This drama was formerly called My Youth Loved You.

Apparently the story will start in 1984 and will follow the ups and downs of the lives of the youths in Mayang Street over a thirty-year period.

Ou Xiaojian was a very clever boy who got into the police academy.  But half-way through, he drops out and turns into a street gangster. ?

Episode 1

16 January 2021:  I am just starting to watch this drama as I was hoping more episodes are subbed first but I cannot wait any longer.

Anyway, the drama started rather noisily. It was 1984, Olympics time.

The people of Mayang Street in Guangzhou gathered together in the street to watch Wang Yi Fu and Xu Haifeng bag the medals in shooting.

It was the most exciting part of the game and the people were glued to the small screen when an out of control truck was directly heading towards them.

It was mayhem.  The truck eventually crashed into Granny Zeng’s brick fence.

Yi Dongdong catapulted from the truck straight into the prone body of Ma Xiao Xiao.  Dongdong thought that one look at Xiao Xiao knew that she will be important to his life.  it was love at first sight.

The Yi family came from Hunan.  But after Yi Sheng Li left the army, he decided to uproot his family and go back to his hometown where a house was left to him by his grandparents.

Anyway, the Yi family was taken to the police station but immediately let out when the police captain found out that Yi Sheng Li was in a brother from the army.  He invited the whole Yi family to dinner which did not please his wife Chen Lili.

Hao Pu Shi, Yi Sheng Li’s life put a sweet chili sauce to the dinner table.

Sun Xui, the son of Sun Ben Yan and Chen Lilu complained that the chili sauce was so hot.

The next morning, Yi Sheng Li went to Granny Zeng to fix her wall.

Chen Lili was harassing Hao Pu Shi for giving them the trot because of her chili sauce.

It so happened that Sun Ben Yan was passing in his bicycle to go back home because he had the diarrhea as well.

But Dongdong remembered that Sun Ben Yan did not eat the chili sauce.

Sun Ben Yan said it was not the chili that gave him the trot it was the soya milk they had for breakfast.

Chen Lili still was not convinced but Hao Pu Shi was vindicated.

Meanwhile, Dongdong and Nannan made a friend who was rather naughty.  He taught the brothers the dialect of the town.  He told them to practice it often.

Xiao Xiao was passing and they tried their new lingo with her.  She was so annoyed because they were asking her if she was stupid.
