Episode 1
Wow! Love the first episode.
Park Tae Yong is a barrister. He was only a high school graduate but passed the bar exam.
He won his last case which became high profile. It was about a homeless man who was browbeaten by the police to confess to the murder of a schoolgirl. He served for five years for the crime. He retracted his confession later on.
Park Tae Yong found new evidence that cleared him of the crime.
Park Tae Yong was on adrenalin rush during a press conference that he comes very cheap at 300 won per case because he was only a high school graduate.
Before he knew it, the building where his office was, was inundated by the poor people who wanted justice. Park Tae Yong realised that he made a blunder. They need to make money as they were in arrears of their rent and loan from the bank. Their would-be clients mostly could not even afford to pay the 300 won fee.
His two assistants later abandoned him when he was forced to downsize to an even smaller office.
Meanwhile, an ace reporter, Park Sam Soo, became feted because of his rehashing of a schoolgirl murdering her own abusive father trended nationwide.
His popularity got to the high-ups and one of them wanted him to ghostwrite his memoir.
He did not like them much; they look down on him because he was only a graduate of a second class university.
It so happened that he got a tiff off from a woman who said that she knew the real murderer where three innocent young men, two of which had a mental disability were later arrested and put to jail for the crime.
The women gave full documentation of the case to Sam Soo which included an old cassette tape.
After going through the documents, he found out that the judges were the higher-ups who were bullying him.
He gave a full report to his editor.
What he did not know was that Park Tae Yong had been approached by the three young men who were originally sent to prison.
Episode 2
Sam Soo started shadowing Mayor Kang for his memoir but his effort was photographed by a rival news agency which called Sam Soo as a lapdog.
The situation got embarrassing at his workplace, he was told to lie low for a while, actually sacked.
Sam Soo was actually rather disillusioned because he found out that his boss was under the thumb of the mayor and senior prosecutors and judges.
He then decided to cooperate with Park Tae Yong, who was enticed by a large legal firm. He was tempted to join them but realised that they were also a firm with a connection with the mayor.
Episode 3
The young ex-cons were offered compensation as a settlement rather than going to court.
Episode 4
During the completion of the settlement process, it all went wrong because the ex-cons had a flashback of the brutality and humiliation they received as a punishment for a crime they did not do.
It was then announced by Mayor Kang’s team that there should be a retrial.
At first Lawyer Park and Sam Soo thought they won but Investigator Hwang Min Kyeong that they were so innocently naive. A retrial would mean they would lose because the opposing team will bury the truth in court. The case will be prolonged until the real killers escape due to the statute of Limitation.
Episode 5
Sam Soo wrote a very emotive article regarding the ex-cons which trended and made people sympathised with their flight including the real criminals.
Episode 6
Lawyer Park won the case because one of the criminals confessed.
I don’t understand why Sam Soo had to share the revenue from his writing with Lawyer Park who is so generous to others with money that he does not really have or can’t afford to give.
What happened to his ten percent from the 3 ex convicts compensation which should amount to 200,000?

Episode 16
This is the last episode that the charismatic Bae Seong Woo would be playing the role of Sam Soo.
Bae Seong Woo was involved in a DIU incident and was arrested in real life.
He will be replaced for the role by the legendary Jung Woo-Sung.
I hope Bae Seong Woo can still come back into the dramaland as he is an amazing actor.
Just don’t drink and drive, man!
