Episode 1
The first episode is alright but I did not find it really riveting. Perhaps because the leads do not have that chemistry yet.
In fact the gorgeous Xing Zhaolin was rather annoying as a money-oriented guy.
Well it started with the leads talking about marriage.
The guy, Long Yue said that marriage is arranged by parents and he doesn’t have any problem with that. Parents know best and marriage is about gaining more money and power.
The girl, Ju Mu’er said that she will only marry for love.
Anyway, Long Yue owns an inn called Yilong Inn and he charged for everything and was very exacting. And this very nature which made him tangle with Ju Mu’er who sells and delivers wine to Yilong Inn.
Yilong had a long unpaid tab and when she tried to collect the monies owed, Long Yue said that the wine they received from Ju Mu’er often not enough volume or liters, and to prove to her he poured the wine to his measuring jar, but Ju Mu’er could see that he was pouring it haphazardly and spilling everywhere.
So they don’t get on but it seems fate has a plan for them because they were always bumping into each other.
Her master, Shi Boyin was coming back to the Capital after such a long time of absence. He had been semi-banished because his music apparently caused the miscarriage of one of the emperor’s concubines.
Anyway, Shi Boyin is fairly closed to the Empress Dowager who wanted to meet.
Their meeting though was thwarted by assassins who wanted to get Shi Bo YIn.
Ju Mu’er was contacted by the Empress Dowager to deliver her letter to Shi Bo Yin.
When Shi Bo Yin got it, he told Ju Mu’er that they do not have any relationship anymore. She is no longer his student and he was not her master.
