Episode 1

Xiong Xioru is an extraordinary painter.  She has a photographic memory which is useful to put image to screen paper.

In fact, she is beginning to get well known for her comic books and painting as the Happy Fairy.

Unfortunately, she was not making much money from her work because as soon as she creates them and published, they are immediately plagiarised.

Her mother was unhappy that she was always in the street doing her painting and yet she would not paint the girls who works in her mother’s brothel/restaurant (?)

She told her mother that she captures image as she sees them.  She doesn’t do filter and photoshopping as what her mother would like her to do.  She wanted her girls to look better in paintings.

Anyway, they live int Yungyan Commandary which is controlled by the Li Family.

It was said that the Li Family commits the seven deadly sins.  They are a family of pure evil.  The patriarch alone eats 10 pigs a day and the firstborn is devil incarnate.  This was the going rumour.

The firstborn of the family happened to come home from another long battle.

He is Li Hongbin, a gorgeous man who likes nothing better than being in a warfare zone.

He was lauded for his valour and bravery that the king presented him with the sword of a legendary general, General Huwei which Hongbin now presented to his less than impressed father, the duke.

The Duke was tired of seeing his firstborn going from battle to battle.  He wanted his son to stay home and take over the dukedom.  The duke reckoned that out of his four sons, Hongbin is the most suitable to take over from him.  His second born certainly would not do as he was a debauched character. LOL

Hongbin was not long arrived home when assassins from Petalled Lotus came to attack.

He believed that the assassins are roaming Yunyan.  He decided to round them up by inviting the Happy Fairy to show himself for great rewards.

Xirou put on a man’s outfit and a slug mustache and went to the National Art Pavilion to present herself as the Happy Fairy.

When she went in she was surprised with the number claiming that they were the Happy Fairy.

It was decided that they had to prove themselves and had to draw.

Every candidate/pretender was drawing when the gate was shut and soldiers put swords against each of the candidates including at Xirou.

Xirou got out of the way and went to beg Hongbin for protection while the soldiers were taking care of the assassins.

The real assassins when rounded off were killed off by their self-inflicting poison.

Xirou managed to get away but she dropped her Happy Fairy seal which was found by Hongbin who thought that Xirou was a member of the assassins.

She was hiding when a girl she used to know from the Spring House asked her if she wanted to make money.  She will pay her 2000 tael to paint the 4 Arthart.

The girl then gave her a pouch which she was told to open when she gets to the venue.

Episode 2

Xirou was one of the new hire to the Li Mansion.  She was petrified when she found out that it was the Li Mansion that she had to go.

She got more horrified when she was chosen as the new manservant of the firstborn.

The maid she spoke to could not understand why she would be terrified.  The firstborn, Hongbin is one of the 4 Arthart, the flower boys of Yunyan, very handsome.

Xirou realised that the firstborn was Hongbin, the man who had been hunting her.

As she can’t leave immediately, she thought she might as well paint him and might get her at least 300 taels.

So she drugged Hongbin who had just a bath and almost naked ready to go to bed.

Xirou quickly painted the unconscious Hongbin who looked like he was about to wake up.  Xirou was about to give him more sleeping powder but Hongbin moved suddenly and she snorted the powder instead and promptly fell asleep in Hongbin’s arms.

They almost both woke up at the same time.

Hongbin was concerned that he did something with the boy Xirou so he had her paddled almost to death.

It took a month for her backside to heal and the first thing she did was try to escape by climbing a ladder to get to the other side of the wall.

Unfortunately Hongbin and his assistant were nearby and gotten her back.

Hongbin ordered for her to be paddled to the death.

In desperation, Xirou let her hair down literally and revealed her to be a cute girl.  She then said that she was pregnant with Hongbin’s baby.

The assistant was shocked.  He looked at his master, who seemed sheepish and guilty.

Hongbin ordered a doctor to examine Xirou.

The doctor happened to he Xirou’s childhood best friend, Ye Shihan.

Betwenn Shihan and Xirou, they managed to convince Hongbin that she was indeed 4 weeks pregnant.

She told Shihan to advise Hongbin to let her go but Shihan said that his reputation as a doctor is already in jeopardy so he can’t add more to it.

Xirou pretended to be epileptic and needed to get out of the manor but Hongbin said that since she was carrying his baby, she will stay next to him and be his manservant.

Episode 3

The second brother had been forced to return to the Li Mansion by First Brother Hongbin.

Xirou knew of Second Brother as 2000 taels.  She had painted him before and told her that her painting of his was worth 2000 taels at least.

Anyway, Xirou saw Second Brother being taking to Chuyu Courtyard and thought that they are like-minded and was being kept prisoner at the mansion so she told him that they should run away together.

Second Brother was only too happy to help and go with her.  He managed to get her into the other side of the fence before the guards came but he had to stay.

Xirou was finally out but not for long because she was found by Ashuang immediately.  Ashuang was the girl from Spring House.

Ashuang threatened Xirou for not having completed her mission of painting the 4 Arthart.  Ashuang said that she would kill everyone Xirou is connected to if she doesn’t go back and draw the 4 Arthart.

Xirou sadly went back to the Li Mansion.

She went to look for the second brother.  She then realised that second brother was 2000 taels and also called Li Hongyu.

Li Hongyu, she found was a great artist, very meticulous in his drawing.  She was so in awe, she asked him if she could be his disciple.

Hongyu agreed immediately.

Xirou begged him to give her a gift.  He said she could choose anything from the array of his paintings.

Xirou, however, said that she would like to paint him, naked.

She got her way.

Episode 4

Honbin found the naked painting of Hongyu from Xirou.

Hongbin was being matched with at least two ladies.  Miss Song, who can bring power to the family but she was so unbearable and unruly.

The other is Dai Ruren who had been prepared to be a possible wife for Hongbin since she was a child.

Hongbin was not interested however and would do anything to prevent any match from these two.

Episode 5

Xia Ning Jun makes such a gorgeous prince.

Xi Zi has got the cutest pout.

Hongbin tried to set up the second prince to marry Miss Song but the wily Second Prince sabotaged Hongbin’s plotting and it ended for Miss Song to insist that Hongbin will be the person that can apologised to him.

Hongbin had it confirmed that Xirou was the Happy Fairy.

She would have been his ticket to going back into the military as it his father’s condition was to bring Happy Fairy to him and Hongbin can do what he likes.

But it was too late.  Hongbin felt more for Xirou than master and servant.  He had started looking at Xirou as a woman.

Especially when ninjas from the Petalled Lotus attacked him with a poisoned dagger.

Xirou saw what was happening and though lacking in any martial arts skill, she picked Hongbin’s sword and started brandising it against the assassin.

she then half carried, half dragged Hongbin to the safety of his room.

The she saw how she ministered after him while he was half out of it from the poison.

When he was compos mentis, he gave Xirou an amulet for anti-miscarriage and made her drink ginseng soup. Awww

Episode 6

The poor second prince was punished for upsetting Mss Song with the portrait he redrew of her.

Xirou was looking after him which annoyed the First Prince because he said that she was having his baby and yet she was flirting with another man.

Xirou told the Prince that she does not have any flirtation with the second prince, she was just taking care of him and helping him with his art as a deal. All they have was a deal.

This explanation somehow assured the First Prince.

Zirou was sweeping the walkway when the Prince’s assistant led a retinue of servants with fine clothes and make up for her.

After she had changed into a woman’s clothes, she was rushed into the hall where the Duke and Duchess were gathering with Miss Song and Dai Ruren.

Zirou was so frightened she held on to the hem of the First Prince hanfu.  He told his parents that Zirou is the only woman he was going to love and he was going to marry her.

Everyone was shocked because Zirou was a servant.

But the First Prince said that Zirou is now pregnant with his baby.

Zirou and Hongbin thought of a suitable back story for Zirou.  They agreed that she should be a daughter of a provincial magistrate who ran away to see the world and learn a craft.

Hongbin’s parents did accept her after a fashion.

The Duchess gave her a family golden bracelet.

Episode 7

The Duke and  Duchess and the Duke’s second brother invited Zirou to play mahjong.

Zirou surprised everyone when she cleared them out of money.

The Duke asked to speak with her.  Everyone was upset for her but the Duke actually wanted to know her secret.  He said he will help her in her marriage if she tells him the secret.

Then the Third Master turned up because he heard that they were playing mahjong which is his forte.

The Third Master is the youngest brother of the Duke.  He is spoilt and prone to throwing hizzy fits.

He challenged Zirou for a game.

Zirou let him win the first round and then she won again and again.

In his frustration, the Third Master said that if she was from nobility then she must now how to paly a musical instrument or to paint.

Zirou can’t play the zither but she opted to do a painting.

The were sniggering when it took her a while to start paining and then she did scribbles on the paper and then completely painted it black.

There were more sniggering because no one can see what she painted.

She said that there was another step to it.  She threw golden dust to the painting and suddenly it showed the whole Li family gathering around a table.

This kind of painting was considered vulgar by the Third Master but the Duke said that he was very happy with it.

They have started to accept Zirou and were having dinner with her and Hongbin when Miss Song gatecrashed the dinner.

She threw a bowl at Zirou but Hongbin covered her with his body.

This was too much for the Duke and Duchess and they had had enough of the spoilt Miss Song.

Episode 8

The mansion is busy preparing for the wedding of Hongbin and Zirou.

Hongbin was actually quite excited to have a child,he started reading about child-rearing.

Zirou was having problems with coming to terms of having to really marry Hongbin.

She found the second prince looking so lonely by the lake. They commiserated with each other.

When she got back to her room, Hongbin was there with delicious food for her.  He also presented her a gold bracelet similar to the one given to her by the Duchess.

Hongbin said that the bracelet is different and on a closer look, she noticed that it was more delicate.  Hongbin said that the bracelet was for his wife and while Zirou is his wife she must continue to wear it.

The next morning, Hongbin found the bracelet on the table and Zirou gone.  She also left a letter confessing that her pregnancy was lie to save her life.

Zirou had gone back to Yanzhou Art Pavilion.  She was feeling sad and guilty about Hongbin but a dish of fish head soup cured her sadness.

Poor Hongbin tried to reconcile the fact that Zirou was gone but he just can do it.  He was missing her too much and seems to see her everywhere.  Even his sword practice doesn’t make him at peace.

He just can bear it anymore so he went to Yanzhou Art Pavilion to look for Zirou.
