Episode 1

Kureno Masora works as a junior doctor in a large modern hospital in the city was just telling a senior doctor how hectic her life was but that is just how she likes it.

Moments later she collapsed and was diagnosed with polymyositis and dermatomyositis, which is muscle weakness.

She was told to rest but she said she needs to work because she had many bills to pay including her scholarship.

The doctor told her that they need a doctor not a patient as her current condition.

So she has this mysterious illness as well as being jobless.

She visited her mother who had just opened a new restaurant.  She cannot tell her mother that she was jobless because her mother had been so proud of her.

Anyway, she was waiting desultory for the bus when a man came running out from the rain into the shade provided by the tree she was also standing under.

The man gave her an apple and told her that it might be the best looking apple but it still tastes the same as any apple.

His homily gave her an idea.  She will apply for a doctor position out of the city.

And she chose Nijiiri Village.

She was absolutely exchanged when she arrived at the village. She was warmly welcomed with a party.  Although the older generation thought she was a bit too young, they accepted immediately all the same.

Then she saw the hospital and when she would live and she thought she had gone to heaven.

The next day, Asagi and Aoyami brought her to their local shop.  She got a literal surprise as there was another welcome party for her.

One of their regulars failed to turn up to the party which was very unlike him.  They then heard from someone that the man they were waiting for was collapsed by the riverside having slipped into the rain-soaked footpath.

Kureno, Asagi and Aoyami got to work to save the man who had a massive cut on his leg and had lost a lot of blood.

If this was not an emergency enough, there was another report that a child had lost consciousness.  This drama happened during a power cut due to the thunder and lightning.

Kureno, being the doctor went to see the child who she found had a temperature of 40 degrees.  She carried the child back to the clinic.

Overnight, they worked saving their two patients.  The villagers did what they could do including provident generators.

In the morning they found the patients back to normal temperature.

The villagers noticed that Kureno had distanced herself from them.  She was crying.

She confessed that she lied to them.  She was very ill and her type of illness as only about 80 percent of living for another five years.

She told them the it was an imposition but she wanted to stay as their doctor because she like her job as well as she doesn’t have anywhere else to go.

After a few minutes, she was assured that she has a place in their village as their doctor.

Ahhh, heartwarming.
