in came a helper with a tray full of her winnings.

Episode 5

The King was having a party but the musician to accompany Zhu Yan’s dancing had taken ill.

Yuyao’s ‘mother’ who appeared at her side volunteered Yuyao’s services.

The Prime Minister and his son were very nervous as they of course knew that Changle was a bandit girl assumed that she had no cultural accomplishment.

They were pleasantly surprised when Changle/Yuyao played the qin beautifully.

Li Heng was making every effort to get close to Zhu Yan but she was rebuffing him at every turn.

Episode 6

It is episode 6 and I am still not sure about this drama and what is going on, what the story is about.  I like a love triangle that is missing in this drama.

Li Heng has a romance with Zhu Yan, who for some reason I don’t really like.  Their characters are so boring.  I would rather have had Yuyao and Li Che more screen time.

Speaking of Li Che, he had been advised by his grandpa to make use of Yuyao.

Make Yuyao fall in love with him so she will side with Li Chen and then they can use her against Liu Sheng, the Prime Minister.

Li Che was proudly telling his assistant that he has Yuyao eating out of his palm but it seemed it is the other way around.

He even took her to a festival and was lovey-dovey towards her.

Episode 7

Changle started falling in love with Li Che.  She tried new things to be a good wife to him like.

She tried cooking which was rather disastrous as she ended up burning not only the food but also her hair.

She then tried embroidery.  She really worked on this and was so proud of herself when she finished the embroidered silken pouch for Li Che.

She took it into his manor which was empty.

She excitedly looked for a place to hide the pouch for his maximum surprise.

However, she got the surprise of her life when she found some of his correspondence. She just can’t help herself, but she promised that she will only read one letter.

The letter was the one Li Che’s grandpa had sent him about making Yuyao fall in love with Li Che and used her against Liu Sheng.

Episode 8

Yuyao/Changle was very disappointed that the feelings of Li Che towards her were all fake.

She said she was going to make him pay.

And she started to by stealing and leaving the stolen goods in front of his mansion which means he had to investigate it.

Li Heng and Zhu Yan had finally got together. Changle tried to help them a little bit when she found them together in the Zhu Mansion which was her next victim to steal from.

She found that Nongqing was also at the Zhu mansion.  She helped Nongqing and in return, Nongqing gave her a copy of the letter Li Che was sending his father.

The letter said that there was no need to investigate or use Yuyao because she is an innocent girl and hoped that if she did side with them she was never going to be hurt.

Awww Changle was really chuffed.
