Episode 1
Good solid start. Well acted with a very taut script. Like any good kdramas, this one does look as if done on the cheap. The setting is good; not carboardy!
Kim Yoon Chool is so unhappy with his perfect marriage that he even had nightmares of killing himself.
He is a chef married to his ultra perfect wife, who keeps the house spick and span, she has a routine to follow, everything is labelled and put to where they belong including his selection of shoes.
She had conditioned him to follow her rules, including the etiquette on using the sink when he brushes his teeth.
Every morning, he could not wait to leave the perfection of his wife and his house for work. In fact he had developed and allergy to his wife’s touch and kisses that he had habitually take anti-histamine as soon as he gets into his car.
At work, he is much admired because of his good-looks, good manners and precision of decisions.
His staff often comment that they had the best boss because he is happily married to a perfect woman.
But not everyone was happy about his married life, Su Mi, his maitre’d.
Yool Chool is having a passionate affair with Su Mi, who is the antithesis of his wife.
Su MI is a complete slapper that somehow makes Yool Chool at home at her untidy flat.
During a tryst, Yool Chool asked Su MI to leave and start over somewhere.
Su MI said that he was too old to start from scratch, the only thing to do was to take everything from his wife and to do that she has to die.
She happens to have a drug with her called ADXT which is so toxic that it would cause diarrhea, vomiting, within days would make one’s inside to collapse. The drug is, however, hard to detect.
Su MI told him to inject the drug into a bottle of wine. And that was what he did.
He was at the gate of his house when he notice a rather suspicious character park in front of his house but he did not think much of it.
He got home to a rather dark house and started calling for his wife, who did not answer and very unusual.
Then he got a shock, on the floor was a pool of blood. He got more concerned and went to look for his wife. Then he found a note that his wife had been kidnap. It says that if he wanted his wife then he had to pay a ransom and not to call the police or his wife is dead.
He called the police immediately.
The detective found Yool Chool suspicious because he was very calm.
And when the demand for a ransom came, it was for 5Billion won, the exact amount that was in his and wife’s account and this get more suspicious.
Then police followed him to the restaurant and they became suspicious of his relationship with the maitre ‘d, who was getting excited from the police presence downstairs while she was seducing Yool Chool in the office above.
At first the media and the people were very sympathetic with Yool Chool but it was not long before news that Yool Chool was revealed to be having an affair.
Su Mi called him and asked him about the poison, she was screaming at him why he had kept the wine.
After emptying the bottle on the bathroom floor, he escaped from the house.
Now, he wanted to know what had happened to his wife. Who kidnapped her and now framing him.
Despite, Yool Chool cheating on his wife, there is a remnant of sympathy for him because he is so bumbling in his attempt that he is more of an idiot rather than a killer, this stress allergy evidence this. Mind you, cheating is not on.
